That’s a serious piece of kit! I loved the instructions that say that the antenna is for “stationary use only” 😆😆 I will be checking out the filter website for my videos - thanks 👍🏻
I find what ever floats anyone's boat & AirStreams many decades ago were ok & not over the top what they charge for them today. The people who built them decades ago were real craftsmen & they were built to last. It's all personal choice today. I restored a 1950's RV. Took me 6 months & was a real enjoyment. I enjoyed it for 2 years in the 1980's. Named it SeaFire. My profession moved me in assignments 1,200 mile & kept it until I met a Lady who had a Daughter & their Rent was going up. I have never accepted to have to Rent where ever I have lived. Like throwing Money out a Window🪟💵💵💵💵. My location was not the best location to maintain the RV Trailer parked & was not having the quality time to enjoy as I once did. I told her I would sell it to her for what I had spent on restoring the RV Trailer that was $1,800 dollars💵. The RV Trailer was worth much more but have never been into being Greedy. She said that would be a huge Blessing🙏that she had in her savings $1,800 dollars💵. Her Uncle had passed & he left her land on a Lake with Power from the Grid on it & there was a Well💧& Septic💩on the land. He use to have a Small Trailer he would take in the Summers to enjoy Fishing🐟, I said that would be great & I would drive the RV to her Land. It was Positive Karma happening. It was Summer & was a perfect time to park SeaFire & become a permanent Home. Some months went by to see how she was doing & her daughter. They had a friend who built them a Enclosed Porch with great Tin Roof & Windows on a great Concret Block foundation connecting to the RV Trailer. It was another Room to their life. She had made drapes & had the furniture to make it really nice. They were hooked up to the Power⚡Grid🔌. SeaFire had 2 L.P. 20 Gallon Tanks that came with the Sale & full. The Stove & Oven were in Mint Condition. The Local Gas⛽Station sold L.P. Gas Tanks so when they went down to put Gasoline in her Car, she said she took both L.P. Gas Tanks to Exchange for 2 more. There was a local Grocery🛒Store just down from the Gas⛽Station. The Lady's daughter only had less than 1/2 mile to the Bus🚌Stop to go & come home from School🏤. I had my 2 years of enjoyment & a good SwayBar on my 98 Olds 455 Motor & did great. I would never want to pull a RV Trailer today. The next adventure I have wanted to do for several years is get a Gaoline never Diesel, Box Truck🚚. Over the many years I have always told others, to get what they feel a Calling to Travel & Live in. The NoMad Life is a Calling in life to have. What ever anyone's Cercumstances are in Life. You meet amazing & wonderful people, as the comradery is there. Thank You'al for the great Info on the Cell Booster. I have been reading & studying them for the past few years. It will be a given in my life. always, Tommy🤠
I'm taking a LONG look at the Destination RV booster for our 28' Flying Cloud before a trip west next winter. We have an external satellite coax input connection I plan to (hopefully) use instead of fishing as you did. Couple of questions... How did you secure the telescoping pole to the front of your AS and where did you get that front mount bike rack over the propane tanks? Thanks...
Loving your videos. I would love to see a video about how you guys keep things secure. Like the gear in your truck or when you park the Airatream and leave it. Even just boondocking itself and feeling safe. Just an idea🙂 Thanks for the inspiration!!
🤔hmmm.. great idea, there are some things we could improve on as our truck has a soft top cover. But we use a GPS tracker on our Airstream amzn.to/3tOr72V . We also have this security camera that we use from time to time.. amzn.to/3w1Ja7o
Thanks for the very helpful video! If I'm understanding correctly, the weboost amplifies the cell signal inside your camper. I imagine that you're then using some sort of router or hotspot device to turn the amplified cell signal into a wifi signal for use with your computer (videos, email, web surfing. etc.). Would you mind sharing what device(s) you use/recommend for that purpose? Thanks!
Thank you for the test and information! I just purchased this product a week ago and makes me feel better as i had a difficult time getting the booster to be off red to green. I did get it to work at times and when it did, worked fairly well with minimal signal. Think i need to work with and will hopefully work out well overall.
It can be a life saver.. but we've also had times when there is zero signal and even this booster won't help. Sometimes you really need to fine tune where your antenna is pointing.
Thanks for the video! I’m trying to run the wires to install an inverter but couldn’t remove the metal cover between the kitchen and the bed. The cover has about 1-2 inches under the cabinets. Do you mind to share how you removed it? Just by removing the two screws and pulling it hard? Thank you!
I can't figure out how to describe it differently but the way you said it is correct. I think there are 2 screws on that cover, you remove them and just wiggle the cover open. I think it might slide left or right a little to get it out.
I will plan to work full time 9-5 with significant video Zoom calls everyday so would you recommend the we-boost, mifi, cell all through Verizon. During the week I need to be near service and on the weekends I can boon-dock with limited service.
The WeBoost offers the best option for boosting cell signal. My only concern with your plan is you might run out of data on your cell plans if you're zooming all day. There are some other data provider options I'll see if i can find any links.
Great review. That antenna does NOT look omnidirectional. It looks directional, meaning you have to point it at the local tower for the strongest signal. So use your phone again to measure signal strength and slowly rotate antenna until you get the strongest signal.
@@Roamaroo I will be soon as I have an RV on order. Right now doing research. I noted shape and type of antenna it was. I don’t think you mentioned it or taking the time to aim it towards a tower. I’ll have to watch again. Thanks for taking the time to review it for us and share your experience.
WiFi and Radio engineer here. I noticed a couple of things (please do not take offense, as I know I am just being pedantic) 1. You live in a stainless steel can, radio waves hates stainless steel. (Imagine trying to make a call from inside a giant stock pot, it would be hard). You would get better reception with your phone, or hotspot outside of the trailer. Just one of the problems with airstream trailers in general. 2. That device is NOT ever a router (router means a connects between two IP subnets, this has nothing to do with IP, just pure radio) its a repeater, or more appropriately, a repeater/booster. (See, I told you I was pedantic, I am so sorry) 3. Your videos are great, ignore my BS above.
@@jareddietz9214 yes! But if you want cell service outside the airstream the repeater must be outside as well. So you have to move it when you move from inside to outside.
Hi there! Hoping you might be able to help with my Weboost? It works great but as you know, you can't go more than a few feet from the interior antenna or it will stop working. We use our Weboost mainly at our cabin. Do you know if it is possible to set up either a router or a repeater type system with the Weboost in order to get more distance from the interior antenna? Thank much for any info you can share. Rich W.

I used these two items.. amzn.to/3cfdpmQ & amzn.to/3O7C0Hg for the bikes. I just secured the antenna using bungee cords and packed it away for travel.

That airstream looks like a faraday cage to me, no wonder cell signal is weak in there.

We struggle with this constantly too! Haven't found a great solution yet for our Backpacking adventures😔
Right! Getting good internet is ALWAYS a problem..
Looking forward to seeing Starlink testing
Thanks for the review. Which cell tower app do you prefer?
we never found one that was that great. I normally just went on "Fast.com" To check upload and download speeds. 😀

How many segments to the 25 ft pole?
let me check...
5 sections
I doesn't work in new Hampshire :(
The entire state?!

Sorry, I don’t know. That sounds like a question for tech support. 😀👍
Come on Elon and starlink for R9 and boats
I know, right! 😀 I would love to have starlink as an option.
