- The Oceans are full of small life!! We are making a self sustaining ecosystem inside of a jar in Galveston Texas on the Gulf of Mexico. Although Galveston is not a coral reef, there is SO much life in the jar.
If you are planning on making your own ecosphere, we would love to see it. You can reach out to us on Instagram @jar_planet.

That one jar had so much going on in it. Just trying to think of how vast the oceans are. The amount of life they contain is mind blowing.
the snails & worms r so freaky and pretty
so cool! I love it
Was that an isopod with horns lol
Damn ! So much life ! That's so impressive :0
Thanks for that good video !
Wow theres so many animals that i have never seen in an ecosphere
Like a nudibranch and jellyfish
Goodjob on the amazing video.
They are really fascinating to watch! Thank you for the kind comment!
there are multiple different jellyfish and or hydrozoan medusas
I know this video is pretty old - I live in NYC and am thinking of creating one of these! The Hudson River water definitely isn’t as clean looking as the water you collected here but I’ll try my best
This gives me some ideas for creating a small saltwater aquarium................
Thanks! This encourages me to make a salt-water ecosystem, too!
Cool! I’d love to see a picture when you finish. I really enjoy the marine ecospheres, lots of unique life.
great Ecosphere content
I'm impressed with your work
Amazing video men, keep up with the great work! New subscriber
Thank you so much! Lots more videos on the way.
This one is rly interesting !!!
Thanks! This ecosphere is my favorite!
Wow there so many saltwater creatures
so awesome project. I'm a nerd wanna-be. love it. wish I knew what even ONE of those things in the jar was. will be reading all comments.
Yep Tampa Bay Area gonna make one , is your system near a lighted window ? How much sun does it receive every day ? ( no water changes, no open the lid to let fresh air in ? , no feeding the critters ? Is it still flourishing ? Or did it die yet ?
dang, wasn't expecting there to be so many things in there LOL
Me either!! New things kept popping up.
love your videos!
Thank you! I enjoy making them. Lots more on the way!
Ok... If you didn't add anything to that jar... Going to the beach just added exponential multitudes of oh hell no! That was seriously crazy fascinating. I am truly interested in some identifications of all that crazy stuff as well as routine updates of the goings on.
im planning on going to the island right next to Galveston next summer (because i live pretty damn close to the gulf of mexico), i might bring a mason jar with me so i can do this too
Keep me updated if you make one there.
Will you do a second video on the Ecosphere ?
2:57 thats a jelly fish
I thought the same thing!! I haven’t seen it since that clip tho.
So many hydrozoan
So many hydrozoans
Question, is it on purpose you leave air in the container ( at the top) or is there no reason?
And now pick it up above your head and yell "I GOTTA JAR OF DIRT! AND GUESS WHAT'S INSIDE IT?" xD
i know a place where there might be marine life and i mean a lot if you hit 100k or 1 million i would suggest going to the Philippines
That would be awesome! I would love to take this all over the world.
@@jarplanet well you wont be desapointed if you go to a river you will get a lot of marine life also in the beaches plus keep up the good work man im a big fan
Thank you so much! I’ve got lots more videos on the way.
