Wow! There's really something going on in there! But all my saltwater ecospheres have unfortunately failed, I'm curious to see how this develops 😁

One thing that would help is more porous hardscape and water flow. That would mimic the motion of the ocean and help with removing toxins.

how do you mimic water flow in a closed system? like move locations for it or how?

@@josephlee1170sorry, I realised i might have been unclear. You should add a small pump or wavemaker to keep the water moving. The porous hardscape would work as a filter medium for aerobic beneficial bacteria and other useful microorganisms. When you think about the ocean, the water never stays stagnant, its always moving which allows this complex ecosystem to function. 😊

@@mateuszszuflak8771 yeah i understand but how do you add a pump to the jar when it’s a closed system? running a pump through it would defeat the purpose of a closed system lol

I think for sure you would have a better chance of things living with pump.. would still look great having a couple of crabs etc

Thanks so much for your video.. how long did everything live for? I was thinking of doing a similar thing in a small tank with air pump.. any idea if things will grow and live longer??

The biggest things mostly died within the first month, but some things llived for over a year. An air pump should be helpful 😁 thanks for watching
