Thankyou very much, I run a shop here in Liverpool, UK. Been repairing since I was nine, now 47 years old and finally dipped my toes into board repair. One man business, Done my first USB C and HDMI repair successfully after watching your videos for the last year, will be adding all your skills to my own. Thanks from the heart for all the tutorials. I'm sure with practice ill be busy for another 15 years....
You realize how small most of these components are when you see the tip of the cotton buds. It looks like you´re cleaning the board with a whole sheep! Great videos!!
Omg this is my computer... Im dying in suspense. I am honest when i say, i watch all your videos... I cant believe its gonna be a part 2... This is amazing. Thank you so much for trying... 😍❤️❤️❤️
Great videos, and you are doing an amazing job making many happy customers. I can watch these videos all day and still get a chuckle at "other shop repair attempts" :) And you seem to instantly identify the problems, nice :)
What temperature and air flow do you typically use on your hot air station? I know the videos might be sped up slightly but you always seem to be able to de-solder / solder very quickly. Love the videos and hope you're doing well.
@@NorthridgeFix hey not fair its just your usual ending line that came out probably as part of video ending habit .. i hope you´ll get that laptop fixed and not let the owner down since he does not wanna give up on it 😉 you´re doing great work with all these devices but tbh i sometimes miss some ending when you say that you might made follow up when you have to wait for some part you don´t have at stock to arrive just to know if the device was fixed after all or there was some other issue that cause it to be "no fix"
Another master class.👍 I just wonder can it be charged with any usb-c? I am not 100% sure but I think many of similar devices have dedicated usbc for charging if there are more than one. Maybe that's the issue. I hope it's not. 🤞
Why don’t customers come clean about the repair attempt and the USB connector having been attempted to repair. Do they think you wont know. Or did a previous repair shop spin him a tale of what they did???. Either way its a pain.
Hello alex, I am too taking the knowledge you are sharing with us and started working on components. I have a question. Is there any scenario in which a capacitor will beep on both ends on diode mode and be ok? Does that mean the cap is shorted to ground and something is bad? Thanks for what you do.
I have this laptop. Is it possible to add more RAM? I understand it's soldered to the board. It's a nice looking laptop but absolutely sh!t performance. Keep up the good work.
hello NrF I was wondering what solderingstation you use ?is it still Weller ? on your site you sell JCID station is that same quality than Weller? thank you
It is 100% repairable, but is it worth it? It doesn't make much sense to spend hours and hours trying to rebuild one single port, when he could fix 4-5 other devices in that same timeframe.
This customer is super sketchy! He's board had other issues that he didn't disclose such as missing components which would have NOTHING to do with someone breaking a USB-C port.
@@Zebra_Paw No. When you withhold valuable information about further damage that the customer may have caused its not ok. You are obviously not a tech to make a statement like that.
@@klwthe3rd I am a repair technician lol. I've delt with tones of customers who "forgot" to mention stuff about their computers. I just tell them what I noticed and then they choose what to do. It's no problem for the repair shop, the only person who loses something here is the customer.

Please part 2 video. Your attention to detail is great. Thanks for teaching the right way to approach repair of SMT based PCB's.
This is the Best channel in English about hardware reparation
I have no idea what the gentleman is doing, but it's really fun to watch.😊
I like how you show the easy fixes and the ones that don't go so well. Thanks for the great video
I miss the music these videos used to end with.
Me too!

This is what youtube is for
i do enjoy watching this but will never do it unfortunately, i prefer working on tube and early solid state equipment
I think when you prep the connector pads @06:03 you shorted the first connector pad with ground
The first connector is connected to ground by design. Look at it good and you will see it.
That pad is connected to ground. watch 30 sec before when he is cleaning the pads
Alex is exactly following the IPC standard!!

Fingers crossed for part 2 🤞😀
Looking forward to part 2.
Boy they hammered that board big time.
wait for part two where we´ll continue.. right after see ya we´ll do something else in next video 🤣

Did you not see the cracked off piece earlier in video?
But, every via is on there, the solder mask could be scraped off and new pads placed

Quick question: Where do you get the donor boards from?
You'd be lost without big boss

There is one of your missing components on upper left mounting hole of USB connector 😂
good eye sight 😂
You could superglue the port of the donor board on the damaged one
I bet the new wipes are selling like hotcakes!
Does Alex sleep ??? He's a workaholic.
What will happen if u leave a flux on the board when powering
Nothing actually, it's just not clean but it will operate perfectly
Do you think it would be possible to fit a connector to the damaged area and run wires so it could be charged?

Similar to a switch dock power connector
Came in for repair.

You should of just gave the donor board to the customer with ssd moved
You realize a donor board is used as a donor because it's dead and unfixable (like dead CPU or something)
