      @@SamVBikes you're welcome but it's down to your good work and presentation. I don't want to spend much on a tracker as I always lock my bike in a secure garage and I'm riding it when it isn't locked away. When I leave my bike it's usually always in sight too so it's rarely unattended these days.

      I'm the same, mines always in a locked garage with a whacking great chain around the wheel at home but have the joy of parking in London for work so can never trust locks and chains too much! unfortunately!

      @@SamVBikes you're right not to, it must be a constant concern having to park in the capital. I used to sometimes use the bike commuting into Birmingham but I had the luxury of licking my bike behind steel shutters in an unused loading bay. At home the easiest way into my garage is through the roof as I have decent locks on the front door and a solid steel box section frame at the back.

    • @SamVBikes
      @SamVBikes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It definitely is! Especially when there are D-locks remains in the underground car park! Haha nice! I'm tempted with the guardsman defence bar thing that a few of the bigger youtube boys have got their hands on, but it's £600+ so maybe when I get a fancier bike!

    One thing I would do to get around the fact that the key fob isn't waterproof (I believe the updated one is) is to put the fob on your house key and keep that in your pocket and that solves that problem.
    The other thing to consider is being kicked off the bike at say a set of traffic lights.
    If this were to happen and the key fob is on your bike with your ignition key, the tracker wont be armed and you can say goodbye to your pride and joy! This maybe similar to keeping a spare ignition key hidden on the bike just in case you lose it down a drain.
    This will invalidate any insurance claim in the future.

    • @SamVBikes

      Agreed Marc! I have since upgraded to the new MM7 tracker (vid more recently on my channel and another one testing it on the way in the next few weeks).

    Very nice. I purchased their Monimoto 7. Since my bike has keyless ignition I just keep both the fob and tracker fob in my pocket. I decided to use lithium AA's in the unit to save having to change the batteries as often.

    • @SamVBikes

    mate, whats the distance max u can get out of your bike with this device? mean when u parking. as it has sim is limited, right?

    • @SamVBikes
      @SamVBikes  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It activates when the key is outside of 10ft radius I think but it's a sim card like you have in a mobile phone, so I'd say it should work anywhere in the country.. possibly even anywhere in Europe. I've had my alarm go off while I've been in Cornwall and my bike was near London

  • @emilsoberbro36
    @emilsoberbro36 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I though that the difference between mm5 and mm6 is that mm6 because its 3g can give you better location if gps is not in range.. that is why I am thinking about 33g mm6... what do you think?

    • @SamVBikes
      @SamVBikes  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I dont think it's 3G, but it does have the network which is apparently much better in Europe. There's not a huge amount of difference in price so worth going for the mm6!

    • @SamVBikes
      @SamVBikes  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah as soon as its out of range of the key it will. And if your bike gets stolen with the key fob you can remote trigger the alarm to track it. There's a new version of this now too

    • @SamVBikes
      @SamVBikes  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nothing new that I can get any good info on. Sounds like the GSM network is being shut down which obviously isnt Monimoto's fault but I'd assume its not financially viable for them to pay out for replacements for customers from a few years back. The MM7 is still going to support the full features with the calling included so you can still get one. Its the older devices which aren't on 4G network which are affected. Thanks! Appreciate the kind words

      The whole idea of the Monimoto 7 is about the sunset of the other networks. Monimoto 7 main needed network is LTE-M

    Question.
    Do you know how it works if, for example, I am on vacation and my dad wants to take the bike out but doesn't have the fob?
    Is there an option for silencing the push notifications because it's a trusted rider? Or should I just leave the fob with him then?

    • @SamVBikes
      @SamVBikes  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Leaving the fob with him would be the easiest option. When the alarm goes off, you can silence it for a time period, but there's not an option to turn it off in advance that I know of. So when I take my bike in for a service, I wait for the alarm to go off, then just silence it for 8 hours

    I keep my device under the seat of one of my ATVs. The problem I have is that when I transport them in my enclosed trailer and I start driving the alarm goes off. Is there something I should be doing differently because the fob is with me on my car key ring.
    I don’t want the alarm to go off in those instances

    • @SamVBikes
      @SamVBikes  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is there a way you could have the key on a carabiner clip or similar so when you're transporting them, the key goes on the ATV. It's distance based so the other option is to increase the distance on the key range in the app. That might bring it in range for it to see it while travelling

    • @-Quisp-
      @-Quisp- 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I guess I figured that the distance from the fob when I’m driving to the ATV on my trailer is less than 20 feet and therefore the device would recognize that I’m close enough, and not go off. What is the maximum distance between the two before the alarm is activated?

    • @SamVBikes
      @SamVBikes  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@-Quisp- It may be something to do with the surrounding metal of the car/trailer that's disrupting the signal. I believe as standard it arms outside of 10ft. If you go into 'Key Fobs' when you're connected to your device on your phone, it has a Max/Min distance if you keep your keys close to the garage etc. No distance stated, but might be worth a shot

    • @-Quisp-
      @-Quisp- 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes possibly. I guess the best solution is to take your advice and simply keep the fob inside the trailer during transport. Thank you so much for your help

    The perfect tool if you don't have theft insurance.

    • @SamVBikes
      @SamVBikes  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure where youre based, but in the UK, If you're bike gets stolen, and you claim on the insurance, you have to pay the excess agreed in the policy, pay a recovery fee if they find it, pay a much higher premium next time around for having claimed which continues for 5 years and have a long gap in having a bike while you wait for a replacement, and lose a huge amount of value as they will only pay out current (low) estimated market value. If I can get my bike back without having to even tell my insurance, I'll do that every day of the week
