I just love the 2014 version. I remember saving the video and watching it over and over. I'd show it to my friends to try and get them into babymetal. However, to me, the 2021 version is the better one. You can hear how comfortable she was, how powerful her lower notes are when compared to the older versions, and like you said, the mixing of instruments is better. Both versions hold a special place in my heart.
my favorite babymetal song with su solo. as for the best version, i'm kind of in the middle. not 2014 or 2021, but for me it's the version from the fox festival 2017. su is closer to the band, and the venue is smaller. so it feels more like a rock concert in a club than an arena spectacular. the duo guitar solo also has the late Mikio Fujioka who was incredible.
@@jarongeil-vocalcovers2484 it is! you should check it out. by the way the you tube channel "for the fox god" has a wealth of babymetal live performances (including the one i mentioned) most with subtitles. they do great work uploading live videos for the fans.

Akatsuki /w full band is in my top-5. love the legato vocals while the band is going fast and hard
Great react and channel Kitsune! One of my fav solo Su's. Absolutely amazing. Man, you definitely need watch Syncopation live. Believe me, is simply Perfect! See you! 🤟🦊🇯🇵🔥🔥🔥
I think youtube blocked my comment, so I'm trying again. Sorry if this is a double post! Akatsuki is such a great song, I'm glad you appreciate it too. Personally I think it suits her younger voice a little better - you could hear her straining with some of the higher notes in the 2021 version, especially during the intro, though I do also appreciate the extra richness she brings to the lower parts there. Speaking of the intro, that's actually the original intro from the studio track that you heard in the 2021 version, which they used for live performances until Legend 1997 when they did the unfinished (read: acoustic) version. After that, they used the piano intro from the unfinished version for every live performance until they brought Akatsuki back for their 10th anniversary shows in 2021. The reason you noticed the camera shots being so spastic during the dueling guitars section is because this isn't actually the full pro-shot that was released for that show. That can't be uploaded unaltered to youtube because of copyright blocking, so someone made this video you watched by splicing in fancam footage. It's unfortunate imo that a lot of reactors end up watching these 'compilations' rather than the original pro-shots, especially since you actually can upload them with a translucent logo over them. Check out my channel and the 'Babymetal Reactor Resource' channel for some of those, with links to the versions without logos in the descriptions.
Absolutely agree that SU puts all her soul into her singing. I am a 76 year old Japanese, and yes, Akatsuki is my favourite song. If you have not looked up the lyrics, please do. This is one of those songs where lyrics do matter, along with Road of Resistance, Megitsune, and many songs from "The One". Of course BABYMETAL has many songs where you only need to "feel" the vibes such as Papaya or more recently RATATATA. 🦊
Excellent double reaction, thanks! "That's basically a perfect live performance" This!! And this time, I didn't even need to say it myself. 😁 "Akatsuki" is a perfect song and Su-metal and the Kami Band only know to perform perfectly. This is why this is one of my top favorites. In my opinion the fight scene on the 2021 version distracts from the amazing guitar solo. It's more a fan service thing, since it's a reminiscence from two previous shows. The 2014 version showcases perfectly the guitarist, which is the proper way. Just for this I prefer the 2014 version. About Su-metal, it's very obvious that these seven years have served her to mature and perfect her voice and technique. At this point, the song is pretty much retired (since Su doesn't perform solo songs anymore) and they probably wanted to pay a final homage to it. 🤘🦊
@@jarongeil-vocalcovers2484 Maybe "outside" the FoxHole but have a Tubes of You dive for ...AKATSUKI RARE1952...maybe fake but why oh why does it work ...don't old boy ingtons of many many 3's may wet him self , before tell all he was at the recording , nice old boy but got a nasty no fun side to him then we have me pick for when time comes knock on the gates ...AKATSUKI CHURCH MIX...just never ask ingtons about the very young Su audio track .
I would suggest you react to "From Dusk Till Dawn" from these same Budokan 2021 concerts. Su does something really different and interesting with her vocals in that particular song 🦊🤘
Nice reaction! The two performances differ quite a lot, regarding the details. I personally like the Budokan 2014 one a little bit better because of the very classic metal sound, and the Leda-Takayoshi solo. It´s great! The Kami Band in 2021 seemed to differ from the Kami Band in 2014. BOH is playing, I saw his 6 string bass. The drums were played by Hideki Aoyama. One could hear it. Hideki plays extremely fast, but not like Anthony Barone-fast. The guitars are different. Sound wise I would say, that´s Takayoshi Ohmura (he reminds to his sensei, Mikio Fujioka, from time to time in this song. The squeals) and ISAO playing. ISAO used a much more US-like metal sound most of the time, as opposed to Leda Cygnus. The younger Su-Metal had to put a little bit more effort in her singing, unlike the older Su-Metal, so her singing in 2021 supported by the instrumentation of 2014 would make the ideal mix for me 😉 Anyway, it´s a great, great song! And Su-Metal had a cape! 😄 Regarding ISAO: That´s why he fitted SO well for "In The Name Of" 😉 @Jaron G, a recommendation! "In The Name Of" from the Budokan 2021 concert, pls. "The burning cake" 😉 Use the version of the "For The Fox God" channel, it´s a compilation, but a well done one.
Great reaction as always! It's pretty hard not to choose the 2014 version for it's dueling guitar solos, where you can actually see them play, but it's always fun to watch the fight choreography too. I'm not sure if you noticed but that was not Moa and Momo doing that choreo. They do not appear in this song. That was two other girls, who's names I can never remember. I'm sure someone will give you the names soon.
First time to hear reactions to three versions of Akatsuki, my favourite! Thank you! This song saved me from pet loss of my dog. I had been suffering for more than half a year, when I stumbled across BABYMETAL on TH-cam, and Akatsuki (2014 version) cured me in one day. The song taught me that love for my dog does not perish when she passed away, but that that love (& gratitude) is to be cherished until the moment you cease to exist. Since then, I can see photos of my dog with a huge smile. What a song!
_Akatsuki daaaa!_ 🦊🤘🔥 Another nice suggestion to enjoy a SuMetal solo, the deceiving slow ballad intro turns out it becomes a stripped unique live version with Akatsuki Unfinished Version which you already saw. While SuMetal is performing this, the other girls are taking a break to come back after this song and perform their own songs under Black Babymetal subgroup. This is live at Budokan 2014, reaching this huge goal with only 16 and 14 yo, big international artists performed here like The Beatles among many others, so you get the idea how huge this is. This song got a tribute to X-Japan, is a power/speed metal ballad, if you want to know legendary Japanese band you should know X-Japan, Yoshiki one of the founder member was the one who suffered serious injury while headbanging during a live concert, that's the tribute in Headbanger!! song live at Legend 1997 is a must. In this song our queen SuMetal is fighting for a neverending love. Akatsuki it pronounce almost with the "u" silent so it goes like "Ah - kats- ki", it means "crimson moon" or "red moon", that's why is a homage to "Kurenai" (crimson) by X-Japan, even the beginning with that shout is a tribute to "X" live version. This is one out of four solo she has on the repertory, the other left are "No Rainbow No Rainbow", "Amore" and Rondo Of Nightmare (if you didn't), same for Black Babymetal subgroup with only YuiMetal and MoaMetal, you can find songs like "Song 4" (with Metallica riffs) at this same venue or "Onedari Daisakusen" live at Legend 1997. The Kami Band in this Black Night are the same at Rondo Of Nightmare clip: Leda Cygnus and Takayoshi Ohmura on guitars, BOH on bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums. Takayoshi is the one with the pink guitar (aka pink-chan) and was Mikio's pupil, he also got a golden guitar, everyone loves Taka. The special version live at Budokan 2021 with the grown up and more mature SuMetal vocals got some winks to another versions. Next suggestion: - Onedari Daisakusen live at Legend 1997, Gans Tomas got this clip safe to react. Apparently this month we're gonna get another new collab song of BabyMetal but this time they will be the special guests of Tak Matsumoto new band, he's former founder of B'z, a huge Japanese band, and Tak-san got also another collab along with BM with the song DA DA DANCE from Metal Galaxy, there's an official live compilation but the sound is from studio album, although that's when you will hear his guitar collaboration. See you next time and don't forget to put your kitsune up! 🦊🤘🔥
thanks for the reaction, it's nice to see the musician pointing out all the details he notices, like the bassist playing with two fingers etc, it's very interesting, unlike other youtube-reactors
Excellent double reaction, thanks for doing the full version for a start, but especially for comparing the 2014 and 2021 performances. The venue for both was the same place - the Budokan in Tokyo. The Kami Band for both performances was the Kami Band of the East - they were also all the same people - Leda Cygnus and Takayoshi Ohmura on guitars, BOH on bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums. It must have been because you couldn't see Leda and Takayoshi with the guitar duet that you thought that may have been shorter, I don't believe there was any difference. The two girls doing the fight choreo was not Moametal and Momoko (she was the Avenger but not yet an official member in 2021). They were the dancers who had supported Su and Moa on the 2018 tour when Yuimetal was still a member but unable to perform or tour with them. The dancers were affectionately nicknamed 'Muscle Metal' by the fans. They performed their fight choreo whenever Su performed 'Akatsuki' in 2018 - they came back specially for the Budokan 2021 concerts to do it again - wearing their 2018 tour costumes. There were a couple of occasions where Su-metal had a fight with her evil doppelganger twin (a dancer dressed as her) during the guitar break - I always forget if the first time was Legend D (Su's 15th birthday concert in Dec 2012) or Legend Z (early 2013). The next time "Evil Su" appeared was at Legend S in December 2017 (Su's 20th birthday concerts).
@@exoperzian12 Quite likely for some of the Budokan shows, but I had a quick look at the 'ultimate fan sheet' and I think it was Leda and Takayoshi for the two nights where they played 'Akatsuki'.
@@Grington300 That guitar looks like Isao's guitar. I know Leda and Isao both plays 8 stringers, but i have seen Isao use that guitar in other performances too. Leda uses Strandberg guitar, and that didnt look like a Strandberg.
Great reaction again! I guess it's a testament to the quality of the songwriting when you can create two very different, yet equally great versions of a song from the same source material. Regarding the two performances in this video, I think I prefer the slightly more raw sound of the 2014 performance. I'd also like to comment on the flawlessness of their performances that you mentioned: Many (primarily) metalheads criticize BABYMETAL for not being "organic" or "real", because the girls don't write the songs and haven't started as a garage band. But I think that this is precisely how their performances can reach that level of perfection. You have dedicated songwriters, instrumentalists, singer, dancers, lighting specialists, stage designers, choreographer etc, so everybody can concentrate on what they do best. Many of them are well known in their respective fields, e.g. Mikiko Mizuno, their choreographer, has created the Japanese contribution to the 2016 Olympic ceremonies, and from what I have heard, even the person piloting the camera drones at their more recent shows is competing on a championship level. And you only have to take a short look at the Kami Band musicians to realize that all of them are top of the crop. This is why everything is so perfect, in my opinion.
Another tremendous reaction/comparison. Always great informed commentary. For me I prefer the 2014 version specifically because the guitar duet is so epic. There-to me at least-was a chunkier sound to the original Kami's that always stands out. Thanks for this one.
Nice double feature! Akatsuki is one of my absolute favorites. The unfinished version brings out an emotional and sad feeling, while the full version brings the passion and drive behind that emotion. I do like think objectively, the 2021 performance was better, but I still nostalgically prefer the 2014 one 😆. *Amore* is another Su-metal solo that’s equally amazing. Best version is Wembley 2016. But you’ll need “Babymetal Reactor’s Reaource” and their logo’ed version for copy rights. 🤘🦊
Love watching your reactions, thank you as always! The biggest difference I notice from 2014 era to now is how comfortable Su-Metal sounds singing in lower register. She could hit the notes in 2014 but it felt like there was effort to it, current renditions it just flows and she plays around with the tone as she sings. Look forward to more! There is virtually nothing live you can find that won't be just consistently excellent, if you want to see some unexpected range in style check out (live versions of) BxMxC, Shanti Shanti Shanti, Metalizm, and/or Oh Majanai!. and of course for their earliest insanity of meshing styles there is iine (ee-nay).
Yeah, great call out on Su's vocals. I think I read or heard somewhere that this song actually made her nervous back in 2014. Because she didn't feel totally comfortable with the lower notes. But Su always the total pro went out and killed it anyways.
Both performances are fantastic. But I prefer the 2014 because the old cape works so much better with Su-'s choreography. Seems such a small nit compared to the epic musical performances.
Akatsuki @ Nippon Budokan:- This is one of 4 Su-Metal (Suzuka Nakamoto) solo songs. The other 3 are:- 1. "Amore" (Wembley Arena). 2. "No Rain No Rainbow" (Legend A Baptism XX). 3. "Rondo Of Nightmare with Mischief Of Gods" (Budokan Black Night) same venue. Su-Metal have a powerful peircing voice to penetrate the heavy musical instrument and still sound so clear. You should listen to X Japan "Kurenai", a legendary band from Japan 🇯🇵 which Babymetal get a lot of their inspiration from. There is a slow ballad version of "Akatsuki", the Unfinished version perform at Legend 1997 Apocalypse concert same venue as Headbanger @ the Makuhari Messe. Akatsuki is just Crimson Moon, but the original kanji for Akatsuki is the one you see in Naruto (暁). The original meaning is the time when night fall ends, or dawn. But there is a double meaning of "The time you waited after your dreams/wishes came true" . If you listen to the lyrics both crimson moon and akatsuki play a role in the song Akatsuki. Benitsuki -Akatsuki Information:- Kanji Title: 紅月-アカツキ. Romanji Title: Benitsuki -Akatsuki English Title : Crimson Moon -Dawn. Nippon Budokan (日本武道館, Nippon Budōkan), often shortened to simply Budokan, is an indoor arena located in Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan. Originally built for the inaugural Olympic judo competition in the 1964 Summer Olympics, its name translates as Martial Arts Hall in English. While its primary purpose is to host martial arts contests, the arena has gained additional fame as one of the world's most iconic musical performance venues. A number of famous rock music acts have played at Budokan. The Beatles were the first rock group to play there in a series of concerts held between June 30 and July 2, 1966. ABBA ended their last tour there. Their final show on March 27, 1980, was the last live concert ABBA performed together. Numerous acts have recorded live albums at Budokan, including Bryan Adams, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Cheap Trick, Dream Theater, Duran Duran, Kiss, Mr. Big, Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, Journey and Deep Purple. LYRICS OVERVIEW:- Crimson Moon Going over thousands nights, some love shall survive. So, until my body perishes, until my life disappears, I shall keep on cherishing this love. Shining in the depths of the eyes, the moon is about to cry. Red tears overflow and dye the night sky. In the silence, the two damaged blades stand face to face. Our loneliness and our uneasiness slash even our hearts. Going over thousands nights, some love shall survive. So, until my body perishes, until my life disappears, I shall keep on cherishing this love. In the passage of time, I keep my eyes shut. Even if the red thread flowing in my hand breaks, I still feel we are tied. In the silence, I hold the damaged blade face to face. My loneliness and my uneasiness, I slash, even my heart, now. Going over thousands nights, some love shall survive. So, until my body perishes, until my life disappears someday... Going over thousands nights, some love shall survive. So, until my body perishes, until my life disappears, I shall keep on cherishing this love. Dye crimson! Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。I witnessed the 2021 version performance at Budokan 😍. On Feb.19, 2021, Akatsuki became a very special song for BABYMETAL fans again. This song had not been performed for 2 years and 4 months, but they revived it that day. After an exciting battle choreo by the muscle sisters and a subsequent totally silent interval, Su-Metal showed up like a goddess standing solely in the center of foggy lake. It was ethereal beauty. Honestly I can not remember clearly what I saw and what I heard because it was too surprising and too mesmerizing. (Even after I viewed Blu-ray videos released thereafter) There is one certain thing, however. I felt exquisite bliss there, especially with Su's matured rich voice.
If you want to see Su-Metal's other two solo songs, I recommend Amore at Wembley 2016, and No Rain, No Rainbow at the Legend S Baptism XX show (Su-Metal's 20th anniversary).
Although the shows are seven years apart, it's pretty much the same musicians playing for both shows. The 2014 show is Takayoshi Ohmura (guitar), Leda Cygnus (guitar), Boh (bass), and Hideki Aoyama (drums). The only different member for the 2021 show is that Isao Fujita replaces Leda on guitar.
I love the little break in the 2021 version. It's like they bring back the Unfinished version just for that transition and you can hear the emotion cranked up from Su in that moment. At this point, I'm just looking forward to any BABYMETAL that you react to because I really enjoy your analysis. You've got a better ear than most reactors when it comes to catching nuances in both Su's vocals and all of the instruments... but definitely do From Dusk Till Dawn at some point, lol.
Ok fine I will subscribe. Lately I have been unsubscribing to every reaction channel that I had subscribe too because many channels don't add anything of value to the reaction. Your video was informative and fun to watch.
The camera work "sucks" on 2021 version because FTFG zoomed in the footage to be able to upload it on YT. This is pretty much the case with all Budokan 2021 performances on YT. I prefer the 2021 version, it shows Su's progression as a vocalist and the mix is just better. The 2021 guitar intro to the song is found in the original album version. I suggest Monochrome at PIA Arena 2023, as well as Doki Doki Morning, and Megitsune at Legend MM 2024.
Thanks for the triple reaction in your 2 reactions . This song is so good letting Su belt it out in a solo. You can not go wrong . Wish they bring back the Su solos to hear Su perform them with her mature voice . Maybe Moa and MoMo doinging a new song together or maybe a Black BabyMetal song . Thè first time i saw the fight courography was on a fancam from the 2018 US tour, and you could hear the audience gasp at how close the kicks and punches were from Muscle Metal in their courography 😁🔥🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼🔥
Awesome reaction dude. Akatsuki is often choosen as one of fan favorited song in polls. Another song that often picked up by fans is Megitsune, a song from their first album as Akatsuki. FYI if you watch video from a fan channel, they had to manipulating the frame (ie; zoom in or panned in to side) to avoid copyrighte detection.
@@jarongeil-vocalcovers2484hey man I see you talking about the drummer (Hideki) in this video and I see you're fan of Pokemon too. There is a video from "THE FIRST TAKE" channel when Rika Matsumoto sang "Mezase Pokemon Master" with her friends and the drummer is Hideki if you interested.
A suggestion for Su singing something different, is from dusk till dawn , budokan 2021. She sings half in falsetto, the beginning is so subtle that many reviews don't realise that it is not an instrument at the beginning.
I didn´t expected such a comparison and I am amazed :) I love both versions, in 2014 I also like the piano and the doubled solo part because it is much more connection with band members. But in 2021 Su sounds more matured and so effortless in her singing. The slow part, then blasting last chorus... She is just great ... and her STARE is a must have. Such a good performance. I´ve seen them alive in 2023 in Wien and it was the best concert I´ve ever been. It is sad, but every metal/rock fan has to admit, that this is another level because their live performances are constantly perfect. They did something unique = their compositions are at top level and we all feel that FUN and it makes us smile with positive vibes/mood. I can´t compare them to anything else. I am proud BM fan 😻thx again. Now you can try BxMxC and continue your journey. You ´ll be still surprised what they are capable of, I promise😸ou and dont forget Headbanger or Doki doki 😹
⚡ / 🔴 🌙 "Going over thousands (of) nights, some love shall survive. So, until my body perishes, until my life disappears, I shall keep on cherishing this love. Dye crimson! Dye bloody crimson!"
About the mixing, I don't know about the DVD/Blu-ray, but the live album was done by award winning Ted Jensen. I think she has the death stare: because she killed it. 🙂 In the 2021 performance she sings until my my life disappears and she sings it with passion and the stage lights up in fire. I always love how they combine different elements like that. When you said it's a perfect performance in 2014, I'm reminded of the interview she did: Q: We just finished our interview with Yuimetal and Moametal and they both said that the BudouKan shows were a turning point for them. How was it for Su-metal? Su-metal: Ever since I wanted to be a singer from when I was a little girl, the BudouKan was always a dream-like place. So in that sense, when we stood on the stage at the Budouakan 2 years ago, it was like, ‘Oh, my, I am actually here’. Q: Didn’t you have the realization that you were actually there at the BudouKan? Su-metal: I don’t think I really realized it. The stage that I envisioned myself standing on when I became a singer since I was a small child was thh BudouKan DEATH! Q: So, you mean the image you always had in your head was of you performing at the BudouKan? Su-metal: Yes, that’s right. It was truly a dream-like place for me and so I didn’t feel like I was actually performing there. I mean, I performed the first day, went home and performed one more stage, you know. (laughs) Q: Uhmm…hah?! I don’t really understand what you are talking about. Su-metal: I performed one more stage at the BudouKan in a dream that night. We performed our first stage and then I went home and went to sleep. When I woke up in the morning I had at that point already performed at the BudouKan for 2 days, you see. (laughs) Q: (laughs) Su-metal: It took me a bit after waking up to realize that today the second day of performance was still hanging out there. I have a strong memory of coming to the realization that, ‘Oh, wow, I get to perform at the BudouKan one more time!’. Q: On the first day at the BudouKan there was that happening that occured with Yuimetal and, including that incident, did it seem to you that there was a heightening of sense of the togetherness of BABYMETAL? Su-metal: If I had to speak of the 2 days individually I would say that the first day had about the sense of, ‘Wow, well, we have made it to the BudouKan!’, and so we had the feeling that more than enjoying the experience we really had to do our utmost to put a professional show. In the pre-show rehearsal we had to focus on memorizing where we needed to stand for each song and things like that and so were unable to actually do much dancing. And perhaps because of this I was not so confident about the first stage. And so, for me the first day’s stage was not a very satisfying one for me. Thinking about it now, I am very happy that the BudouKan shows were performed over 2 days. Q: Did you get more of a sense of satisfaction from the second day’s performance? Su-metal: Yes, I would say so. I think that is why had a dream of performing at the BudouKan after we finished our first day. Q: I see! Su-metal: If I am not satisfied with the performance, I watch a dream…in the dream everything goes extremely smoothly. On the second day’s performance the actual show played out exactly as I had seen it in the dream the night before! Q: So, you mean after you woke up the next day everything went well as if it was a repeat of the dream? Su-metal: Yes! So for me, the BudouKan was a 3 day performance DEATH! (laughs) Q: Saying this in a good way…Su-metal has not changed at all. (laughs) Su-metal: (laughs)
I love all versions but 2014 is my favourite as this is not Suzuka Nakamoto singing this is the Metal Goddess Su-Metal. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥🦊 I wish more bands would embrace theatrics during their performances on stage it just makes for a much better show.
After the "tempo change", I felt that the full version instantly changed back to the unfinished version. Su-metal’s vocals also convey emotions like an unfinished version of sadness. Then the drums speed up again. Su-metal's singing also instantly changed back to the full version of emotion. It was BabyMetal's 10th anniversary show. The producers included various highlights from previous performances of AKATSUKI into this performance. Su-metal also uses the singing skills she learned to convey different emotions. Thanks for your great reaction.
2021 notice she's on a red moon (akatsuki), still the avenger era, "muscle" dancers for the guitar duet, they were still without a permanent 3rd member.
Maybe I'm wrong, but in 2014 Mikio's presence maintained the experimentalism and jazz refinement. Unfortunately, in 2018 he passed away. I love the original versions with him. It was very subtle and refined. There's always piano and other surprises. There were guttural sounds and quotes from Japanese folklore. May his influence be recovered someday. 🦊🦊🦊
2014 is the better version for the following reasons: 1- Queen Su-metal gives her 100% every time, so it's a tie there 2- 2021 shoddy camera work, when Su pauses and delivers the iconic death glare, the camera it's on the side, not at front so we can see her eyes and face expression, wth! 3- 2021 On the break, instead of Leda Cygnus and Takayoshi Ohmura doing their awesome act, we get two girls fighting... which makes no damn sense, this is not IDZ, this is a love song, maybe about a difficult love but it's an eternal love as clearly stated in the lyrics. 4- 2021 on my headphones the drums are at the front while Su is singing, I'm not here to listen to the drums ON TOP OF Su's voice, the mixing it's ugly there. The band intros are the time to put the drums or any other instrument at the front, not when Su is singing, thank you. 5-The bloody masks on the musicians, oh how I hate those! The most idiotic idea never explained, with the Eastern Kamis the girls were the protagonists and the musicians participated in the show hyping the public too, there was never any doubt of that. We know the current Kami Band is composed of westeners, ok, fine, no problem, there's no need to hide their faces, the old spirit-paint would work as well, or come up with a new make-up theme, but masks? Budokan 2014 all the way. 😊
Nice reaction! "Akatsuki" is the song that made me become a BABYMETAL fan. Queen SU looks great in both red and black dresses. Super duper coooool🦊👑
@@yunametal344 thanks! Agreed! 🙌
Nice double reaction!
I like your analysis! I find out new things that I didn't notice even after dozen of reactions!
Appreciate that! 🙌
agree wish the piano was in 2021. the stop then restart slow always gets me emotionally.
For sure!
Definitely! 🤘🤘

@@jarongeil-vocalcovers2484 Thank you so much for uploading an awesome video ! From 🇯🇵👍x10...🤘
my favorite babymetal song with su solo. as for the best version, i'm kind of in the middle. not 2014 or 2021, but for me it's the version from the fox festival 2017. su is closer to the band, and the venue is smaller. so it feels more like a rock concert in a club than an arena spectacular. the duo guitar solo also has the late Mikio Fujioka who was incredible.
Nice! Sounds awesome! 🤘
@@jarongeil-vocalcovers2484 it is! you should check it out. by the way the you tube channel "for the fox god" has a wealth of babymetal live performances (including the one i mentioned) most with subtitles. they do great work uploading live videos for the fans.

Akatsuki is probably the most popular song, especially among Japanese fans, and it is a song that symbolizes SU-METAL. She always sings with her soul.
Every superhero should have a cape. 🦊🤘🔥

Awesome!! 🤘🤘
@htusda1 san, perhaps you already know, kitkat san is also Japanese.
great reaction.
I recommend "From Dusk Till Dawn" for its amazing vocals by Su and epic performance by Babymetal.
For sure! 🙌
Excellent double reaction, thanks!
"That's basically a perfect live performance" This!! And this time, I didn't even need to say it myself. 😁
"Akatsuki" is a perfect song and Su-metal and the Kami Band only know to perform perfectly.
🤘🦊
That makes sense! Definitely agree! 🤘
Su's voice just keeps getting better 🤘
Ain’t that the truth!

I would suggest you react to "From Dusk Till Dawn" from these same Budokan 2021 concerts. Su does something really different and interesting with her vocals in that particular song 🦊🤘
Sounds dope! 🤘🤘
The younger Su-Metal had to put a little bit more effort in her singing, unlike the older Su-Metal, so her singing in 2021 supported by the instrumentation of 2014 would make the ideal mix for me 😉
Anyway, it´s a great, great song! And Su-Metal had a cape! 😄
Regarding ISAO: That´s why he fitted SO well for "In The Name Of" 😉
@Jaron G, a recommendation!
"In The Name Of" from the Budokan 2021 concert, pls. "The burning cake" 😉 Use the version of the "For The Fox God" channel, it´s a compilation, but a well done one.
Nice! Thanks for suggesting! 🙌
Love this track. Babymetal makes me smile. So proud of them.

Minako Maruyama and Minami Tsukui (known to fans as "Muscle-metal").
Of course they originated the 'Akatsuki' fight scene during the 2018 tour.
I didn’t think so but it was hard to tell with their masks on!
That’s awesome! 🤘

_Akatsuki daaaa!_ 🦊🤘🔥
Another nice suggestion to enjoy a SuMetal solo, the deceiving slow ballad intro turns out it becomes a stripped unique live version with Akatsuki Unfinished Version which you already saw.
Next suggestion:
- Onedari Daisakusen live at Legend 1997, Gans Tomas got this clip safe to react.
Nice! Thanks for suggesting! 🤘🤘
Akatsuki 2021 > 2014. Su was perfect in 2021! 😍

I love all versions, only the 2021 performance Su's voice is more mature❤️
Definitely! 🤘
何百回聴いてもこの曲は涙が出ます
I can see why! 🤘
I believe 2021 had Isao in place of Leda.
@@exoperzian12 That's right.
ISAO performed at all of the 2021 Budokan shows.
@@exoperzian12 As Rick said, you were right, I got the wrong column on the spreadsheet (Leda and ISAO are right next to each other)

🤘🤘🤘
Great reaction again! I guess it's a testament to the quality of the songwriting when you can create two very different, yet equally great versions of a song from the same source material. Regarding the two performances in this video, I think I prefer the slightly more raw sound of the 2014 performance.
I'd also like to comment on the flawlessness of their performances that you mentioned:
Many (primarily) metalheads criticize BABYMETAL for not being "organic" or "real", because the girls don't write the songs and haven't started as a garage band.
Definitely agree!! 🤘

Appreciate it! Thanks for the suggestion! 🤘🤘
Both performances are fantastic. But I prefer the 2014 because the old cape works so much better with Su-'s choreography. Seems such a small nit compared to the epic musical performances.

Akatsuki @ Nippon Budokan:-
This is one of 4 Su-Metal (Suzuka Nakamoto) solo songs. The other 3 are:-

LYRICS OVERVIEW:-
Crimson Moon
Going over thousands nights,
some love shall survive.
So, until my body perishes,
until my life disappears,
I shall keep on cherishing this love.
Shining in the depths of the eyes,
the moon is about to cry.
Red tears overflow
and dye the night sky.
In the silence,
the two damaged blades stand face to face.
Our loneliness and our uneasiness
slash even our hearts.
Going over thousands nights,
some love shall survive.
So, until my body perishes,
until my life disappears,
I shall keep on cherishing this love.
In the passage of time,
I keep my eyes shut.
Even if the red thread flowing in my hand breaks,
I still feel we are tied.
In the silence,
I hold the damaged blade face to face.
My loneliness and my uneasiness,
I slash, even my heart,
now.
Going over thousands nights,
some love shall survive.
So, until my body perishes,
until my life disappears someday...
Going over thousands nights,
some love shall survive.
So, until my body perishes,
until my life disappears,
I shall keep on cherishing this love.
Dye crimson! Dye bloody crimson!

(laughs)
Q: Uhmm…hah?! I don’t really understand what you are talking about.
Su-metal: I performed one more stage at the BudouKan in a dream that night. We performed our first stage and then I went home and went to sleep. When I woke up in the morning I had at that point already performed at the BudouKan for 2 days, you see. (laughs)
Q: (laughs)
Su-metal: It took me a bit after waking up to realize that today the second day of performance was still hanging out there.
(laughs)
Q: Saying this in a good way…Su-metal has not changed at all. (laughs)
Su-metal: (laughs)
Good to know! 🤘
I love all versions but 2014 is my favourite as this is not Suzuka Nakamoto singing this is the Metal Goddess Su-Metal. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥🦊
I wish more bands would embrace theatrics during their performances on stage it just makes for a much better show.
Agreed!! 🙌🙌
Awesome! Thanks for watching! 🤘🤘
2021 notice she's on a red moon (akatsuki), still the avenger era, "muscle" dancers for the guitar duet, they were still without a permanent 3rd member.
🤘🤘
SU-METAL's voice stimulates our lacrimal glands, doesn't it?😭
For some people for sure!! 🤘🤘
I like the idea of everything cutting out and pausing briefly, I just think that the pause it just a little too long.
👍👍
Maybe I'm wrong, but in 2014 Mikio's presence maintained the experimentalism and jazz refinement. Unfortunately, in 2018 he passed away. I love the original versions with him. It was very subtle and refined. There's always piano and other surprises. There were guttural sounds and quotes from Japanese folklore. May his influence be recovered someday. 🦊🦊🦊
It was Leda and Takayoshi in both 2014 and 2021 performances. I don't think Mikio played either night at the Budokan in 2014.
@@Grington300 Oh, yes! Thanks for the correction. They are excellent too.
@@marcoskazu_ No problem ... all the Kami Band members are so good.🤘
@@marcoskazu_ I was wrong about 2021 - it was Takayoshi and ISAO.
🤘🤘
The drummer is Hideki Aoyama in 2014, while the one in 2021 is Anthony Barone.
I am pretty sure it was Hideki and the eastern Kami band at the 10 Babymetal Budokan shows.
In 2021 it's also Hideki.
This song is BRUTAL!.
Oh yeah!!
This is a different drummer on this version.
Sadly, baby metal went more pop/electro....they are still pretty good but not compared with their beginnings
🤘🤘

I think the fighting ninjas are totally wrong for this song. Don't know why theydid this.
2014 is the better version for the following reasons:
1- Queen Su-metal gives her 100% every time, so it's a tie there
2- 2021 shoddy camera work, when Su pauses and delivers the iconic death glare, the camera it's on the side, not at front so we can see her eyes and face expression, wth!
Fair enough! 🤘
The fighting choreography during the guitar work has existed since Legend Z in 2013.
