This really is the best tutorial out there for a 1X1 tubular cast on! I have an MBA and let me tell you, the tubular cast-on IS HARDER THAN ANYTHING IN MY STATISTICS CLASS! LOL and that was the worst! Thank you for this fantastic tutorial :)
AMAZING - PERFECT!! Huge thumbs up for this perfect cast-on method. So much easier than trying to do Italian CO on circulars (trying to figure out whether they're straight on the cable is nearly impossible). This one is just perfect. One thing that wasn't quite clear, but I figured it out was that a final YO can be used prior to joining to make an even-number of stitches. And just to emphasize that you should crochet provisional stitches onto as big a needle as you can so you'll have no problem moving the new stitches around the circulars. I am saving this method - which is actually quite simple and easy to memorize - for all my CO in the found for 1x1 ribbing in the future. Great Vid!
Holy cow! That is one crazy cast on! I'd used it a couple of times in the past but not with the scrap yarn method, which I found so much easier. Your video is very well done and answered a number of questions I had that others did not. Thank you so much. I don't think I'd ever be able to do it without referring to your video so please never take it down! lol. I can't imagine the brain of the person who invented this!

This is MAGICAL! I had almost sworn off the Tubular Cast On after previous experiences, but I love the end result so much I gave it one more go. SO glad I came across your tutorial! This method is a game changer! Not fiddly or complicated at all. Thanks so much ❤
I tried 2 other methods for tubular cast on and this one was the best. It's a tedious process, but your method and video made it far less so. Thank you.
This is my favorite video tutorial for this cast on!! The other ones I've watched were never clear on which end to unzip it from, so the knot just confused me, but you saying to NOT pull from the KNOT end was a game changer lol. This has been my first successful tubular cast on, and I feel less nihilistic about using it in projects more.
This is by far the best demonstration on this that I have seen and actually accomplished. Other methods have brought me to tears. Thanks so much for the great video. I’ll be using this method from now on.
I watched several videos trying to figure this C.O. Method out for a project I wanted to try and yours was by far the BEST and easiest to follow. Thank you!!!
Thank you for simplifying tubular ITR CO. THIS IS THE BEST, CLEAREST, MOST CONCISE tutorial out there. My hats have just gone from homemade to gorgeous in one short afternoon. TY TY TY!!!!!!!!!!
Great video! I really like how this technique gives a more reinforced edge for those places that get extra wear and tear and it's very esthetically pleasing to the eye. The extra steps are worth it! Thank you, Cushion Of Joy!
Wow! I watched several videos on how to do the circular tubular cast on and was about to give up when I came across this video. I totally understood what you were doing, and you explained it superbly. Thank you so much for sharing this otherwise difficult technique.
Thank you!!! I had tried 4 different tutorials prior to this one... and failed so many times! The way you teach and show is amazing! I got it first time. The only bit that was confusing me was the very last yarnover stitch. I did something wrong there, but fixed it! I will be coming back to this tutorial again I am positive!!!
Great video. Im a tubular cast on novice, took me a few attempts but got there in the end. At the end of each row l found i had to watch these sections intently as thats where i was going wrong!
I've been trying all day to get this cast on and your video finally cracked it for me! Thank you! I want to knit my first raglan sweater and I wanted a pretty cast on for the neckline. ❤❤❤
Thank you for a fantastic tutorial. You're a great teacher. I have only been knitting for just over a week and I was able to follow. I have a perfect tube on only my second attempt. Thank you! XXX
This was so satisfying to watch. Yes, it is a lot of set up but that unzipping of the scrap yarn was SO satisfying. And the end result is beautiful. Love it. 😊
Thank you so much for this clear tutorial. I’m so happy with the outcome. This is the best provisional cast on tutorial I’ve seen and I’ll be using this method again and again.
You really explained this well! I recently bought a sentro and I love the tubular hats but the machine is messing up more hats then I have ever knitted by hand so I came to search how to do this in my circular needles!! I might need to replay and pause and replay but you really show this better then anyone else!! Thanks
I'm learning to knit again while I recover from a broken wrist. I am currently unable to hold the yarn in a slingshot position with my left hand, so that prohibits me from both the longtail and most tubular cast on methods. However, this I can do, as I can hold a knitting needle in my left hand and crochet stitches and knit with my right hand.. Thanks so much for sharing this technique!
Thank you ever so much. I watched a whole bunch of vids on how to do this, and yours was by far the best -- explained well, calmly and in an orderly fashion. You inspired confidence. I followed all your tips not knowing how it would end up, and my cast on is gorgeous.
So happy to have found you here on TH-cam and your website/blog.. Your a wonderful teacher, taking time to explain each step and make it easy to understand and follow.. Thank You you have a new follower and fan!!!
Beautiful results! I have tried several methods but never really liked the look - it always looked tight and angry! The large needle for the provisional cast-on was a game changer. Thanks for this video. I wish I could show you how lovely my cast-on looks!
I did it! The only mistake that I think I made is using a size larger needle to cast the stitches onto the big needle, which is my habit to combat tight cast-on edge. I should have used the needle size that i use to knit the ribbing. As a result, my the stitches in the first few rows flare a bit at the edge compared to the stitches above them.
Thank you for this outstanding video. Since using your video I have been able to create, for the first time, a beautiful tubular cast on. I am thrilled. I'd watched other videos on the topic and got okayish results for tubular cast on but was always left feeling I could do better. Today I achieved that thanks to your very clearly demonstrated and explained video. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and skills, and the time it took to make this video. I great appreciate it.
Thank you for a clear and precise way of teaching this skill. It was easy to follow and it turned out for me great the first time. I hope to become a advanced knitter so I will subscribe to your videos. Thanks!

This is the best video out there for circular tubular cast on ! thank you
Your tip to start off with a larger needle made a HUGE difference. So much neater!

I agree about the final YO, I ripped it out and started over because I thought I counted wrong twice! Then I heard her mention the final YO!!
