Thanks for coming back with this special SuMetal solo and version at their hometown, cutting onions ninjas around everytime she sings this beautiful song. NRNR is an X-Japan tribute to Endless Rain, is like a response or a silver lining, Endless Rain was the inspiration for Guns N' Roses - November Rain, that's why you can get the same vibes. Cool thing you could upload this without so much filters to avoid copyright blocked because usually is heavily blocked. There's a "kamishibai" (narrated intro) before this song that relates Hiroshima sad past events in history with this song. She being from Hiroshima and granddaughter of Hiroshima bomb survivor, this was really special for her. A gorgeous hard rock ballad from SuMetal solos and BM in general, performed at Legend S Baptism XX 2017 20th SuMetal birthday it was a special concert due to many factors and many fans always get sad about it, me too of course, is a bittersweat live concert and once in a lifetime too. It was the last time Mikio Fujioka-sama played with BabyMetal before he past away and first live concert without YuiMetal, so many feelings. (R.I.P. kokami)🙌 She sang this at 10 Babymetal Budokan 2021 with our queen "playing" the piano, it really surprised the audience with the unusual silence break. She supposed to sing this song during first album but she felt not ready to sing it with all the emotions needed, that's why is included during 2nd album later on. There's a live version at Legend 1999 (2013) with Yui and MoaMetal celebrating their birthdays, isn't the best version since the guitar sound and mix are a little bit off but is good in terms of visual and a special moment being a live premiere. SuMetal said that this guitars solos is one of her favorite parts, quote: _“I feel that the guitars in this song sound as if they’re really singing the melody, and I just really enjoy it."_ Like you probably already know, Japan got many other tragedies and natural disasters in history, like the 2011 earthquake, Suzuka Nakamoto (aka SuMetal) remembered that sad days and connected with Hiroshima past events, saying: _"I believe that persistently doing little things bit by bit as they come up will grow into a great power someday. The city i live in Hiroshima has itself been totally destroyed and then restored. This happened long before i was born but i have seen through pictures that Hiroshima went from a place with someday we will be able to look back and be almost unable to believe the destructive scene that we see now."_ She's our queen for a reason, she touches our heart on every way. ❤ If you don't know X-Japan - Endless Rain, then is a good opportunity to know some songs from them, trust me they rock and are BM's inspiration for a reason. Always nice to see you keep coming back with more BM songs, may the Fox God bless you and see you next time 🦊🤘☔☀️🌈
When Suzuka performed this song at age 16 (I think), she said she was not mature enough to do justice to the song, so she did not sing until 2017 for her 20th birthday (this video) When this video was taken, no one knew Mikio Fujioka (guitarist) would pass away only a month later, but when this recording was edited, Mikio was already in heaven, so as you can see they overlap image of Mikio playing the guitar as Suzuka sings,"even though we will never meet again, I will never forget... and if this is all a dream (of being with you), then I never want to wake up..." 2:50 - 3:13 I believe it is okay not to know the lyrics for certain songs, BUT for this one, I feel lyrics are important. And there is this other thing... This concert was the first time YUI-METAL could not be there, and along with her first live in her home town (Hiroshima) on her important 20th birthday featured live show, with memories of what this song is about, she broke down when performing only in front of core fans. However, for this concert, although she almost broke down again, she was able to hold it and became (in my opinion) her best performance of this song. Her choreo teacher (as well as mentor) = MIKIKO, taught her that a singer must be able to feel the emotion in a song, but at the same time a singer should never cry on stage. Suzuka performed at the maximum point here, and is why I tear up every time. Yes, sir, we are allowed to tear up! 🦊
@@rickwagner- Thank you, Rick. I know she also sang this in 2014 @ Budokan, but I was mistaken about her next performance being in 2017. It was in 2016 @ Tokyo Dome.
@@htusda1 Tokyo Dome was a very interesting set of shows. They performed every song from the domestic (Japanese) editions of the first two albums. The only album song they skipped was 'From Dusk Till Dawn', which was on the International release of 'Metal Resistance'.
This song has a special significance, as someone has probably told you, it was the first show Yui couldn't perform because of the injury that finally put her out of the band, and it is also the last show Mikio Fujioka performed with Babymetal, weeks before he had his fatal accident. So we are listening to his last notes in the band. Also in the early versions of this song it had been loosely tied to the bombing in Hiroshima, and in this show, being Hiroshima Su's hometown and this her birthday special, it was done in Hiroshima Green Arena. So, also pretty special in that sense.
When Su was in elementary school, she promised to never cry on stage under the guidance of choreographer MIKIKO. She still follows it to this day. Here she looks as if she is singing with all the sorrow of the world on her slender shoulders. This was the first time Yui was absent from a concert. It was also the last performance by guitarist Mikio Fujioka.
I think there's a single tear coming down in 'Akatsuki (Unfinished ver.)' but that doesn't count as crying 😉 Still imo an even more emotional performance than this, so I'd strongly recommend 🤘🦊🤘
@@AxeSwipe2011 Wasn't that from Su's graduation? (Nendo 2012). And the one laughing wasn't Rinon? 🤭 During the 2011 graduation Su was visibly devastated due to Ayami's graduation. 😭
Nice reaction, l'm totally mesmerised by Su metals onstage personna, her voice, facial expressions, movements everything. I grew up with hard rock and metal so l always have a bias to guitar based tracks so this duel solo is perfect. It's probably Babymetal which has rekindled my original love for metal something l had lost over the last 25 years.
Another beautiful reaction; thanks, Johnny! As others mentioned, the Legend S show was held in 2017 to celebrate Su-metals' 20th birthday in her hometown of Hiroshima. It was and is very special since it was the first show with Yui absent and the last show Mikio performed with Babymetal before her early passing. RIP, Mikio!!! The Legend S show was exceptional on all levels, with the stage setup, the costumes, the band, the addition of the violin players, and the piano- everything was beyond imagination. Not many reactors pick this version since it is usually blocked by Amuse. Great job getting it up! For me, this is the most emotional performance of NRNR. You can see Su almost crying at one point before returning to Su-metal and continuing. Since you are already so deep into the foxhole, check out another beautiful and emotional performance: "Akatsuki - unfinished" from the Legend 1997 show (get your tissues ready, since there will be onion-cutting ninjas around).
Excellent reaction.🦊I'm sure you must have been told everything about this song and performance by now, how Su wasn't happy with her first performance in 2013 and that she felt she was concentrating so much on getting the lyrics right and hitting the notes that she wasn't understanding or expressing the emotion the song deserved, so she didn't feel ready to record it for the first album (she was 15 and contrary to what fans of other bands might say, she already clearly had some say in what they were doing). Only when she saw people in the audience crying at another performance (which must have been Budokan Black Night in 2014) did she realise her voice could effect people emotionally ... she recorded it for the second album. The Legend S performances are incredible, they pulled all the stops out for Su's 20th birthday in her home town of Hiroshima with live piano and strings on stage for the first (only?) time ... and the video editor did a good thing - it can be no coincidence that as Su sings the line "We shall never meet again, but I want to not forget you for ever" that the camera focuses briefly on Mikio Fujioka (RIP).😢
Mikio, the little god... his guitarplaying was brilliant, but I also will remember him for his always smiling face. The little man, with the big smiling face
That part, after the guitar solos, when Su sings with those sad eyes and her lilting cracking voice gets me every time. Then you see her eyes go from sad and watery to a look of power and determination. The power in that moment is in how subtle it was.
I saw this posted 40 minutes ago but hesitated watching it as I knew perfectly well what was coming 😭 I caved and watched it. And then I crumbled. Su really is very special.
Great reaction! This is one of the BABYMETAL songs that I have heard countless times over the last years, yet still have to get through without crying. Su's eyes during the last verse in this performance are killing me! But it's not just that, there's something about the guitars as well. I listen to lots of guitar music, but very rarely does it touch me like the dual guitar solos in this song do. No idea why... Back when I discovered BABYMETAL, I was a little nervous when I listened to this song for the first time. I loved them for their uplifting, energetic music. But I'm also a sucker for good ballads. I was so glad when it became obvious that they deliver in that area as well.
John, your tears are beautiful. I understand that you are a kind person.Yui is gone from this concert.and Mikio…. SU's expression was so sad that I cry every time I watch the Blu-ray of this concert.
I wish sometimes I could witness them for the first time again and then you see and hear these songs that you haven’t seen in a while and it’s like you found a misplaced gem.
All of Su's solo songs are amazing. "Akatsuki-Dark night Carnival" probably being my favorite of all. The "unfinished" version is just her and a piano. I swear she's balling her eyes out by the end of it. And I'll warn you, when you get to "Amore" it has a version with her on top of the jumbotron at the Tokyo Dome
The opening of this "Legend S" show, "In The Name Of" is the most epic performances of any concert ever, in their Japan shows Babymetal doesn't put on a show they put on a spectacle. The production value on "ITNO" is off the charts, even the big boys would have a hard time matching it. There is no good video on TH-cam of it so it would have to be sourced else where but it's not to be missed, TH-cam does have versions of "ITNO" from BM "Budokan 2021Live" that although not as epic is still jaw dropping.
Thanks for this reaction. Su-metal delayed it being put on the first album, because she felt she couldn't put enough emotion into it yet. So it's on the second album. Some have said, maybe X-Japan was inspired by Prince's song: Purple Rain to write Endless Rain and maybe Guns N Roses was inspired by X-Japan or Prince or both to write November Rain, but we do know Babymetal in this early years put in references to X-Japan. So that's the most obvious direct connection there. About her singing in general and her technique, this is a comment on the First Take of Monochrome: I was born with bilateral sensorineural hearing loss. I can't hear sounds well, including vowels and consonants. I've seen many singers, but SU-METAL is the first one whose lyrics I could hear so clearly. I was shocked by Sonisphere in 2014, and my life has changed in many ways, including going to a lot of live shows even though I don't go to live shows, and buying expensive earphones. There are many things I don't like about my hearing loss, but I would like to thank SU-METAL for giving me the joy of listening to songs.
Beautiful SU and her beautiful voice. ❤️She sings not only with her voice but also with her expressions, movements and her emotions. ❤️ Thanks for your great reaction.
Thank you for sharing your reaction! For those of you with high sensitivity, I recommend the songs commonly referred to as the Trilogy of Light. My favorite is 'Shine'. That song is perfect, and you will be blown away by the emotion of SU-METAL that penetrates through any kind device(as always).
Great reaction, thanks! This has to be my favorite live performance ever. Because it's not my favorite song and even so, it destroys me emotionally. Okay, you didn't cry... but wait until you know this (Legend-S) was the first concert (or series of concerts) without Yui (unexpectedly) and the last one with Mikio playing with the Kami Band right before his untimely passing. As you already know, Legend-S was performed in Hiroshima, Suzuka's hometown. This performance of "NRNR" had an intro (kamishibai) about the horrible consequences of the nuclear blast for the population. You should watch it. I never got over Legend S. I have the Blu-ray and everything and I just managed to watch it once (I've watched this one and "In the name of" many times tho). Watching the rest of the show still feels impossible for me. It's just too much. 😢 🤘🦊
It did make me cry, I never cry much, never have really, not even when my father died. So for me to tear up like I did shows that the song is really emotional.
You don't have to rank music in a certain order, but enjoy it as it reaches you. Often I hear people say at a show things like: "I liked the first band better". I always ask if they had a good time with the last band? Did they have a good time with the first band? Then don't complain, you just have seen two great bands. What more could you ask for? I could never pick my favourite song from Babymetal, or the Clash, or the Jam, or the Radiators from Space, or Black Market Baby or Crucifix or whatever great bands I know. Just enjoy, because life is all about emotions: sadness or fun. From Joy Division to Madness. Musically Babymetal is about one of the best bands from this century, and lately I play nothing but Babymetal. It touches my heart very direct
"Akatsuki (Unfinished ver.) | LIVE at Legend 1997", is the one that ALWAYS gets me emotional. Partially because of the setting of the performance, but I think it's mainly because it's a slightly more tender sounding song.🤘🦊🤘
Ooooooooh! 😱 The "Legend S" version!!!🥲 It´s another VERY beautiful version, and very rare to see somebody reacting to this! "The Queen" Su-Metal as we know her, getting all listeners into being emotional. Mikio Fujioka and Takayoshi Ohmura at their finest, playing such sweet harmonies... epic. Together with the over-the-top production of this concert, it´s such an experience! Thank you very much!
Amazing, the emotional weight of this song is even heavier in hindsight, knowing that this was the first show in almost 8 years (Dec 2017) where Yui stopped performing (and will never return), and within a month, Mikio passes away. This is the best version of the song, although all other versions are great as well. I'll go cry now... PS, Babymetal is re-releasing Legend S on BluRay again, may want to considering buying it! It's an amazing show, despite the "awkwardness" of just Su and Moa on stage. 🤘🦊
Monochrome and No Rain, No Rainbow are both beautiful songs. As for a favorite the correct answer is either. Both is also an acceptable answer. ‘The One’ is, as well, a contender for the “beautiful emotional song delivered wrapped in Kleenex” designation. Then again, if Su sings it I like it, so don’t take my word for it. Check it out for yourself. Great review, Johnny.
I'll recommend From Dust Till Dawn again, as it really highlights Su's capabilities as a vocalist. The other one I recommend is my favorite song of theirs; Catch Me If You Can. A silly fun song that embodies what BM was all about at the start.
ありがとう🦊 As everyone will probably comment, Legend S, SU's 20th birthday celebration, is in many ways a special concert for BABYMETAL itself and its fans. Among them, NRNR is a special one. It's just my imagination, but I think SU was singing with YUI in mind. I have the Blu-ray of this concert, but I can't watch most of it because I imagine the thoughts of many people. My interpretation is that the God of the West, who is now working together with SU, was bumping into each other to enhance each other, while the God of the East at this time was leaning on SU to harmonize with each other to complete the song. From🇯🇵
Thanks again 有難う💛。 We are moved by this song because we are human beings. I am Japanese but my nationality and literacy do not have distinct advantages to feel the emotion stirred by Su-Metal and Kamis. Su's voice and Kami's guitar sound resonate with the bones in my whole body. This was filmed in 2017 and BM revived this song in the last two shows of 10 BABYMETAL Budokan in 2021 with Su's more matured voice. As an eyewitness of those shows at the venue, I can tell you that it was literally heartbreaking and made me forget to breathe. This 2017 version, however, may be still the best for me although BM always say "the latest is the best". It may be so because of the last appearance of Mikio (RIP) with Su. 😢
I noticed at least two other commenters have mentioned Akatsuki (Unfinished version) from the Legend 1997 show. It's a beautiful piece of music and I don't want to spoil the impact by talking about it too much. BUT you will cry... at least I do every time... It's raw Su-Metal. Glad you enjoyed No Rain, No Rainbow. It's one of my favorites as well.
This is more the classic rock ballad while Monochrome is more on the metal side. Akatsuki, another Su solo song, is the exact opposite to No Rain, No Rainbow as it's a power metal ballad. I'm never sure if Su (and Moa and Momo) are such great actresses or the emotions are always real. Because Su looks so sad, alone and vulnerable when the guitar solo starts and she walks down the stairs. It might also have to do with Yui not being able to perform this special show (Su's 20th birthday was less than three weeks later). Here are the translated lyrics. Just to let the tears flow even more: Why can't I sleep? Why does the night end? I don't want anything, even tomorrow, the future without you. Why was I smiling? Why so though feeling lonely? Nobody knows that I really just wanted you to be by my side. Even the despair becomes the light. Though an endless rain continues to fall. Even the despair becomes the light. A sad rain throws a rainbow far far away. We shall never meet again, but I want not to forget you forever. If the dream continues, I wish I'll never wake up from it. Why was I smiling? Why so though feeling lonely? Nobody knows that I really just wanted to see you. That was all. Even the despair becomes the light. Though an endless rain continues to fall. Even the despair becomes the light. A sad rain throws a rainbow even now. An endless rain fills my heart forever.
You fared better than I did. But then, I know this was Mikio's last concert and that Yui was absent and that this was in Hiroshima and I've read the lyrics. XD This one always turns me into a snot monster.
I've heard this song "No Rain No Rainbow" hundreds of times before watching your video, but I forgot to give it a thumbs up 👍️ because once again it is an inspiring song. Sorry W.
Bro….My brain. I read your comment. Instantly pictured that stupid techno rave Arnold video, except it’s Arnold, Electric Callboy, and Babymetal. What has been mentally seen cannot be unseen. I have you to thank for this. 🤣🫢
This whole concert was beyond bittersweet. It was supposed to be a super joyful time celebrating Su’s 20 the birthday. However this was the time when Yui had become unable to continue. This was the first show without Yui. I think all of team Babymetal were so surprised and blown away that they were just running on adrenaline. It really shows in Su’s eyes. They didn’t know if this was the last Babymetal show. 😖
😭 Simply beautiful and heart wrenching performance by our Queen. Great reaction sir. As others already suggested, next should be "Akatsuki unfinished version" from Legend 1997 concert. ❤🦊🤘
Thank you for your wonderful comment. The backing band "KAMI Band" has changed quite a bit up until now, but the members from this era were the best, and were world-class members. As an aside, this performance was in Hiroshima, where Su-Metal is from. "Hiroshima" is famous for being the first city in the world to be hit by an atomic bomb, and countless civilians became victims. It was a genocide. I think Su-Metal felt this tragedy when she sang this song. This song has only been sung a few times, and is rarely sung. Peace is important. (Using translation software)

Very cool!!! This show (Legend S) has an extra emotional charge for Babymetal fans. It's a recording and a blu-ray/dvd, a great show, but Yui declares that she will step aside for health reasons. The show takes place with just Su and Moa on stage, doing the choreography as if Yui were in their position. Moa had to sing the Black Babymetal songs that were performed alone, and the fans participated as if they were trying to fill the gap due to Yui's unexpected absence. Was realy a big show. Enjoy Babymetal!!! 🤘🦊🤘
You've GOT to react to From Dusk Till Dawn live. I wouldn't say it's emotional in the same way that this song and Monochrome are. But it is one of the most vocally impressive things that you can hear from Su. It's incredibly unique, even for BABYMETAL and they have only ever played it live a handful of times. If you're looking to cry again, look no further than Akatsuki (Unfnished ver.). Though you might want to react to the normal version of Akatsuki first.
Lots of metal singers have got range and power (Tarja or Floor), but Su's one of the few singers I know that can be that expressive of emotions in her singing. She's not just a vocalist.... That's one of the many reasons I like her, she doesn't just sing a song, she performs it... From facial expressions, to her own interpretive dance moves, its a whole package.... If a western pop singer sings a sad ballad, they might just lower their eyes a bit, a slight frown... When Su does it (like in Akatsuki Unfinished or No Rain No Rainbow), you can hear the cracking of her voice, the slight choking back a sob, the sad tearful expression...Then the light changes, her eyes and whole demeanor changes. Better than some hollywood actresses. 🤘🦊🤘
So far Johnny is the only other reactor, besides Luke from G.O.T Games, who comes close to getting as emotional as Alan from Dicodec. They all are able to really feel the music and the emotions that Su-metal expresses with her singing, and this is why all 3 of these guys are fantastic reactors!🤘🦊🤘
You are kind to say. I love music and listen to it every day, but I'm not so knowledgeable, and if you haven't noticed I often find it difficult to express my feelings.
Legend S in Hiroshima is a very emotional milestone .😭 I think if Aerosmith made a version of this song it will a Grammy Now I gonna watch some Sponge Bob to recover 🤘😭🦊
reminds me of some of the great power ballads of the 80s/90s by the likes of Bon Jovi or G'N'R, but they were in english! Su is the only one to get me to tear up when i dont understand a word thats being said. Never mind Queen Su it should be Su Empress of Metal. Also for another emotional song there is Akatsuki, both unfinshed (piano) & finished- like monochrome
Another great reaction. I said a few videos ago that Su's voice has brought a tear to my eye on a few occasions, and i just realised it's during performances of 1 song for each album. Akatsuki, No Rain no Rainbow, Shine, Monochrome. Following that pattern, there should be a song on album 5 that has the same effect.🥲 If you get context about their performance of 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' at Sonisphere 2014 (and you really do need context for that one), it's possible you may start shedding tears of pride as well.
NR, NR is my favorite Babymetal song, and honestly one of my favorite songs of all-time. I'm a big 80s music nut, and that's probably why. I will say, I'm not as happy with the recent collabs as most fans, and probably the main reason is I've become such a Su fanboy and she doesn't do as much in the last couple songs. (Though I will say the part in Ratata (where she's saying about acting a little devil) is absolutely next-level.)
Fun fact: This was the last BabyMetal show to feature Mikio Fujioka as lead guitarist in the Kami Band. He passed away a few months after this show due to injuries suffered in a stargazing accident in Dec of that year.
This version of the song is a concert in Hiroshima,Su’s birth place. This song feels like a requiem for the citizens who died in the atomic bombing on august 6,1945.
Thanks for coming back with this special SuMetal solo and version at their hometown, cutting onions ninjas around everytime she sings this beautiful song.

There's a live version at Legend 1999 (2013) with Yui and MoaMetal celebrating their birthdays, isn't the best version since the guitar sound and mix are a little bit off but is good in terms of visual and a special moment being a live premiere.
SuMetal said that this guitars solos is one of her favorite parts, quote:
_“I feel that the guitars in this song sound as if they’re really singing the melody, and I just really enjoy it."_
Like you probably already know, Japan got many other tragedies and natural disasters in history, like the 2011 earthquake, Suzuka Nakamoto (aka SuMetal) remembered that sad days and connected with Hiroshima past events, saying:
_"I believe that persistently doing little things bit by bit as they come up will grow into a great power someday. The city i live in Hiroshima has itself been totally destroyed and then restored. Also in the early versions of this song it had been loosely tied to the bombing in Hiroshima, and in this show, being Hiroshima Su's hometown and this her birthday special, it was done in Hiroshima Green Arena. So, also pretty special in that sense.
this song makes me cry every time, Suzuka's voice carries such power and emotion...
This one gets me every single time, no matter how many times i hear it. Absolutely beautiful.
Thanks for the message, Some sorrowful memories of that concert.
I think there's a single tear coming down in 'Akatsuki (Unfinished ver.)' but that doesn't count as crying 😉
Still imo an even more emotional performance than this, so I'd strongly recommend 🤘🦊🤘
Sakura Gakuin 2011 Nendo Graduation counts? 😢
@@road-runnerMoa: I said I wouldn't cry....eaaaahhh!
Su: Nene's standing there next to you laughing! 😂
@@AxeSwipe2011 Wasn't that from Su's graduation? (Nendo 2012). And the one laughing wasn't Rinon? 🤭
During the 2011 graduation Su was visibly devastated due to Ayami's graduation.
Many thanks for your comment.
That one guitarist is out of this world, RIP.
RIP Kogami
Fujioka Mikio-sensei will never be forgotten. At least as long as we live!
Mikio, the little god... his guitarplaying was brilliant, but I also will remember him for his always smiling face. The little man, with the big smiling face
I believe this is also why this video feature him more than other songs
Another great one. You cried. :P haha There will be more tears along the way. The foxhole is deep Johnnyson.
She had the ability to fill me with emotion.
That part, after the guitar solos, when Su sings with those sad eyes and her lilting cracking voice gets me every time. Then you see her eyes go from sad and watery to a look of power and determination. The power in that moment is in how subtle it was.
Great reaction...love this song so much..always get shivers everytime SU METAL sings the song....
Many thanks
Thank you Johnny Boy, I cried with you!
This song makes me cry like a child
A special moment, the Queen is back home. Long life Majesty✨
I saw this posted 40 minutes ago but hesitated watching it as I knew perfectly well what was coming 😭
I caved and watched it. And then I crumbled.
Su really is very special.
I agree with you.
Many thanks for your comment.
John, your tears are beautiful. I understand that you are a kind person.Yui is gone from this concert.and Mikio….
SU's expression was so sad that I cry every time I watch the Blu-ray of this concert.
That is kind of you to say Yuna, thank you.
SU-METAL's 🎤voice stimulates my tear gland 😭😭😭.
One of my favourite songs. Very moving. Thanks for reacting to this.
About her singing in general and her technique, this is a comment on the First Take of Monochrome:
I was born with bilateral sensorineural hearing loss.
This was a lovely message, thank you!
Beautiful SU and her beautiful voice. ❤️She sings not only with her voice but also with her expressions, movements and her emotions. ❤️ Thanks for your great reaction.
Many thanks
🤘🦊
It did make me cry, I never cry much, never have really, not even when my father died. So for me to tear up like I did shows that the song is really emotional.

I teared up a bit as well. It hits even harder with the English lyrics.
Torrential rains came after this performance RIP Mikio Yui and Mikio's memory will live on forever with BabyMetal
It's amazing to me that this song has only ever been performed live seven times. It's such a great song, it's a shame they don't play it more often.
Su’s entrance to this concert is one of the most metal entrances ever. If someone could upload it for you, it would be epic.
Oh yes they pulled out all the stops for Legend S. How to celebrate turning 20.
Very good song💯
Btw Foxfest live ratatata just uploaded, very cool 😎
When I have a hard time, I always listen to this song.
And after crying for a while, my soul is fulfilled by God's blessing.😀
Amazing, the emotional weight of this song is even heavier in hindsight, knowing that this was the first show in almost 8 years (Dec 2017) where Yui stopped performing (and will never return), and within a month, Mikio passes away.
This is the best version of the song, although all other versions are great as well.
I'll go cry now...
PS, Babymetal is re-releasing Legend S on BluRay again, may want to considering buying it! It's an amazing show, despite the "awkwardness" of just Su and Moa on stage.
🤘🦊
R.I.P. MIKIO 😭 GREAT GUITARIST 🇯🇵 🦊🤘
You and I have the same policy: “if Su likes the song I like this song” 😊😊😊
I'll recommend From Dust Till Dawn again, as it really highlights Su's capabilities as a vocalist. The other one I recommend is my favorite song of theirs; Catch Me If You Can. A silly fun song that embodies what BM was all about at the start.
This song will bring charles manson to tears.
its just her voice, her age... its just that innocence and sweetness.
RIP to one of the most underappreciated guitarists I can think of Mikio Fujioka
👍 👍
Great reaction.
Suzuka's vocals have such an ethereal quality.
I never tire of hearing (and watching) her perform.
Many thanks, I agree, she is a wonderful singer.
ありがとう🦊
As everyone will probably comment, Legend S, SU's 20th birthday celebration, is in many ways a special concert for BABYMETAL itself and its fans.
I believe now I know some of the history of this song, it will fill me with even more emotion.
One of my favourite tracks from BABYMETAL. Gets me every time 😥
I'm not crying, you are crying! 🦊🦊
Nobody tell him about Akatsuki (Unfinished). His heart won't be able to take it.
SU-METALの目力よ😭
Akatsuki (Unfinished ver.) is the only logical next step of emotional performances.
Just to let the tears flow even more:
Why can't I sleep?
Why does the night end?
I don't want anything, even tomorrow,
the future without you.
Why was I smiling?
Why so though feeling lonely?
Nobody knows that I really just
wanted you to be by my side.
Even the despair becomes the light.
Though an endless rain continues to fall.
Even the despair becomes the light.
A sad rain throws a rainbow
far far away.
We shall never meet again,
but I want not to forget you forever.
If the dream continues,
I wish I'll never wake up from it.
Why was I smiling?
Why so though feeling lonely?
Nobody knows that I really just
wanted to see you. That was all.
Even the despair becomes the light.
Though an endless rain continues to fall.
Even the despair becomes the light.
A sad rain throws a rainbow
even now.
An endless rain fills my heart
forever.
Fantastic, thank you for the translation. I know a little Japanese, but maybe only understood 10% if that lol
You have been dragged deeeeeep in the Fox hole...😂 Like myself hahaha
You fared better than I did. But then, I know this was Mikio's last concert and that Yui was absent and that this was in Hiroshima and I've read the lyrics. XD This one always turns me into a snot monster.
5:22 su-metal がわずかにほほ笑む瞬間、虹が見えている(絶望が光になる)この歌のテーマだと思う。あなたの事は決して忘れない私は(私たちは)強く生きてゆく。
It was a beautiful moment.
I let somebody else to write about the embedded sadness of this version in particular.
Hey kudos for not losing it when Su's eyes tear up at 4:33 after the guitar solo. You're stronger than I am....
I've heard this song "No Rain No Rainbow" hundreds of times before watching your video, but I forgot to give it a thumbs up 👍️ because once again it is an inspiring song. Sorry W.

This show of emotion makes it even more special. Sometimes beauty can spawn form hardship and strife.
The meaning behind this song and concert and watching Su try and keep it together hurts to watch in the most beautiful way...❤❤
There's a version with translation/captions, you will weep even more. Check out the other versions (older one, mixed recent ones).
It's so beautiful I can't even cry.
Thank you for the message and info.
詳しい事は他の人が説明してくれるでしょう。それを踏まえてもう一度観てください。彼女の芯の強さを感じる曲だと私は思います

Believe it or not, I don't cry much, so I'm amazed it can make me tear up at all.
Yeah,that's right❤❤Great reaction

This is the last show we can get to see Mikio Fujioka.
if you want more songs from babymetal that will make you feel the emotions, I'd recommend listening to "the one" next!
I'm loving them so far.
Akatisuki still makes me cry harder and shine
SU-METALは今でも美しいがこの頃のSU-METALは美しすぎたんだよ、、いろいろありすぎた頃だしね、、朝からもらい泣きしました😢
Cool message.
Su indeed performs with every inch of her body and voice.
Pop singers struggle with ballads.
Absolutely. It's a joy to watch all 3 of them react.
bro. check PTB Empire react to this song.
You are kind to say. I love music and listen to it every day, but I'm not so knowledgeable, and if you haven't noticed I often find it difficult to express my feelings.

Babymetal “Akatsuki” unfinished version next!
My eyes are just sweating a little bit 😢
reminds me of some of the great power ballads of the 80s/90s by the likes of Bon Jovi or G'N'R, but they were in english! Su is the only one to get me to tear up when i dont understand a word thats being said. Never mind Queen Su it should be Su Empress of Metal.
Also for another emotional song there is Akatsuki, both unfinshed (piano) & finished- like monochrome
この曲はhiroshima nagasaki の悲し歴史へのrequiemなのです、、、
Another great reaction.
I said a few videos ago that Su's voice has brought a tear to my eye on a few occasions, and i just realised it's during performances of 1 song for each album.
Akatsuki, No Rain no Rainbow, Shine, Monochrome.
Following that pattern, there should be a song on album 5 that has the same effect.🥲
If you get context about their performance of 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' at Sonisphere 2014 (and you really do need context for that one), it's possible you may start shedding tears of pride as well.
For me, this isn't as big a tearjerker as Akatsuki (unfinished).
Another tear-jerker, lol
And isn't this the day they got the message that Yui could not be there?
NR, NR is my favorite Babymetal song, and honestly one of my favorite songs of all-time. I'm a big 80s music nut, and that's probably why. I will say, I'm not as happy with the recent collabs as most fans, and probably the main reason is I've become such a Su fanboy and she doesn't do as much in the last couple songs. (Though I will say the part in Ratata (where she's saying about acting a little devil) is absolutely next-level.)

Fun fact: This was the last BabyMetal show to feature Mikio Fujioka as lead guitarist in the Kami Band. He passed away a few months after this show due to injuries suffered in a stargazing accident in Dec of that year.
not so fun fact 😢
Im going to guess not a native English speaker. Not a "Fun fact" at all
Sad fact
This version of the song is a concert in Hiroshima,Su’s birth place. This song feels like a requiem for the citizens who died in the atomic bombing on august 6,1945.
su-metal の声がエレクトリックギターの音に合っていて 時にどちらか判別出来ないこともあり とても心地よい サビの部分になると ス―の声がパワーアップして感情に突き刺さってきて痛かった
