This song was specifically written for the Daydream era of her voice. It's so interesting because certain songs are just so exemplary of certain era's of her voice to the point to where if she performed this 2 years earlier or 2 years later, it would sound totally different. That's what I love about Mariah Carey. She's constantly changing and evolving.

I like MC miles and miles better than Celine. But I'm pretty sure Celine could try, her delicate vocals at the start of 'Taking Chances' showed she could do light vocals. I don't buy Celine's stuff, and am a huge Mariah fan, I just don't understand all this pointless comparison making... They are both giants of music.

Mariah in her prime even has trouble sustaining simple A4 belts (mariah sustains them for 2-3 seconds which is very little) while celine sustain 10-15 second A4 belt. Mariah belt up to G5, celine can almost belt up to 6th octave.

It's called "recent vocals"... If you would sing the song you just recorded this year or last year, the quality of your voice would just sound pretty much the same... Ofcourse It wont sound the same if you recorded it like 25years ago but you sing it on the present day.
