      Thanks for the comment, I'm glad to say we don't change many now, it's always fun trying to work out the meaning of life in a lay-by (I don't miss doing DAF aid 😂)

      That's good to know and a brilliant attitude to have buddy, sharing is caring 😂 one of the reasons I started this channel was to for people try and level up on their own skills and be more confident doing diagnostics.
      I've done a little with JALTEST on the HALDEX side but would really like to get more in-depth with it all.

    Just had a euro 6 daf.
    Once warmed up dash went nuts think it used all its lights.
    But truck still ran after checking the usual suspects I remembered this video. Let it all cool down watching live data and using heat gun bam went nuts.

      Well, whatever you do, make sure the ecu comes back to you as I can bet you a NEW ECU they will fix it and sell it on otherwise!
      you want the customer parameters and injector codes too from the old ecu before fitting the new one 😉.

      @TRUCK TECH UK gonna be an expensive exercise. Old ecu had no comms so can't get old files out.... need to get daf aid out to it.
      But believe they sending it back anyway.

      @spockil your be good for injector codes if you use davie 4 as it will be able to recover them, and if you don't have complicated customer pto parameters, you should be okay without the old ecu.

    The breather valve on the ECU causes problems because all kinds of dust get into the ECU and affect the print diagram. I my case ; I rode a lot of zinc minerals during that time and the dust was corrosive. My engine suddenly stalled going downhill and even after resetting it wouldn't start again. I had to be towed to a workshop in Sutton. After installing a new ECU everything was back to normal

    I remember when this was not a known issue ,,i was sent out on a roadtest let say that was fun as it cut out on the motorway ,about 3 hour later it started and cut out after about 15 mins ..Luckily i have 2 brand new ecus in my toolbox so a lad brought one down ,programmed it ,i then did an very very very long road test with no issues ,then we would get the odd one failing till it turned in to an avalanche ..But like everything the first one is the longest to suss as it was not a known issue at the time...Though it is mounted on the "cold side " of the engine it isn't getting cooled in my opinion and it is too close to the engine ..but that is only my opinion...im amazed you got a new one the following day ,they where like rocking horse shit at one stage

      I believe as long as you supply the log file when you escalate the case through support center they will send it next day as I think they hold some back. This was mx-13 also, I think the majority of ECU failures are mx-11.
      But you be pretty annoyed as a opperator if you had a a truck break down and the technician decided the symptoms were the same as a ECU failure, bangs a £1000 pounds worth of ECU on and it breaks down again with a wiring fault. I just hope technicians don't guess every time as it was such a common fault

      @@TRUCKTECHUK Ah you probably have a stores that are helpful and not a hindrance ..I honestly couldn't say if our failures have been mainly 11 or 13 ....Our last one was a its and we had it couried up from another dealer ...Fitted programmed etc ,then when finished the boss from where ever decided it wasnt the ecu and wanted the old one on..i did explain that he had bought the new one as it was programmed he authorised it via its and we will fit it plus labour ,no surcharge and when he breaks down he has recovery to pay for and he will be at the bottom of a very long Q ...it didn't even make it out the workshop lol...

    Great video very helpful, wonder it you can help i have an lf 55 2005which looses its throttle response after having pulled up to a stop very intermittently about ever 150 miles after about an hour it works fine again,its been to Daf lots of times, the only codes are steering hard ware soft ware probem, immobiliser not communicating with engine, noting in the engine ecu or brake ecu. Its had new throttle pedal iv checked the wiring and buttons in the steering wheel, had the vic tested and the engine ecu, I still suspect the engine ecu, I did wonder if the brake switch was sticking but thought it would pull up a plausibility fault and it won't play up while I'm looking at live data, any help would be a great help.

      Hey thanks for the comment I believe it's to do with communication with the diagnostic software as your are writing new files to the ECU hence the loss of DIP and the headlights coming on

    Hi mate . Just need to ask for your help . 2016 Daf 510 . Egr valve showing a mechanical fault . Jaltest not great on dafs . Do egr valves give much issues ?

      Hey buddy thanks for the comment. I don't see alot of faults mechanically with EGR valves...I'd have a video on one if I did 😂🙈.
      BUT if the link arm isn't bent and it moves through its full range of motion smoothly, your going to need to either swap it out to see if the fault clears or cough up the 2 grand for a new one unfortunately.

    What year did the ecu's stop faulting ie.. from what year is it safe to buy a daf?

      It's never safe to buy a DAF lol. They did improve the design and if it's had a new ECU recently it will be the improved design. Daf now suggests changing the ECU rubbers every 3 years to prevent them from going hard and increasing vibration.
      I'd be looking for a DAF built at the end of 2022 NOT NGD BUT before the camshaft issues of 2018-2019 on mx-13

      @@TRUCKTECHUK We experience similar problems with ECUs of Scania DC09 and DC13 industrial engines. But at Scania they mount the ECU to the engine block without rubber vibration dampers! Thank you always for your educational content video!

    I watched your video and I know these ECMs are hard to get inside. You seem to have a great chemical to release the glue they used. Can you let me know what to use and how you did it.

      This repair was carried out by a 3rd party but toluene, acetone & benzene can be used as a solvent. These solvents must also be used under a high temperature condition while working on the joint in order to separate the cases.
      If you look at ECU separation on TH-cam you will see the process of other ECU remanufactures sperating the housings

      ok I understand your doubts, I have already sent them 15 of these DAF E6 ecu and they all worked well without problems, and the unlocking service is fast, I send the control unit on Monday and on Wednesday it comes back unlocked. now these DAFs all have the same ecu, only the software changes, now I keep one of these unlocked ecu at home and when one of these blocked DAF E6s arrives I go to a DAF service friend of mine and put the ecu on the truck and have it programmed by their DAF tester, and when the truck engine is started I can read and write with FGTechnology and do the tuning. then I send the control unit removed from the truck to FGTechnology to be unlocked and ready for the next truck.

    Hi got all them faults on mine and pci making a noise but won't start took the pci off and sent away for repair but they said they was unable to communicate with the pci and said not to put back on any way of getting in to communicate with it

      Hi thanks for the comment. Yes the glue needs heating up while you use special ecu tools to separate the casing. You also need to clamp it to a workbench to keep the plugs in place while separating it. It's a very involved job.

    i was showed some emulator for DAF Adblue system. it is simulate the SCR-DPF system. CAN-Bus emulator for daf.
    but this problems is different than for Adblue system problems. i think DAF truck is very problems SCR-DPF problmems and this problems.

      I too have seen they can unlock the ECU now but I dont want to have to send the ECU to them.

      @Heinrichklaus-f4q I don't think many of my customers would want a 2nd hand ECU. I think they want the 12-month warranty from DAF on the parts.
      If only there was a way to unlock it without opening it up.
      What was the cost of the fgtechnology tuning tool?

      @@TRUCKTECHUK at the moment there is no other way to do these DAF E6 ecu and I believe that for a long time you will have to send the ecu to FGtechnology Galletto. I work with DIM SPORT, MAGIC, ALIEN, AUTOTUNER, VF2 etc etc and all of these tell me that they are working on the blocked DAF E6 but nothing arrives to do these ecu. I bought FGtechnology (cost €3600) to do the blocked DAF E6 and using it I found it to be a very valid tool to do a bit of everything. now it is the first tool that we use in the company to do the work on the control units and I am evaluating buying a second FGtechnology Galletto tool to go and do the work around our customers.

    On the euro 5 engines I usually would take a 7/8 wrench and just lightly tap the cone shaped part on the ecu , when the engine shuts off after a tap 99% of the time the ecu is the issue

      I can't say I've ever had a euro 5 engine ECU fail on me yet but then the amount of euro 5 vehicles I work on might be 1 a month possibly
