Fitment of the X-Pipe was great. It comes with new bolts and you re-use the stock gaskets at the headers. On the other end you use the stock sleeves. No leaks initially and we put it back on the lift about a month later and everything is still tight. Also it didn't mess with the way the muffler tips were oriented like the Heartthrob H-Pipe kit did.
Off road x and single chamber flowmasters are super raspy. I got rid of the flowmasters and ran muffler deletes the sound was amazing but it was too loud like race car loud. I'm pretty sure my neighbors hate me just from starting my car in the morning. Just got gt500 mufflers can't wait to get them on.
Since this video I have swapped to Borla S-Types. It got very loud after the swap. So I put the stock over the axle pipes back on with the resonators and that tuned the sound up nicely.
I was originally going to go with the Borla S-Type Catback but they are $1700 CAD, I can stick with my GT500 Mufflers and just get hte X-pipe for $700, save a grand for a Boss 302 Intake. I think the GT500 Mufflers sound pretty decent, so now I'm just looking for power.
Absolutely man they are much more than decent sounding. I liked my GT500's a lot. But I found some barely used Borlas for $300 so I couldn't pass them up. All I got was the axlebacks since I had everything else. Once you get the Catted X-Pipe on you will love the sound even more.
steven rattay The Roush are very loud. But with the Cats they are one of, if not the best sounding axleback in my opinion. I planned on removing the cats from the beginning. Once I heard the GT500's I thought they were mild enough to run without the Cats and was right. If we lived in a world where the volume of the exhaust didn't matter the Roush or Borla ATAK would be installed on my car. But unfortunately, I have neighbors and I would like to remain friends with them ;)
Robert Disatell I have since installed the cat delete, shorty headers and Boss manifold. Still have the roush axel backs. When I am at idle or cruise it is rather smooth and mild. Seems like the relief in exhuast pressure reduced cruise loudness. However when on the throttle above 3k rpm, damn its loud....
I'm not real sure which one I have. I bought it from an individual and they had never installed it on the car. I can get under it and take a look the next time I and working on and I will let you know.
i have the GT500 quads and was thinkong of an offroad x. i had it with my old 11 5.0 with borla S and it was raspy above 4000rpm. hows tje offroad x with gt500's?
Sorry it took so long to answer. I think its the best setup out there. Loud when you get in it but quiet when you need it to be. Even with no Cats its pretty mild till you get in the throttle.
steven rattay Those have been gone buddy. When I got the GT500 Axlebacks I got them as a takeoff from a Shelby with just over 100 miles on it. The owner had replaced the entire exhaust so the mufflers came with the over the axle tubs that connect to the X-Pipe. On the Shelby there are no resonators in those tubes so I used the whole setup. My stock pipes still have the resonators in them and are in storage. The way it sounds now is pretty much perfect without the resonators.
Robert Disatell really? it sounds like they are still installed. that is weird. I had mine cut out and it sounds raspy. maybe the stock gt pipes are doomed to rasp

I most certainly do! Loud when I get on it and reasonably quiet when I need it to be.

Really appreciate it! I love it!
Currently have GT500 Mufflers, I think I'm going to go with a catted x-pipe next.

Sounds really nice man!
I don't know how loud the 1 chamber Flowmasters are. The GT500's are the only mufflers I've had.
Hey man really nice sound. Question though? Is the Off road x pipe loader with the gt500 mufflers or the Flowmasters One Chamber muffler?
Thanks !
nice....i have the roush axel backs with bbk x-pipe debating on the bbk cat delet pipes. Love the stance of your stang; what springs are you using?
Appreciate it! I am running the Eibach Pro Kit Springs with GT500 Track pack shocks and struts.
the roush with an o/r x are obscenely loud. most people who I know have owned the roush either put the cats back in or buy gt500 mufflers

Robert Disatell this was my feeling exactly

On your lethal x-pipe did you get the standard style or the stainless steel option? How is the quality... any rusting or issues?

Robert Disatell I went with it and I love it. like u said quiet when cruising and a beast when you're into it
Do you still have the resonators installed with this setup?
Yes, I have had the resonators removed since I installed the GT500 axlebacks.
Robert Disatell dont remove the resonators, it makes it raspy.

Did they throw a code?
They do if you don't update your tune. I called Steeda and had them update my tune before installing the X-Pipe.
SOunds awesome. What tune are you running?
Steeda 93 Street tune
