good question
I have 3 methods that I do often.
1. Ctrl + Z
2. You can use Select similar (shift+G), but sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
3. There is one more method which is to set the vertex group first.

For select
you can try to select one face you want and press Shift+G it will give you the option to choose, test one by one maybe start from Face

step 1 select all faces by pressing A
step 2 Inset face by pressing I and moving the mouse to scale faces
step 3 Scale all faces into the center by median point mode
step 4 Add Extrude agian by Alt+E and change pivot mode to the individual origins
