The ham radio community sells brackets that can give you a solid mounting.
I would NOT put a telescoping pole up using 3 plastic brackets.
What they sell for ham antennas comes in machined billet aluminum if you look. Many cheaper sheet metal versions are available.
If you want to eliminate the guess work trying to find a signal aiming the antenna with the trial and error method, there are handheld cellular signal detectors available. About the size of a walkie-talkie and a HUGE time saver.
It's definitely gotten pricey, but I'm so glad I'm grandfathered into Verizon's old truly unlimited plan. Last month I used 133 gigs and there ain't nothing they can do about it. Thanks for the video, I may try one of these out.

Great video! We have a bundle antenna package via MobileMustHave and bought this antenna and loved seeing how you set up/use the pole/antenna. If you don't mind us asking where were you boondocking? Looks like some of the AZ dispersed camping we have been to and love! We are enjoying living and my continued working (further) remote as we do full time in our toy hauler -- hope to see you all out on the road!

We have 25 ft airstream, went into Entertainment areas and pulled out the satellite cable and that way we could use a satellite cable to go into the Weboost and then just had to take our Weboost antenna and screw it into the satellite plug-in outside the airstream
Cool solution! We considered doing that but could never find a straight answer on whether the preinstalled cable TV coax would transmit data without any detriment to the cell signal. Have you had good results?
Wow Thks so much for the video! It was very helpful! If your boondocking would it work better if you direct wire it to the battery as opposed to and AC outlet with an inverter? Also have the weather elements effected the booster having it mounted in the pass through? Thks again!!
Yes it would be a little more efficient to wire it directly to the 12V system than to run the inverter. We run the inverter all day anyway, so it's just easier to plug it into the outlet. No negative effects to the booster in the front storage area. The temperatures in there are similar to the living area, and it's watertight.

Can you put a splitter before the inside antenna for the television or is there a way to connect a HDMI cable. Many Thanks
Not fully understanding your question. What do you hope to accomplish with the splitter?
Sorry for all the questions. I mostly watch TH-cam on my AppleTV so I’ve been saving my questions/comments for when I’m on my phone. Im curious how much video conferencing you have to do for your work and how you use so little data. I recently looked at how much data I use at home through Xfinity and it ranges from 350 to 700gb a month. Yikes! I’m not sure if that’s because I’m on zoom calls all day or because I watch way too many TH-cam videos of airstreams. I would anticipate being more careful with data while on the road but I’d still need to work and at the very least watch This Wylde Life!
Good question! Data use varies significantly depending on needs. We don't typically have more than a few hours of video conferencing each week. When we do, we generally just head to a café or a private room at the local library because it's nice to get out anyway. Fortunately, cellular data has gotten pretty affordable. On our Verizon mobile hotspot, it's about $1/GB each month. If you're not paying for home internet and utilities, that cost is pretty easy to justify.
Using the data saver option on Hulu, Netflix, TH-cam, etc. does help stretch our data. There's a huge difference in data use between 720p, 1080p, and 4k. Zoom also has a data saver-option (it's HD by default). Hopefully with strategies like these you can keep watching our videos 😆

And I saw that Verizon came out with some new data options that look pretty affordable. I suppose I could live with 720p video quality but I’m switching it to 4K when Cameron takes his shirt off! 😂😂😂

Hi there! Hoping you might be able to help with my Weboost? It works great but as you know, you can't go more than a few feet from the interior antenna or it will stop working. We use our Weboost mainly at our cabin. Do you know if it is possible to set up either a router or a repeater type system with the Weboost in order to get more distance from the interior antenna? Thank much for any info you can share. Rich W.
I wish I could answer that for you. Unfortunately we don't have any experience with a repeater. However, the folks at WeBoost are very helpful. If there's a solution, I'm sure they can help you find it! Best of luck!
Like you I purchased a small home cell booster system (looked at the Weboost but bought a Hiboost system for much less - basically the same system). I purchased the Weboost telescoping pole and have been thinking about the best place to install it. I heard your comment regarding the mounts that come with the pole - not ideal for an Airstream (I have a 2016 Classic). Like you I have thought about a ground platform (I am currently using 1/2 inch pressure treated plywood as a base with the pole mount screwed into the plywood with removable carriage bolts and wing nuts) and placing it under the jack (below the blocks I use to raise the front end of the Airstream to level it). Have you tried this yet? Do you need a second contact point given that the jack is short? Appreciate your input.
We found a flag pole base under the tongue jack works very well. We've had ours up in gusty winds and it felt totally secure. This is the one that we bought amzn.to/3gakNzc It's currently unavailable, but there are similar options on Amazon. Just make sure to match the base to the diameter of your pole.
Have you guys had a lot of troubleshooting issues with red solid lights from the interior and outdoor antenna conflicting?
We usually get some red or yellow lights when we first connect the booster to power. It always cancels out the signal conflicts though, and we end up with all green lights.
Hi... Does your AS have an external satellite coax port? If so, why did you use the flat cable via the storage cabinet vs. the built in satellite connection? Also, how did the flagpole mount work for you? I have the same hesitation given the curvature of the Airstream. Thanks...
We didn't use the coax port to ensure that we used a cable that was suited for maximum data transfer speed. Based on our research, it sounded like the existing cable wouldn't be well suited. In addition, we would have had to re-route the existing cable and disable the cable TV hookup.
The flagpole mount is excellent. We've had it up in 30 mph gusts with no issues. Much more confidence-inspiring than the adhesive mount. Here's the link (also in the description) amzn.to/2RDgaUQ

Hi, Rich. This pole came with the RV65 kit we ordered from WeBoost. I believe you can order the pole alone on their website. If not, there are some telescoping flag poles on Amazon that look pretty similar.

@@sierranevada3789 The Drive Reach is typically installed fixed to the roof of an RV or vehicle. There's no repeat setup required, though it's not quite as powerful as the RV65.

I'll be using my weBoost on my travel trailer but also at our family cabin and when I am just camping....so the poll system should work for all three of these. I'm bummed about the weBoost system I bought, thinking it was the latest and greatest they have. If I may ask, what makes the RV65 better than the Drive Reach RV (470354). @@sierranevada3789 the RV65 isn't necessarily the better product, it just depends on your needs. The RV65 antenna is directional, meaning it has to be pointed towards the strongest signal. This can take some trial and error during setup, but can ultimately result in a stronger signal. The Reach uses an omnidirectional antenna, meaning it pulls signals from all directions all the time, which makes setup easier but typically doesn't provide the strongest possible signal.
Both the RV65 and the Reach rely on several components beyond the outdoor antenna. As shown in the video, there is the booster itself, which requires a power supply, and the indoor antenna which must be connected to the booster. Most people are leaving these components in place, rather than moving them from one application to another.

Hello! How did you run the wire under the fridge an closet? Is there a trick to get it under those things?
There is clear space below everything on that side of the camper. Airstream runs a lot of wiring and plumbing down there.
Under the bench seating, there are dividers that run from the floor to the underside of the bench to create storage. We did have to drill a small hole or two through those.
Thank you! Is there a trick you recommend for actually pulling the wire through the space? Since it is kind of tight, I am not sure how to pull it all the way through.
@@danwitt867 working our way from the back of the trailer to the front, we were able to just reach through the access panels until we got to the shower area. At that point, it's helpful to run a wire pull first, then pull the cable through. Here's the link to the one we used amzn.to/3DjTY4n

Awesome-thank you! The answer to your question is yes... but sometimes no. The outside antenna picks up all cell signals, and all of those signals are boosted through the indoor antenna. Those inside signals can then be received by devices from different providers. However, the RV65 uses a directional outside antenna, and the optimal orientation to pick up a Verizon signal might not be the same as for an AT&T signal. Does that make sense?

The inside antenna has a limited range.
Correct. The signal is strongest within 15 feet of the antenna. Going outside of the trailer also significantly reduces the signal strength.

Ok this seems very controversial to me with how this is stated and it’s something I think people go around in circles with, that you actually need an existing signal because that’s what these remote boosters do is they can reach the cell phone tower creating a signal. So maybe the signal is not showing up or usually doesn’t read out in the remote area your in but it’s shadow of a signal, the potential of that signal to exist is still there and then the booster is supposed to be powerful enough to reach the nearest tower! So it’s easy to get that all confused. That IS how they are supposed to work unless I am getting it wrong but I don’t believe I am.
Our experience has shown that the booster is really only effective if there is a weak signal registering on the phone. We have not successfully obtained a usable signal with the booster if our phones say "no signal." WeBoost support has told us that this is expected operation.
