It was their 10th anniversary concert and they played 33 songs. This was song #27 and yes, the energy was at this level the entire show. They are as legit as they come.
well, I wouldn't say they're at this energy, the MC moments give you a break, and some of the ballads are chill. but there is a huge majority of the show that is like this, yeah.
@@evilducks3710 Whatever you say bud.
@@billb.5183 When the Maids went all the way around the walkway of the arena it was so they could be a little closer to me in England...Probably.😏
@@evilducks3710 Was there (from LA) and yes for 3 1/2 hours never sat down (and I'm old) until the MC's. They used the whole arena as a stage, to include the 2nd level walkway (as you may have seen in the live feed). You got to see them live, Po! 🦍🍌
@@evilducks3710 When omajinai time we're at this same energy too
Great reaction guys!! They are amazing and really making a splash in the world!
As a native of the Chicago area, I'm so happy to see Band-Maid get featured on here! I've seen them live four times now with one of those being in Tokyo and they are always incredible! Thank you for checking them out 🤘
ooh also seen them in Tokyo (with The Warning) back in June! Best concert ever! ♥
Love your group reaction! Most questions have already been answered (and yes, there's drums solo too sometimes - there was actually one during this concert).
Great reaction thanks!
Their fan base is growing around the world and the band very supportive of its fans!
These ladies will melt your face with their genre of music! Roger will not steer you wrong.
🤘🕊️🦍🥷👸🏻👀PO!
Thanks for the reaction, from a Maidiac!
I woke up at 3am to watch this concert live streamed, last November. It was at this sort of insane level of skill and energy for near on four hours---though there are, of course, slower songs, and a great deal of diversity in their sound. And brief intermissions, for addresses to the audience, and a film retrospective for their 10th anniversary.
I caught them live in the US, last August---and heard this same built-out version of HATE?. This is them, what they sound like.
Sorry in advance for writing a novella. Hello neighbor!!! I'm a Chicagoland guy myself, so I'm marking down October 8 on my calendar. I've seen MANY an epic show at the Vic. Band-Maid has been by far my favorite band for almost six years now. I'm an ex jazz trumpeter who normally goes for prog, jam band and jazz, but the combination of things these ladies bring to the table is just ridiculous. This was not the last song, but was played well over 2 hours into a show lasting over 3 hours. It was their biggest show ever - and largest crowd - celebrating their 10th anniversary together. (no personnel changes the whole time.) The actual last song was one that will leave fans in tears (it's on their channel, so how about another date with the maids?). It has a massive singalong part. I've seen them three times, once in San Diego at an HOB (crowd was insanely loud) and twice in 14 hours in Chicago (they played an Aftershow the night before at Park West). Their solo shows are worth flying to Japan to see - not joking. Thanks for checking them out!!!
I forgot to mention the name of the song I was talking about. It's called endless story official live from their channel.
Welcome to the world of Band-Maid!!!😀
Congratulations on finding the band many of us Masters & Princesses believe is arguably the best on planet earth 🌍 today!! 🔥
Yes, they should be known worldwide and playing a residency at the Vegas Sphere!! 🙌🏼‼️⛩️
Welcome to the Pigeon the Hole that is Band-Maid!! 🕊😂
In fact, your life has just taken a step in an incredibly positive direction by finding Band-Maid! 😀
They are a remarkable collection of five incredible musicians and performers that know few genre limitations and always put a smile on the faces of their audience when performing a “Service”.
They have 100+ fantastic songs and should be playing stadiums all over the world, imho. Any one song, as great as it may be, like “Hate?”live from their 10th Anniversary Concert at Yokohama Arena, are but the tip of the tip of the tip of a distant gleaming iceberg of excellence!
Next? You NEED to hear their latest release - a collaboration with the Mexican Villarreal sisters of The Warning ‼️
- “Show Them” - OMV - pure 🔥
What these 8 legendary musicians have created together is nothing short of spectacular!! It should probably be the next Grammy’s show opener!
There are a lot of us Masters & Princesses who grew up with bands The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Santana, YES, RUSH, AC/DC, Metallica, Guns N Roses, The Who, U2, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, (& others) who have become Maidiacs because we find many of the same qualities in Band-Maid’s music we found in such giants of the Classic Rock era. As have many younger people from the grunge, alternative, independent and pop-punk eras. Band-Maid members have influences across the music spectrum including Alternative, Classic Rock, Post-Grunge, Metal, Punk, Punk-Pop, Pop, even classical musical training, and the influences of many great Japanese rock bands and pop acts.
Yet, Band-Maid succeeds in creating a genre all of their OWN!! Stay with the journey and I’m sure you’ll agree. You’ll stop comparing them to anyone else as you’ll see no comparisons are useful. The Maids are the trailblazers not following in any particular footprints but all over the rock spectrum.
They have great MV’s, both studio and live, on their official channel.
For next typical recommendation, as others will say, is to see more of them LIVE. There are more official live videos from their November 2023 10th Anniversary concert at Yokohama Arena
- “Unleash!!!!!” - OLV
- “Don’t You Tell Me” - OLV
And the emotional show closer,

Then watch:
- “Onset” - official live video (2017), instrumental magic
- “Play” - official live video (2018)
Then I recommend you jump several years forward to some newer songs to see how they’ve developed since then. They’ve grown in every aspect over their years.
This band does not stand still!!! They have a few commissioned Anime songs
- “Protect You” - OMV (2024)
- Shambles” - official MV (2023)
They released the “Unleash” EP in September 2022 and have three OMVs to die for, including

- “Unleash!!!!!” - official MV
- “From Now On- official MV, more instrumental magic!
I think you’ll like them and be blown away by their evolving talents in composition, arrangement, instrumentation, orchestration, playing, performance and all around joy 🤩

And it’s happening…from their 2023 US Tour by stealing the show at Lallapalooza! See the

Hopefully, they come back somewhere near you in the not too distant future and you’ll have a blast if you go see them!

Loved all your reception and reactions to Band-Maid. Band-Maid loves their fans and they would encourage you to do a cover. All these girls are super talented, and they have zero ego. Their love is performing live to their fans.
Thank you for checking out the band that re-ignited my love for music 4 years ago! Now over 130 original songs in their catalog and not a single one should be missed. I was fortunate enough to see them 6 times in the U.S. in 2022 and 2023. (And 2 times were in Chicago - one each year.)
And if you really want to learn more about the members and their origins, there is an excellent set of VERY professionally made documentaries by Ohrenje.
I saw them in LA twice in 2019 just before the World closed. It was memories of those shows that gave me the strength to get thru it so I could see them again.
First of all, thank you, Lauren, for featuring Band Maid, the world's greatest Rock band. Special thanks to Valley! I will be there for your next Chicago show!
I'm a lifelong Chicago musician in my 60's. I've seen all the "greats" live in concert since the mid 70's. You name it, I've seen them all (easily over 500 concerts).
Band Maid is BY FAR the greatest band I have ever witnessed in concert. I've seen them three times in the past 2 years here in Chicago and they never cease to amaze me. They never run out of energy and give 110 percent every time they hit the stage. Their musicianship is just staggering, and best of all... the SONGS!!! Every composition is a masterpiece. Their catalog of music is deep and fascinating. The way they mix Japanese lyrics with English is brilliant. Please go to their Official TH-cam page and check out more of this amazing band. The only disappointment you might have is that you didn't discover them sooner. Peace, Love, and Rock n' Roll !! 🤘😎
Thank you for checking out our ladies! Great reaction! ♥
Band-Maid !! That was so cool to see you all enjoying my favorite band😆
Welcome & thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 My wife & I witnessed this very performance at the venue on Nov.26, last year. Very exciting 3-hour-40-minute-long show with 33-song setlist. (Happy fatigue thereafter 😄)
Band-Maid is one of the best bands in our country, especially in live performance. We say "Japan is the country obsessed by Rock Music". The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.)
Hi Q101,
welcome to the world of Band-Maid.
Hope to see more Band-Maid here in the future.
From Now On one of their 4 instrumentals will FREAKING BLOW YOUR MINDS

You would love a drum solo? Well, we have an answer for that. Freedom Live.
Also, for Valley, they also do acoustic versions of their song, and they're incredible. I think you'd love them.
Yes! I was treated to a very special acoustic set with Valley, coming to youtube soon!
Thanks for checking out BAND-MAID, we Maidiacs appreciate it. 🤘
In return, I'll go and check out *Valley.* I'm sure I can find them here on youtube, but you should put a link to their info/socials in the description or in a pinned comment.
The best hard rock band in the world!!! Welcome!
Thank you for reacting to Band-Maid! Please continue down the Pigeon hole. You'll not regret it. Extremely deep and diverse discography. Buckle up and enjoy the journey! PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘
Oh Lauren, thanks! Finally! I saw them in HOB in 2022 and at Park West in 2023! :D
Best rock band on the planet. Yes, they're at this level all the time. They just released a collaboration with The Warning too. This concert (Yokohama Arena) if available on disc if you're interested in the whole concert. It's totally amazing, GLORY live will blow your mind, in fact, watch anything live from any concert. REAL EXISTENCE live is pretty hard core too. They also have several very mellow, very beautiful songs. You might also want to try Lovebites, my #2 favorite all female Japanese group that plays heavy metal. Band Maid is hard rock which is my favorite thing. Lovebites will blow your ears off too.
Thanks, for the positive reaction to easily one of the best hard rock bands in the 4D cosmos. Their songwriting is so consistently great that you can create your playlist just by randomizing their catalog. They played Lallapalooza last year in Chicago, and capped off their tour at Yokohama arena. There are a couple others from this very same concert, but some next steps might be From Now On, Warning (MV), Shambles, Puzzle, Manners, Black Hole, etc.
Hi there! You got a sub because you gave Band-Maid a positive push forward ❤
Best live rock band on the planet. Seen them live multiple times....must see live
There's an amazing drum solo in their official live video for their song Freedom - since you said you wanted one 😁 Akane is their drummer and amazing isn't enough of a word to describe her. I love this band so much, all of them are absolutely masterful musicians and their music is so fun, thanks for reacting to them! ☺
Red Rose Miku, Sept. 14, 2017, interview: At the Band forming nobody in our band had done "Hard Rock" so we had started without knowing anything - we have grown greatly musically as a Band.
FYI, the song with The Warning was released this past Wednesday and is available NOW.
Thanks for checking out the Maids!
Yes they do tour the globe, recently in 2023 toured the US.
😃😃
Iconic, yes. But just another day for the Maids. Best rock band out there. Just want to say that I really enjoyed the reaction. I would like to see more reactions where young upcoming music groups can react to bands like Band Maid and the Warning. They are truly inspirational and if you get to know what they had to do to get where they are you will be inspired even more. Good job.
Such a cool song, and an amazing performance 🙂
Thank you for reacting to our obsession band

When you give it your all & leave nothing behind to achieve something you love doing then you can't ask for anything more. B-M do that with every song.🤗

The original 5 are in their 11th year together.
They are all prodigies and extremely dynamic. There are over 100 songs in their catalog and so many videos of them in casual settings where you can really get to know them. We Maidiacs are just crazy for them and support anyone who shows them love. You won't be sorry checking out more of their music, for drum solo try FREEDOM for starters.
This show 33 songs in 3+ hours. Welcome to the wonderful world of Band-Maid and their fans (Maidiacs).
So, right after restrictions were lifted to tour, Band Maid did a tour here in the US. I got to see them in DC. Just an absolutely amazing vibe. But they actually wrote a song for the US fans as a Thank You. This band is just on another level. And their stories are incredible. It's a deep dive and trust me, it's so well worth it.
Outside Japan, they'll play a 20 song set. Within Japan, 23 song 2+ hour set. This particular show was the finale of their 10th Anniversary tour and was 33 songs and over 3 1/2 hours long. They rip even harder bin Japan than outside, being more rested and comfortable.
Yes, their energy is high but they do take breaks. The rhythm guitarist talks to the audience and hers is a great story about their origin. This show was three and a half hours long. It was for their 10 year anniversary and they have a catalog of over 120 songs. They cross genres. Akane (drummer) is actually wearing shorts but in a frilly "maid" kind of look. "Limp Gymnastics" is exactly what you think! 😆! MISA (bassist) has a move where she tucks the pick under her index finger to move from picking to slapping. She also plucks and taps too!
Lauren, thank you for introducing your fans to the Maids. Spread the word please and let your fellow DJs know about them. I'm off to check out Valley now. Peace!
I was chuckling to myself how blown away you were in the first two minutes or so and I was thinking wait until the Bass/Guitar section with Misa and Kanami! 😊
And yes, “10 minutes of limp gymnastics” is precisely what you thought it meant! 😅
The sheer amount of all female bands coming out of Japan, of many genres, is staggering.
BAND-MAID the top tier of the top tier of rock, what a fcken band Po 👍🍻
Great reaction and welcome to bandmaid ,check out freedom live if you want a drum solo and smiles
Your right Band-Maid calls their fans Masters and Princess's everyone else calls us Maidiacs =) I was lucky enough to see them twice in 2023 they really have the best live shows ! Please check out "Real Existence" Official Live Thanks Nice Reaction !
They are rock and roll guardian angels and the best hard rock band on this planet🤘Keep an eye on them!!
I heard about them just after they played HoB Chicago in 2022, sold out show. They played at the Park West venue the night before their Lollapalooza show. That show ended @1:00am and then 12 hours later they were killing it on stage in 90 degree heat. I saw them in Minneapolis 2 days later, sold out and amazing. 🤘
Thanx for checking out our maids
The best live rock band on the planet...maybe ever.
First things first, the Maids actively discourage moshing and surfing, Miku the boss Maid is all about peace and love, no one gets hurt, they are one of the best touring "hard rock" bands in the business today
Is that why there is a video of Akane surfing and Saiki disappeared into the crowd and surfaced without her high heels leaving Miku to finish the song they were performing. Followed by Misa serenading her for her barefoot leap into the crowd po.
Not the last song. This was the 27th song. The last song was the 33rd song, 'Endless Story'. It was a 3 1/2 hour show with no opening act. But, if you want a drum solo, you have to check out 'Freedom' LIVE. And definitely check out the BAND-MAID & Warning collaboration song, 'Show Them'.

Band Maid! 🔥 🤘🏽
You ain’t seen nothing yet
Best rock band nowadays, by far, without any doubt. Real legend.
Thank you for all your wonderful comments. Band Made's main guitar, bass, and drummer skills are world-class. Of course, the vocals and chorus are also the best. The lead guitarist has composed over 130 songs, and the side guitarist writes the lyrics. Surprisingly, there are no duds. Last year, they toured 15-16 locations across the United States, which was a big hit. This video is one of the 33 songs they performed in a 3.5 hour one-man show. This group is currently one of the world's top rock groups. Many people around the world say that rock was perfected in Japan! Unlike previous rock, the chords are diverse and there are quite a few key changes. There are many world-class rock groups in Japan. For example, Love Bites and One OK Rock. There are countless others, so please search and enjoy.🤩
They toured the US in 2023, 14 cities. Including Chicago that sold-out in 10 minutes.
Drum solo - "Freedom"
The 10 minutes of limp gymnastics means exactly what you think it does
😮
RIP to all the guys that can only do less than 2 min. 😢
When the song first came out on the EP, I saw a translation online that said: "Ten minutes of shitty exercise"
Kinda like that one, too.
Saiki: So I wanna do You're So Vain, but also spend the entire 2nd Verse talking about how bad he in bed...
Okay, names, pronunciation, nicknames, and roles, in order that they joined the band.
Miku Kobato - mee-koo - Kuruppo, the Little Pigeon, the Little Engine Who Will - band founder, backing (and occasionally lead) vocals, rhythm guitar, principal lyricist, tireless Spokespigeon and PR machine. Wielder of weapons grade cuteness. Poker shark and horse racing fanatic. So determined to see her band succeed that she fired herself as lead singer (she decided her voice wasn't strong enough for hard rock), then went looking for a replacement. Learned to play guitar after the band was formed. Definitely eccentric, possibly insane.
Kanami Tono - kah-nah-mee - Kanamincho or just Mincho - lead guitar, keyboards, principal composer and arranger. On stage, she's a savant mad riffer with a room temperature IQ and a huge crush on Saiki. In reality, she's a genius, and not just musically- she has a degree in economics with honors. A sweet, motherly woman who turns into a beast when you hand her a guitar.
Akane Hirose - ah-kah-neh - A-chan, the Gorilla - drums, sequencing, snacks, the leader the band doesn't have. What you see is what you get- a cheerful jock with a huge appetite who burns off the calories murdering her drums. Completely unflappable. Frequently snacks between songs. Has been known to sign her banana peels and throw them to the audience.
MISA - mee-sah - the Barefoot Assassin, MISA MISA MISA! - bass, booze, occasional wet work. Usually stone faced. Barely acknowledges the audience's existence. Always has a beer or a bottle of Jim Beam on her Orange amp. Originally, these were ways of coping with stage fright. These days, that's just how the assassin rolls.
Saiki Atsumi - sah-ee-kee (but Psyche is close enough) - the Ice Queen, Sensei, Sai-chan - lead vocals, some lyrics, the "We're done" girl. Fashionista and train nerd. Regards her band mates, especially Kanami and Miku, with bemused exasperation. In total command on stage; hides behind Miku off stage (she's actually kind of shy).
Usually I think these are cringe, but I rather enjoyed this one, thanks
@Rhaegar19 Thanks! And you're welcome.

Her signature model is a PSR CUSTOM 24-08 Trampas green smokeburst only 200 guitars are on sale for the price of 6000 $ each.
This was the last show of their 10th Anniversary Tour, but not the last song. That would be ENDLESS STORY.

Plenty more where that came from ;) They have a huge catalogue, no misses….you have a lot to discover. When you have had a good dig in that rabbit-hole you might like to take a look at Lovebites, another premier all-female metal band.
Do you want to see a drum solo ? Freedom live is your video. I saw Band Maid in Dallas in October 2022 .I flew from Wisconsin. They advertised their 1st show in Chicago two weeks after I bought my tickets.
Why Band Maid is the best
First their music, obviously. These ladies have genius level Talent on their respective instruments and vocals. Kanami is the Einstein of Rock and Miku is the Shakespeare of lyrics. So many great bands from the beginning of Rock till now have had songs that were truly bad. Band Maid has no such thing.
Second is their relationship to their fans. They truly love and appreciate their fans even writing more than a couple songs showing that.
Next we have their Humanity. Each one of these ladies represents the best of the human race. They are kind and humble to their fans as well as each other.
Lastly is their dedication to their craft. They put an incredible amount of attention to detail in every single one of their songs. Every member contributes to the crafting of their amazing music.
Thank you for checking out Band-Maid.
The band is in it's 10th year and have the back catalogue of over 100 songs.
Thank you Rodger Chance.

Well next you can do the new video of Band-Maid with The Warning collaboration! Two top of their game bands together for one song! I really wanted to see Band-maid last time they were in Chicago but had some health issues :( I'm hoping they come again soon.

Hey folks...nice reaction to Hate by Band-Maid...I have had the privilege to have seen Band-Maid 4 times in concert.,,twice in 2019 in New York City and in 2022 I saw them in New York City & Boston....and those 4 shows were the best I ever saw in my 65 years of existence...I'm based in Montreal and had tickets for their show in Tokyo when C-19 hit...it was their big Budokan show...everything was cancelled of course...still if they come to a city near (or far) do not hesitate go see them you will not regret the time!
Thanks....Peace & Respect from Canada
Welcome to the BandMaid experience. The greatest proper rock and roll band of the 21st century. Here's some opinions and facts:
•Bass solos are more likely to happen than not
•Guitar solos are shorter, far shorter than you would like them to be
•Unless you are superhuman, you will not/ can not be able to pick up everything they're doing to make that song great on the first listen.
•Genre? Genres?? We don' need no stinkin" genre!
•If you like a hard rocking crazy fast tune? Well how about it done as a slower acoustic version? They do that.
•The linchpin member of the band gets the least notice/praise. The Mighty Miku Kobato founder/lead singer steps back to make way for a new more hard rock vocalist. They want her to hold a guitar so she does and learns to play on the fly, performing all the while she's learning. So the person who willed the band into existence, who is the primary lyricist, the only member who sings and plays an instrument most of the time gets the least comments from reactors. Oh yeah she has her own signature model guitar from Zematis.
•10 plus years with the same line up. Think about that.
•More hooks, riffs and motifs in many songs than most bands have on an album. Check it out. No hyperbole.
•Use of puns, wordplay using homophones between Japanese and English are not the exception. They are typical of Kobato's lyrics.
•Despite the fact that their LIVE videos are superior to the official studio MV"s the latter are excellent. Funny, graphic, innovative and stunningly beautiful works of art describe what you get with BandMaid's official MV's.
•As close to the Beatles in terms of unique persona of the members as any group since the Monkees. MISA is quiet and drinks. Akane is happy and eats, Miku is klutzy and CUTE, Kanami is an airhead who crushes on Saiki and Saiki was the Ice Queen. But the Ice Queen has thoroughly thawed. See Yokohama's Endless Story! Their image is carefully crafted or spontaneous or both.
•Many songs have catch phrases or singalong sections to engage the audience. Many songs are in English and Japanese. Most songs are full of joy as well.
•They're having a ball. They enjoy performing. They enjoy the fans. They enjoy each other.
•Make no mistake, this is not a regular band.
So Kara. You wanted a drum solo? Check out their live video "Freedom". You will love what Akane does. And you will see why her nickname is, Gorilla.
Definitely Freedom for an epic drum solo...
THE best Hard Rock band on Earth. Think that covers everything. Apart from maybe adding that this was the 27th song of their 33 song setlist. Japan has many respectful things attached to music - no phones allowed at live gigs and no-one asks for an encore as it would imply the band hasn't given 100% already (though the bands announce the last song as such). PS Since drum interest was high, try this video I created of the isolated drums from this epic call and response section - th-cam.com/video/Lc6hy30kUlE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=B4eY4OSND49NWzQg
Band-Maid got me back into rock music and I love them for it. If you're interested, their collab with The Warning is out, titled "Show Them". Wonderful collab!
Drum solo you say? Akane (Drums) did a drum solo 2 songs before Hate?, which was #27 of 33. That freestyle solo transitioned into "Blackhole," which is their most spirited prog rock song at 220bpm. I think Akane was taking a break and settling down in the pocket during Hate? To me, Akane is a World class athlete, Po! Thanks for sharing, and after doing The Warning, try Band Maid with The Warning, Po! 🦍🍌
I've seen them 9 times in the US in the past two years including the 3 Chicago shows. 4-10 hour drives for each. High-energy, fun shows. The band is always having a blast and so is the crowd. Incredibly deep back catalog of great songs.
Good job!!
They take little breaks during the shows to talk and joke with the audience. Plus they do some instrumentals to give the singer a break. Most of their shows are over 20 songs. This one was 33 songs!!! They are primarily hard rock with maybe a punk influence. But also play with other styles, including acoustic. They played in front of 20,000 people at Lollapalooza. This one was 8,000 people
For a drum solo, Freedom.
Thank you all so much for your positivism. Look forward to checking out your music!
Best band in the world.^^
They tour the US regularly. I saw them live twice last year on their US tour. They always sound amazing. And Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin saw them live in Japan in 2016 and insisted on meeting the drummer.
I'm pretty certain that Band-Maid's members would be very willing to sit for a Q101 interview. They are repped by UTA in the U.S. Just make sure you have a good translator.
Although Hate? isn't FCC radio friendly due to one of its lyrics, I hope that Lauren will be motivated to use whatever influence she has to persuade the program director (if Lauren herself isn't in that role), or whoever else at Cumulus decides what bands and songs are included in Q101's rotation, to add Band-Maid songs that are "safe for radio" to that rotation.
😁Great reaction !!!!! Thanks for the screenshot ...🕊🍌🍻☕⚾
This is absolutely my favorite Maid song. Awesome band. Tons of great bands coming out of Japan. Didnt see Lovebites in your video catalog. They are also from Japan and are another great female Japanese band 🔥🔥
An hour and a half would be a short show for them, usually at least 2 hours plus. Also they unveiled this version of Hate? In Chicago in their Lollapalooza pre show the night before their fest show. I was front row right in front of the bassist MISA and was literally floored. The next day they unleashed upon the world at Lolla and I was also there front row and just as floored.
I saw them last summer in Salt Lake City of all places. They were(are) amazing live. There is every bit this much energy with every song. At the end of 2.5 hours, you are just in another places and left wondering where am I and what did I just see. It almost like being stoned. It took me 45 mins. to just be able to drive home after that concert. If and when they come to the US again, I am there, I don't care where it is, and If there are multiple venues, I will make at least two more of them. They really are that good. If you ever have the chance to see them live it - is a must you drop everything and go. Kiss the job goodbye, forget the funeral, kiss off your mother's birthday, whatever, JUST GET THERE!!! BTW this wass not their last song that nigjht. They finished with a very emotional song to their fans everywhere, and this is something I have never seen any other band do. I'm in my seventies and have seen Zeppelin, Stones, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Aerosmith, GUns N Roses, all live and even more and believe me Band Maid is as good as any of them. These women are incredible and there are songs that are even faster and every bit as good as this. Check out "Black Hole", "Freedom" (drum solo), "Domination", and an instrumental banger"From Now On", but there are so many more too. They are such great musicians and I love Saiki's voice and the energy and charisma she has singing. There is a series of documentaries on each member of the band by a fellow in France called Ohrenje. They are very good and you get to know them each so well from these, even as kids growing up and then seeing their individual drive to make it in the music business. Great react by the way and I am now a sub and looking forwar to more Ms ONeil.
This was their 3 1/2 hour 10th anniversary show. Not all their songs go this hard, but a lot do. They also have some slower stuff, more ballady stuff, etc. and they chat with the audience occasionally too.
Dunno when they'll do another US tour; they'll probably hit Japan first after the album and then they owe Europe some love, it's been years. We might see them again late 2025, or maybe 2026?
For a drum solo check out Freedom. The drummer also did a great solo at this show, but they didn't release that as an official video, you have to buy the tour bluray or something.
As an Alternative Rock station, perhaps next check out their Collab video with Mike Einziger from Incubus, called "Bestie"
Thanks Lauren, and to your guests! I would love to see you react to more. Pleeeeeeeease! Subbed!
MANNERS !!!!----play Manners !! whether live or studio----grrrrreat, either way !
Welcome to the club Masters and Princesses. The music scene in Japan is absolutely on fire, Band Maid is my favorite rock band that I've heard, also love the metal scene and the J pop is pretty killer as well. Check out Freedom from Band Maid for that drum solo, you will not be disappointed.
Wow, what a wonderful reaction. I just feel respect for this outstanding artists here - nice to see and thanks. Band-Maid is an experience live. If you have the chance to see them, do it. I saw almost all the greats live Band-Maid is easily up there on the very top of it. My absolute favorite band since 10 years now.
