I watched a few videos on 2x2 tubular and your video is the best. Your technique for rearranging the stitches without knitting makes a neater edge. IMO. Thank you for the video
For 1 x 1 ribbing, you skip reorienting the stitches. What modifications would need to be made to rows 4 & 5? Thank you! Your videos are so easy to follow. 😊

Help! I have followed the instructions meticulously ( they are wonderful) and twice I have ended up short by 1 stitch after step 3. I have looked at each stitch to see if I missed picking up the bar somewhere but have what looks like a perfect knit/purl pattern. What the heck! Anyone?

Can this cast on be used for 1x1 ribbing if you skip the row of reorienting the stitches?
Yes! You could definitely do that - make sure to modify Row 4 and 5 accordingly as well!
