I'm an old grumpy American guy with a dead heart, BUT when they performed this song for Su's graduation ceremony, I got emotional since they all got emotional too. AND their good bye speeches to Su really hit me hard! Yeah, I never expected Sakura Gakuin or BABYMETAL to do that to me!🤘🦊🤘
So.. Yui and Moa - Auditioned together - Were always "competing" for who was the biggest - Dynamic duo perfect to join Su on Babymetal. - Moa has always been protective of Yui and Su.. there are some interviews and videos around where you'll see that these 3 girls were the perfect match to start Babymetal. Yes, Babymetal club was a thing.. with Su's gradutation "it left" Sakura Gakuin and became a real band. Since we're in Sakura Gakuin.. and if you want to go deep into tears.. Graduation Toss - On Graduation day show. There's also Sakura Gakuin speeches in 2012. Su and Mariri Sugimoto(Girl with the side pony tail) graduate. Even in this video here, when the girls are lining up, you see Moa nearly start to tear up on the left side.
🌸 🏫 / 🎓 'My Graduation Toss' was written for Sakura Gakuin by Tomoko Kawasa (Tommy february6) and Shunsaku Okuda. They were also the main creative force behind the group The Brilliant Green. The same pair also brought us 'Heart no Hoshi'. This is (in my opinion), the best Sakura Gakuin song of all time. Especially if you watch the 'Rakusa Clan" version: th-cam.com/video/50hE3tt9eJE/w-d-xo.html Of course SG has a lot of great songs written by other people. All of the girls playing instruments in the room while Su was singing on the vintage microphone knew how to play those instruments, although they didn't provide the music for any Sakura Gakuin songs, other than an acoustic version of 'FRIENDS'. IMPORTANT NOTES: Sakura Gakuin wasn't actually a school. It was a school themed Idol group, that included sub-units based on school clubs. The sub-units included Twinklestars (The Baton Club), Mini-Pati (The Cooking Club) and BABYMETAL (The Heavy Music Club). Sakura Gakuin began in April of 2010. Yui and Moa officially transferred-in in August of 2010, and BABYMETAL recoreded their first song at the end of October 2010. 'My Graduation Toss' was released as a single on February 27, 2013 and was included on the album 'Sakura Gakuin 2012 Nendo: My Generation' which was released (along with the music video) on March 13, 2013.
I feel you. I never ever expected watching or listening to something like this. And even less that I liked it. I'm not a SG expert but here are a few answers: - SG wasn't an actual school. It was a school themed j-pop idol group formed by girls between 10 and 15. - SG didn't predated BABYMETAL since they started as a club, a sub-unit within SG. They were Juonbu, the heavy music club. - Suzuka was the only senior that year (nendo 2012) and she graduated in March 2013 alongside Mariri Sugimoto who graduated earlier to pursue her modeling career. - Some of these girls can actually play the guitar like Moa, Yui (being a beginner at the time), Raura (she also plays the piano), Hinata (and probably more of them). - Yui and Moa graduated in the end od nendo (school year) 2014 (March 2015). - Both Momoko and Kano (Riho was the other "Avenger" but she's not related to SG) joined SG the following year, so they never met there. The live version is incredibly emotional and you need to watch it at some point. I suggest you to continue by the beginning: "Hello! IVY", "Yume ni Mukatte" or "Friends"... since you are already familiar with "Doki Doki Morning" (yes, it's technically a SG song). Enjoy your SG journey! (I know, it's crazy).
I'm nut much into Pop music, but I like Sakura Gakuin, and I absolutely love this song. The chorus is so beautiful and catchy, It's going to be stuck in my head for a week again after this. And even more so than with BABYMETAL, there's a positivity in their music that almost makes me cry. If we had more like this, the world would be a better place. I genuinely believe that. Most things about this have already been explained, but I'd just like to add that there's no such thing as a lead singer in Sakura Gakuin. But this was the song that was played at Su's graduation, so it does have a special connection to her.
A few people here wrote to you that Sakura Gakuin is not a real school, that it's just a school-themed idol group. But that's not quite true. The girls were taught there to dance, sing, improvise, in later years also acting, and generally how to perform in front of an audience and in front of TV cameras. So it was a school in a way. Also, in 2012, Suzuka was the student council president of Sakura Gakuin, and she was also the oldest member, so she was naturally the main singer for that reason. In the following years, she was replaced by other girls who had the most singing parts. Of course, the girls in the video were just pretending to play instruments, the recording was made by professional musicians in a studio.
Thanks for the reaction 😀🌸🦊🌸🦊🌸😀 Sakura Gakuin was a Japanese Idol group formed by the Amuse Talent Agency in 2010 to provide a training vehicle for 8 to 12 of the top young (10-15 yo) girls on their books. It was made up of singers, dancers, actors, models, etc. The aim was to enhance the skills and confidence of the girls by providing the girls with opportunities to perform in public. Sakura Gakuin was an after school/weekend training group with annual live shows around March and October plus appearances at the Idol Festival in July. The group (or just some members) also appeared on TV promotions for the group or their albums. In addition, they made song videos, skits, nendo (the school year from April 1st to March 31st of the following year) test shows, and various other miscellaneous items that were included on their annual DVDs. As Sakura Gakuin had a school theme, it followed along a real school schedule. The first nendo started with 8 official members in 2010 with Yui and Moa transferring in at the start of July for the first Tokyo IdolFes to bring the group to 10 members. Babymetal first appeared at the October Sakura Gakuin show. There was no graduation at the end of the 2010 nendo in March 2011 as none of the girls turned 15 during that period. However at the end of nendo year show, 2 more girls transferred in to make 12 members. The first graduation was at the end of the 2011 nendo in March 2012 when three of the original members that had turned 15 during the nendo year all graduated. Su graduated the following year at the end of the 2012 nendo in March 2013. Yui and Moa graduated two years later.
Yui and Moa were usually paired up, typically because they were smaller than everyone else, and they auditioned for Sakura Gakuin together -- dancing to one of Su's pre-SG songs. Babymetal existed as a "sub-unit", which in practice means they were originally a _number_ during SG shows. Remember they only had one song when they started so they'd go onstage, perform Doki Doki Morning, go get changed and come back onstage with other girls in some other formation. There is a video on YT of the SG 2010 Festival where they were live for the first time; the number immediately before Babymetal is with Mini Pati, featuring Moa in a chef's hat.
Just got home from seeing Atarashii Gakko live here in Dallas, Texas. Now im relaxing with a beer and watching Babymetal/Sakura Gakuin reaction videos. Life is good.
This is the studio version of graduation toss you really need to see the live version of this song from I think graduation toss road to graduation 2012 also something you have to remember is Babymetal and SG ran together at the same time in other words at the same time they were doing this they were doing babymetal
I think an understanding of the Japanese school system will be necessary. In Japan, the new school year begins on April 1. It is the time of year when the cherry blossoms (SAKURA) are in full bloom from graduation to the start of the school year. Japanese schools give exams at the end of every term 😁. Japanese schools offer after-school club activities such as tennis, brass band, etc., which are optional and separate from class subjects 🦊. As you can see, there is a lot going on at SAKURA GAKUIN during each of these events. You can also enjoy the videos with English subtitles 😁. If possible, it is better to follow the events in chronological order so that you can be more moved by SU's graduation ceremony 😊.
SU-METAL Graduation Speeches & Ending - Sakura Gakuin 2012 - CC Subs being you're at this part of their lives, this is a must. You just watched a piece of what I'm suggesting. It'll answer so many questions you have and tie the pieces all together as you venture into more of their history. Prepare yourself for an emotional rollercoaster, Subscribing and staying around for another roller coaster ride.
I'm not a super expert on SG like some people since I'm mostly a Babymetal fan, but I have a decent grasp of most of the SG story. Sakura Gakuin wasn't an actual school, it was an idol group managed by Amuse that was themed around school life and afterschool activities. All the girls that were members of SG went to a normal school and did SG activities around their actual schooling. SG was created to be a training program for young female performers aged ten to fifteen to hone their skills in singing, dancing, acting, presenting/hosting, modeling etc. The target audience was girls of the same age as the members of the group. The way SG worked was that girls would transfer into the group aged around 10-12, and girls that reached the age of 15 (which is the end of formal compulsory education), would "graduate" and move on to other projects. SG started in 2010 with a founding class of eight founding members including Suzuka Nakamoto, who was 12 at the time. During the first year, Yui Mizuno and Moa Kikuchi (aged 11) were the first "transfer students" to join the group. It was decided during the formation of SG that because Yui and Moa were the youngest, they would have them transfer into the group to set the idea that the lineup would a revolving roster with members phasing in and out. Each year Sakura Gakuin would release an annual album featuring the songs that SG had done during the year and to celebrate the graduation of the members that were leaving. Babymetal's first song Doki Doki Morning first released on the first Sakura Gakuin album "Sakura Gakuin Nendo: Message". "My Graduation Toss" was released in February 2013 to coincide with the graduation of Suzuka Nakamoto and Mariri Sugimoto, who were moving on from SG, and to promote SG's third album "My Generation". There was a concert held on March 31st to mark Suzuka and Mariri's graduation. If you get a chance, and you want to see a real tear jerker, you should watch the live version and the graduation speeches - th-cam.com/video/nKvjTJvE0bg/w-d-xo.html Su features so prominently in this video because it was her graduation being celebrated, and because she was always regarded as SG's best vocalist. At the time that Suzuka graduated, it was not yet clear what the future would be for Babymetal, as many feared that with Su leaving SG it would mean the end of Babymetal, which was at that time still considered to be a sub-unit of SG. However it became pretty clear quickly that Babymetal would continue as they performed a series of shows in May, and released the Megitsune single in June. Although Babymetal formally separated from SG in 2013, Moa and Yui continued in SG until they graduated in 2015, which was also the year that future Avengers Momoko Okazaki and Kano Fujihira would join SG. SG ultimately disbanded in August 2021, a decision that is widely believed to have been at least partially the result of the covid pandemic. It was a shame because the youngest members, including Metalverse's Miko Todaka and Sakia Kimura had their run in SG cut short. Since then, Amuse has created a new idol training group called "Amuse Camp".
Great reaction. You don't need me repeating everything you've been told about SG and how it all worked and I don't think I can add anything that wasn't already said.
SG wasn't a real school but an Idol group themed around school life with BABYMETAL being the "Heavy Music Club" in SG. Yui and Moa actually auditioned together for SG.
I love SG! BM had been going on for a couple years at this point, at Su’s graduation Su Moa and Yui did not know BM was going to continue, the speeches at the end, they really thought this was the last time they would ever work with Su or even the last time they’d see her, so the emotions are high, and you can tell just how much Moa really loves Su❤️
So, SG normally consists of 10-12 girls of the age from 10 to 15 years. When a girl reaches 15, she has to "graduate" and leave SG and new "transfer students" join. SG started in 2010. This clip is from 2012, that is Su's graduation year plus she was the "council president" that year. As Yui and Moa are younger, they graduated 2 years after Su. Babymetal was one of the "sub-units" in SG so it went parallel and started 2010. But even when Su graduated, Babymetal went on and on (as we all know). And YES, Moa and Yui were always paired together. SG is just awesome and will throw you even deeper into the foxhole. And no worries, we all love SG, even if we are the biggest metalheads on earth. Greets from Germany (hope I put this all together rightly haha) but The One will for sure keep you updated...
Sakura Gakuin has so many great songs. Yume ni mukatte, Verishuvi, Heart no Hoshi, FRIENDS, Ganbare!!, Hello ! IVY, Miracle Patiful Humberger, Animal Rhythm are all bangers. Plus so many more I don't know well enough yet because I discovered them only two months ago myself.
Awesome reaction, Sakura Gakuin reactions are getting rare lately, so I really enjoyed this. I absolutely love SG, even though I am a total Metalhead and SG is not metal at all. But they are great anyway. I'm going to answer all the questions you had in the Video, even though they have probably all been ansered already. - SG was not before Babymetal. Babymetal was a part of SG and was formed at about the same time. When this video was made, SG and Babymetal existed for over 2 years. - SG is not a real school, it's an idol group based on a school theme. But they learned a lot there for sure. It can definitely be seen as a training camp for young Amuse artists, but they had to go to a regular school as well. - SG had a lot of different activities, including weekly TV shows (talk shows), skits, and of course concerts. Their annual nendo tests are legenary. But music is definitely the main topic of SG. - SG had always between 8 and 12 members (12 in this music video), and they were all in this band. But there have been subgroups with less members, like Babymetal was one. - Momo was not in the Video. She joined SG the year after Yui and Moa graduated and 3 years after Su's graduation. The avenger Kano joined together with Momo and Riho was not a part of SG - Su was the main singer in this video, because she was the one who graduated this year. The song was probably made for her. But usually, all members of SG were equal. When they performed this song in later years, the girls who graduated were the lead singers. - there is also a live performance video that was taken during Su's graduation concert. Very emotional with a lot of crying. - the members playing instruments here really play instruments, but not on a professional level, and this video is definitely not based on their playing. SG usually sing and dance to a backtrack - this song is probably the "heaviest" one of SG, usually it is more J-pop. But is is great anyway, I became a huge fan. - never in a million years did I thing I would become a SG fan, but it happened anyway ;-) - Yes, Yui and Moa were really always together in SG. they joined at the same time and were the smallest and youngest when they joined. - Yes, this is Moa dressed as Jimi Hendrix. Amazing that you recognized her. I don't recognize her, even though I know it 😆 - In this year, only Su should have graduated. But Mariri decided to leave SG early, so there were 2 girls graduating. - You like it because SG plays really good music, and nobody can escape their charme ;-) - I very much hope that your SG journey starts here. My suggestions would be: Friends, Heart no Hoshi, and my favourite (the only Su solo in SG): Sakurairo no avenue
This really was Su's "My Graduation Toss" as she was the only senior graduating out of SG that year. Another girl "graduated out" early to pursue a modeling career with another agency. SG was designed to train the girls in all aspects of the entertainment industry, not just music so they could go on to successfully pursue their interests after graduation at age 15. Another graduate from the 2011 nendo (so not in this video) you might recognize is Ayaka Miyoshi of Netflix's "Alice in Borderlands" series.
This song is performed for Su's graduation. Su is also the class president of SG. After Su graduates, Moa will eventually become the new class president.
Haha, nice one. Yes, I agree, this is definitely not my typical choice of music. But, because of Babymetal, I've watched many SG videos and I am probably a "secret" SG fan at heart, lol. They are all solid performers, and I do appreciate the more rock-oriented style in the music of this song too. Most likely courtesy of the metalhead producer Kobametal, who is Babymetal's producer. SG is an idol group, not a school. It is just themed and styled around "school life". Thus, sub-units are "school clubs", e.g., "heavy music club" for Babymetal, etc. At the end of every year, they hold a "graduation concert", and release an album for the previous year. Girls that finish in-real-life compulsory education will "graduate", e.g., leave the group, and younger girls rotate in, simulating a school. Even though it is a true idol group, it can be considered a "trade school" in a way, to develop young female talent who may enter future careers in entertainment as adults (singers, actresses, radio/TV, etc.) The live version of this was amazing, and I shed a tear because it was Su's final performance in SG before her graduation, quite emotional. 🤘🦊
Momo "enrolled" into SG at the same 2015 ceremony as Moa/Yui "graduated" from it. The former had joined Amuse a year earlier. Su, of course, had "graduated" in 2013.
Those two events didn't overlap. Moa, Yui, Hana and Yunano graduated together in late March of 2015. Momoko joined Sakura Gakuin on May 6th, along with five other girls.
In 2013, Babymetal was already there for 3 years, this was the time Su quit Sakura Gakuin for being 15 years old. At the same time, Babymetal was doing live shows and completely separated from Sakura Gakuin. Yui and Moa stayed in SG for 2 more years, and in 2015, they both quit too for being 15 years old.
This song was for Su and another member's graduation (they were the oldest). This is the video, I prefer the live version where several members even cry during the performance.
"(they were the oldest)" Su was, the other girl wasn't. The member who left Sakura Gakuin at the same time as Su was Mariri Sugimoto. She was several years younger than Su, and left to pursue a modeling career. Mariri is the only Sakura Gakuin member who left the group early. If she had stayed, she would have graduated with Saki Shirai, Rinon Isono and Saki Ooga in March of 2016.
Su has stage experience before SG (u can find Su videos BEFORE SG). But Sakura Gakuin was stage school for Yui and Moa. They never perform at stage before.
From the babymetal guide I think you reacted to. Suzuka was a founding member of sakura gakuin. And key Kobayashi knew she was gonna be the front girl for Babymetal since the beginning. Maybe even before. She was always a main of SG. Moa plays guitar but at a low level..
Sakura Gakuin wasn't pre-Babymetal they ran at the same time since Babymetal was originally a sub-unit or "club" of SG. This song was from the 2012 nendo (school year in Japan) in which Su left (or graduated) from SG in early 2013 at the end of the school year. The live version is a must now that you have watched this, but I'm not gonna lie the live performance will hit you right in the feels. In this video there is only Su, Moa and Yui as this song was from 2 years before either Momo or Kano (the other SG Avenger) joined the group a month after Yui and Moa's graduation in 2015. Speaking of which, you should now listen to Heart No Hoshi by SG which is where Yui and Moa (as well as their fellow graduating classmates Hana and Yunano) take a lead singing role. It's one of the SG fan's top songs of the group and has a sort of 80s synth style.
Though being a decades long metal-head (well... not exclusively since I like a lot of music in general), I can really enjoy what they've done with Sakura Gakuin. They (Amuse Inc.), basically, created a talent forge for young girls. And so many of them are still going on as singers, actresses, show hosts, models, and so on (and one even became a fabulous nurse). It, really, is a pity this project was abandoned in 2021.
Just to add numbers to what others suggested, you really need to see the live version of this song the day of Su's graduation (2012) and for the matter, the whole graduation speeches. If you don't cry watching that, go to the doctor, you lost your heart somewhere.
Sakura Gakuin is a school themed Idol group. They use a lot of school terms and concepts in their activities. It's for girls between 6th grade primary school and 3rd grade middle school. Once they finish 3rd grade middle school, they will graduate (leave) from the group. The senior member of that nendo (school term/class of) takes the leadership role and the center. Basically, they are just a girl group. Not a real school, not a reality TV show thing. But they were run as if they were. This song was from 2012 nendo (class of 2012), where Su was the only senior member, hence she was the center of the song. Babymetal was created within Sakura Gakuin as a sub-unit, before it split off after Su graduate (leave) Sakura Gakuin. I guess next I'd suggest a song from Moa and Yui's senior year, 2014 nendo. Sakura Gakuin - "Aogeba Toutoshi" The MV. (It has some opening scene) th-cam.com/video/U3ZwgC44_YQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=up8WvXsl_QjFUgPs I'm a Babymetal fan and a NOT secret Sakura Gakuin fan. 🤣 There's nothing wrong for liking them. Anyway, enjoy!!! 🌸🌸🌸
The group that actually predated Babymetal is Karen Girls. That is Suzuka's previous group and inspired the creation of Babymetal. This is also probably 2013. The 2012 school year ends on April 1 2013 i believe. Babymetal was formed in Oct 2010. They've already had concerts outside Japan as Babymetal at this point;)
Sakura Gakuin was an idol group for young girls between the ages of 10 and 15. There are usually between 10 and 12 girls. It had its own songs and also subgroups such as (cooking club - Mini Pati , Press Club - Scoopers, and one of them was Babymetal) The girls left Sakura Gakuin when they graduated from high school. Babymetal was part of Sakura Gakuin until Su's graduation in 2012. Moa and Yui stayed until 2014. In 2015, two members joined who would become Avenges (Kanometal and MomoMetal). Mometal formed in 2017 and Kanometal in 2019. The song you just heard is the 2012 graduation song where only SuMetal would perform. That's why it's so evident in the song. Normally Sakura Gakuin gives more visibility to those who are graduating. I recommend watching the Nendo test from 2010 to 2014. It's the easiest way to remember the girls' names. Other very famous songs of theirs are Friends from 2011 and Heart No Hoshi from 2014. This song of 2010. th-cam.com/video/OzIyzEhCDGs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=0QQ0kdWQvso7FFHl
Sakura Gakuin is not pre-Babymetal. Technically, Babymetal recorded their first song while Sakura Gakuin was in pre-production. Babymetal was placed as a sub-unit of Sakura Gakuin, the Heavy Music Club, along with several other sub-units such as a baton club, a cooking club, a tennis club, and others. In the music video, Su appeared as a central focus because she was the only member of that year who was graduating. If there were other classmates graduating with her, they would have shared screen emphasis with her.
Good reaction!! i really love SG. Sakura gakuin is not at academic school but is more like idol school/idol group. The girls were taught there to sing, dance and acting. Sumetal is not the main singer in Sakura Gakuin, only in babymetal, but this song is special to her because ir her graduation.
I don’t fully understand Sakura Gakuin either, but from what I know, it was an idol group themed around basic school, when any of the girls ended third grade of secundary school they would have a graduation ceremony, Su graduated in 2012, same year this song came out, also on this year she was School Board President, so that’s why she takes the lead on this song. Within Sakura Galuin were formed many subunits themed as school clubs, such as the science or cooking clubs, Baby Metal started on 2010 as the Heavy Music group, it was supposed to end when Su graduated, but producers realized the girls were talented and decided to continue BabyMetal as an independent act. Again, I might be wrong about some things, but this can give you an idea about what was Sakura Gakuin.
I don't see any problems, this seems correct. But what is interesting, something to add: it's an idol group, which is school themed, so not a real school. BUT used by Amuse as a teaching tool to give the girls more experience in singing, acting, giving and receiving interviews, doing TV hosting, photo shoots, etc. And also maybe discovering new talents of the girls.
I hope your Sakura Gakuin journey beginning today lasts at least as long as your Babymetal journey! Sakura Gakuin is not a real school, they are just an idol group with a school theme. All the members still go to their own real school. They were formed in 2010 (2 years before this video) and Babymetal and a bunch of other subgroups were all formed around the same time. Starting in 2011, they started instituting a graduation system where the oldest members would leave the group and then new members would be transferred in. Suzuka wasn't technically the lead singer of Sakura Gakuin but she was the one with the best voice and since she was the only senior in 2012 that led to her getting a lot of solo lines that year. Regarding the instruments, none of them were actually playing them in this song. Moa as you probably know can play the guitar a little, a few members were pretty good pianists, a member from the later years was very good at the violin and Momoko was a kick-ass kazoo player. That's about as far as their instrumental talents went. If you decide to continue down the SG rabbit hole, I'd recommend Song For Smiling, it was another song from 2012, Su's senior year and it's even catchier than My Graduation Toss if you can believe that.
They have skits, songs, and school-type clips. (Like the beloved Nendo tests) A bit of this and that. ALRIGHT...... Time for some.... Mini Pati! (Another sub-group, at one point feat. Yui and Moa, later feat. Momo)
There were some great singers there but yeah Su was definitely the best. She makes it all look & sound so simple & yeah BABYMETAL were beginning to make waves at this point.
Welcome to the dark side. In the live version at Su's graduation, Moa cried the whole song, most of the girls cried a bit but Moa was bawling the whole time as she sang and danced. That is the Moa.
@@bradkornatowski3866 I'm not an emotional person, but the full Live, watching all the girls struggling throughout the performance definitely gave me the feels. And the speeches, especially Moa, Nene, and Ooga showed the love and respect they had for Suu
My suggestion is that after you have done some SG videos and feel that you somewhat know of the girls in the early years. Then you can go back to this track and listen to the live performance and the speeches right after.
Okay this is everything you need. Su's Graduation speech and ceremony and live version of this song. Make sure to bring tissue th-cam.com/video/nKvjTJvE0bg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=jUeXsyv9JfBl27OP

I’m starting to watch your video bro, but already have a doubt ❤ did you chop your whole reaction in only 15 minutes? Or are you gonna post the entire thing in more parts? Su’s graduation lasts almost 60 minutes I remember Edit: oh nvm I thought you were about to watch the entire video of Su’s graduation, it’d be cool that you watch that one, you should definitely check that out, the true true true Babymetal fans have watched it entirely, you can look for it here on TH-cam, believe me it’s really worth it to watch 😉🔥
I've mentioned this before, re: Moa at Su's graduation, this time with a link, th-cam.com/video/x51ogGvlxro/w-d-xo.html It is a fan edit but well done and with subs, essential for you non-Japanese speakers. Only a little over two min so maybe not worth a reaction video (there are longer videos of the entire graduation out there if you want.. in which case. skip this one for after, if you plan on reacting to one of those.
The one to watch isn't this one but when it's sung at Su's "graduation" - I'd STRONGLY advise it (and even the speeches after if you can get tit)............ good reaction anyway
SG expert here! 😂 Just kidding! Not a school. It's a "school themed" idol group. The "skits" are DVD extras added to the different release versions of their graduation album they released at the end of each year. They would release 3 different versions of the album: "SA" version, "KU" version, and "RA" version. Each with a different DVD extra disk added to the album. It was a marketing strategy in order to sell more CDs. To get ALL the skits, class tests, etc., one had to purchase all three CDs. They also sold a version of the CD with no DVD. A "basic" release, so in actuality it was 4 different releases of the same album. Most skits were scripted, but would allow for a fair amount of ad-libbing to show of the girls personalities and charms. Each year they had different "seniors" (graduation, duh). Su was actually the second "graduation class". Most classes had multiple seniors, except for the class of 2011-2012, which only had one senior, Suzuka Nakamoto. Which made this class special as it made it appear as if she was the lone "front woman" of the band, but in reality there really isn't a front woman, just senior members. Although the members do play instruments of various sorts, the group itself does not. (This video was acting like playing instruments). They are a singing and dancing idol group of 10 to 12 girls in the lineup each year. Once Babymetal fans started discovering SG around 2014, they developed a hardcore fanbase of their own. (I've been to 4 graduation shows myself). So hardcore, that they continued following SG even after all the Babymetal girls graduated. It's infectious. Moa and Yui auditioned for SG together, and thus joined at the same time as "transfer-ins" halfway through the 2010 class, taking the group from a 10 member group to a 12 member group. As Babymetal is the "Heavy Music club", Junbou, they were formed at the same time as SG along with other clubs, and were never really supposed to be a separate thing. Their instant popularity changed all that, and more focus was given to promote Babymetal separately from SG. The graduation live version of this song is a tear jerker. Actually the whole concert is, mainly because this is the very last live performance of the senior class. In this case, Su. Her last SG performance🥹. The class of 2013,v the year after Su, happens to be my favorite class. The music was amazing that year. Moa and Yui graduated class of 2014, two years after Su. And as Babymetal got more popular and started touring the world, Moa and Yui were doing a LOT of double duty that year. I'm fact they had to video record themselves prior to their BM tour, and used that video during the SG performances at Tokyo Idol Festival 2014. The SG girls would perform with two video screens of Moa and Yui😂. SG is infectious. It's a very deep rabbit hole. Next music suggestion: Aogeba Toutoshi and Heart No Hoshi. Two favorites during the Moa and Yui years at SG
I don't understand why everyone keeps repeating that Sakura Gakuin is not a school. It's not quite true. In Sakura Gakuin the girls were taught to dance, sing, improvise, in later years also acting, and generally how to perform in front of an audience and in front of TV cameras. So it WAS a school in a way.
@@DavidPiza Su is a graduate of Hiroshima School of Acting as are the other girls of SG graduates or members of other dance and acting schools. They audition as professionals for Amuse Talent Agency. The agency in turn evaluate them and place them in various idol groups and acting contracts. They train, just like any other dance company. Just like any other idol group. It's a continuous process throughout their career. They NEVER stop learning. It's not a school. It's rehearsal, it's training, it's choreography. This isn't Dance Moms😂. SG isn't the only "graduation" after 15 idol group out there. It's how the Japanese Idol system works.
What "Dance Moms"? Are you trying to mock me? I highly doubt that in other idol groups, the members learn acting, drawing manga, holding public classes, writing tests, etc., basically all of the things they did in Sakura Gakuin. But ok, believe what you want.
Look, I don't know where you live, but where I live, Sakura Gakuin is literally the definition of a state conservatory or art school. It's possible that some idol groups in Japan have it similar, but I don't see a reason for someone to constantly point it out to viewers in the comments under every video. You're at least the fifth person to say that here today.

I'm an old grumpy American guy with a dead heart, BUT when they performed this song for Su's graduation ceremony, I got emotional since they all got emotional too. AND their good bye speeches to Su really hit me hard! Yeah, I never expected Sakura Gakuin or BABYMETAL to do that to me!🤘🦊🤘
I'm a grupmy old eropean without soul and heart, but when I watch their graduation concerts, nobody can escape crying! Except Rinon and Marina 😆
So.. Yui and Moa
- Auditioned together
- Were always "competing" for who was the biggest
- Dynamic duo perfect to join Su on Babymetal.
🌸 🏫 / 🎓
'My Graduation Toss' was written for Sakura Gakuin by Tomoko Kawasa (Tommy february6) and Shunsaku Okuda.
They were also the main creative force behind the group The Brilliant Green.
The same pair also brought us 'Heart no Hoshi'. This is (in my opinion), the best Sakura Gakuin song of all time.
Especially if you watch the 'Rakusa Clan" version: th-cam.com/video/50hE3tt9eJE/w-d-xo.html
Of course SG has a lot of great songs written by other people.
I'm not a SG expert but here are a few answers:
- SG wasn't an actual school.
Riho had a relationship with su at ASH
@@TheHenrymontemayor They were friendly rivals.
They never pretended it was a real school.
This song was practically written for Suzuka's graduation. After that, the song was sung by Sakura Gakuin for generations.
Thanks for the reaction 😀🌸🦊🌸🦊🌸😀
Sakura Gakuin was a Japanese Idol group formed by the Amuse Talent Agency in 2010 to provide a training vehicle for 8 to 12 of the top young (10-15 yo) girls on their books.
Without a doubt, Su's live version of graduation is very exciting.

Su's appreciation surprise from SG was very heartwarming. Definitely a good one to watch. I do have a few SG songs on my playlist.
You always bring a great energy to your reactions. Very enjoyable!

Poor lil Yui at the end😢 I think it was Yui and “Saki” (not sure if that’s how you spell her name) crying together at the end

SG wasn't a real school but an Idol group themed around school life with BABYMETAL being the "Heavy Music Club" in SG. Yui and Moa actually auditioned together for SG.
You finally arrived at Sakura Gakuin👍 Someday,I would like to see the reaction of the 2nd gen mini pati video. / Miracle Patiful Humberger 💫
Nice reaction, bring more SG💕
The avenger Kano joined together with Momo and Riho was not a part of SG
- Su was the main singer in this video, because she was the one who graduated this year.
SG usually sing and dance to a backtrack
- this song is probably the "heaviest" one of SG, usually it is more J-pop. But is is great anyway, I became a huge fan.
- never in a million years did I thing I would become a SG fan, but it happened anyway ;-)
- Yes, Yui and Moa were really always together in SG. they joined at the same time and were the smallest and youngest when they joined.
- Yes, this is Moa dressed as Jimi Hendrix. Amazing that you recognized her. I don't recognize her, even though I know it 😆
- In this year, only Su should have graduated. But Mariri decided to leave SG early, so there were 2 girls graduating.
- You like it because SG plays really good music, and nobody can escape their charme ;-)
- I very much hope that your SG journey starts here. My suggestions would be: Friends, Heart no Hoshi, and my favourite (the only Su solo in SG): Sakurairo no avenue
モアは小さい時からギターを習っており一応実際に演奏できます、東の神からも直接に指導も受けた事もあります。
This really was Su's "My Graduation Toss" as she was the only senior graduating out of SG that year. Another girl "graduated out" early to pursue a modeling career with another agency.
SG was designed to train the girls in all aspects of the entertainment industry, not just music so they could go on to successfully pursue their interests after graduation at age 15.
Another graduate from the 2011 nendo (so not in this video) you might recognize is Ayaka Miyoshi of Netflix's "Alice in Borderlands" series.
We owe a lot to Sakura Gakuin, Babymetal's "garage"🌸
Even though it is a true idol group, it can be considered a "trade school" in a way, to develop young female talent who may enter future careers in entertainment as adults (singers, actresses, radio/TV, etc.)
The live version of this was amazing, and I shed a tear because it was Su's final performance in SG before her graduation, quite emotional.
The live version is really emotional! Expecially the extended one with the girls all reading a message to SU 😄
If you want to check out, there is also a good song on yui and moa graduation year called Heart no Hoshi if I'm not mistaken
Please do Sakura Gakuin's appreciation surprise party for Su!

I'm a Babymetal fan and a NOT secret Sakura Gakuin fan.
If u look closely - other girls play instrument (not Su or Yui or Moa). Su was lead vocalist because she was the best one. Thats why.
I'm crying listening to this song😂

To answer your question, there is no "frontwoman" for SG, nor a main singer. They have equal parts in nearly all their songs.
Seniors tended to get more singing parts, as well as a special graduation song each year.
Su graduated at the end of March 2013.
That was the end of the 2012 Nendo (academic year).
I love SG and would love to see you do more
You need to watch the 2013 my graduation toss live. Bring tissues
The song is My graduation toss, this is the music video, not Su's graduation video.
They have skits, songs, and school-type clips. (Like the beloved Nendo tests) A bit of this and that.
ALRIGHT...... Time for some.... Mini Pati! (Another sub-group, at one point feat. Yui and Moa, later feat. Momo)
Dazzle Vision was formed in 2003 and is listed as the "forerunners of kawaii metal". Find the song "Second" and see what you think.
Yui and Moa were more like a friends from the audition for Sakura Gukuin....
After saying Sakura Gakuin once, you are welcome to just call it SG. 😉
The girls of BM can play instruments. Look up BM performing Breaking the Law with Rob Halford (Yui and Moa on guitar). It's awesome!!
Bro this is called Simp you can't escape
10:45 Yui Angus Young!!!
In the Live, Yui held it together for the most part, but completely broke down, sobbing at the end and embracing her friend Saki Ooga.
@@GenTzu The Live video had me crying the whole time and if you add in the speeches, I am just done.
👍Very nice. 🦊 🖖❤
Man, you need to hear the same song but at Sue's graduation in 2012
You should do the nendo test and pranks you will see a diffrent side of su and one of the funniest answers ever.and yui and moa to
11:09 I know what you referring to... LOL
Wait till you watch the live version of this from Su's graduation....
Watch the live version, but have tissues on hand. 🤘🦊🤘

I’m starting to watch your video bro, but already have a doubt ❤ did you chop your whole reaction in only 15 minutes? Or are you gonna post the entire thing in more parts? Su’s graduation lasts almost 60 minutes I remember
Edit: oh nvm I thought you were about to watch the entire video of Su’s graduation, it’d be cool that you watch that one, you should definitely check that out, the true true true Babymetal fans have watched it entirely, you can look for it here on TH-cam, believe me it’s really worth it to watch 😉🔥
❤❤❤❤❤💌💌💌💌💌💋
I've mentioned this before, re: Moa at Su's graduation, this time with a link, th-cam.com/video/x51ogGvlxro/w-d-xo.html It is a fan edit but well done and with subs, essential for you non-Japanese speakers. Only a little over two min so maybe not worth a reaction video (there are longer videos of the entire graduation out there if you want.. in which case. skip this one for after, if you plan on reacting to one of those.
The one to watch isn't this one but when it's sung at Su's "graduation" - I'd STRONGLY advise it (and even the speeches after if you can get tit)............ good reaction anyway
please react to Su's graduation ceremony
@@DavidPiza everything you mentioned were just skits and performance. Not actual classes😂.
Pls react to "INZM" by Number_i (New Japanese group)🙏
This is a SUPER DOPE, UNIQUE song!
It has 44M views in 2 months!🔥
the only catchy part in this song is the hook
