Yes, do the values / morals video. Add into your communication section that if you hear something about someone or some situation, don't be the person who is the gossip guy or gal. Don't create drama. File it away as hearsay or BS. Give that person the benefit of the doubt. Be positive and helpful, not.a pain in the *ss. If you have life or job experience, you have skills and experiences to bring to the table. (FF with 30 plus years in the fire world).
My brother was one in Cali for a couple seasons. The stories he has are insane, I wouldn't want anyone I love doing it. They aren't paid nearly enough for how insane/dangerous the work is
It is a dangerous job, no doubt about that. But, I do have to give the fire service credit because they do require a lot of training and implement SOPs to keep everyone as safe as possible. And I 100% agree that they don't get paid nearly as much as they should!
I never felt like my life was in danger, to be fair I’ve only done 1 season (planning to do as many more as I possibly can 😁) but standard operating procedures and the info in your IRPG keeps you safe, the main thing is if your very receptive to heat related illness, I worked with a guy who got serious heat stroke on a 110 degree day and he got canned.

I have over 30 years wildfire experience in the PNW and have had many qualifications ( Crew Boss, Engine Boss, Felling Boss, Dozer Boss, Fireline Explosives, Interagency Resource Representative, Information Officer, High Angle Firefighter, Fire Kitchen Supervisor, Fire Kitchen Manager & on Washington Incident Management Team #1 as Food Unit Leader.) I was DNR superintendent at Cedar Creek Corrections Center with 15 10-man inmate fire crews. Even after I retired 10+ years ago I still had my qualifications for a fire team. I was called off fire duty 2x to help train 600 National Guards for fires.

How do you get them to even see your application. I put my application in for over 10 years and no one could ever find it. Lets face it. there is a lot of politics and discrimination in this field. You should do a video on how to deal with that.

I have looked at it for me, but there could be more. There are some exemptions for the age requirement. The one I was most interested in was if you were in military, fire, police, or ems. I was happy about that because I plan to do 26ish years in the Marines. I didn't read all the way into it but there are exceptions.

Check MT DNRC, ID IDL, WA DNR, or OR ODF. Those are the state agencies. They will have both hand crew and engine crew positions available.
