Adding the skin modifier makes the branches way too thick and scaling moves the entire mesh instead of scaling just the thickness

struggling at 1:05, extruding a single vertices doesnt give me the same options moving foward. Is there a step missing?
have you tried Ctrl+Shift+B in single vertice?
@@VINDIZ_ I started over and it worked, yea! It didnt automatically bevel into a shape tho, only a square...I had to do a custom bevel and then mess with the shape value in order for it to look like the video... weird but got it lol
is there any way to avoid overlaping particles?
