It was beautiful to hear how intertwined the love for your father is with the Powder House and and the Rally. Those memories are worth more than any amount of money. We have those same memories at the Ironman GNCC every year as a family.
We made Rally 74. My MC national Presidents meeting (NPM) was held in Fargo which was timed to head southwest to Rapid City. RAINED every day. I was leading a group of us to Devil Towers in overcast conditions, as I looked down our route I saw a wall of water - pulled to side of road, got rain gear on before first drop hit us. It was my first Sturgis. 2021 our NPM is scheduled for Rapid City. The Chip has invited us on Thursday night, can't wait to enjoy seeing & feeling the energy of that location. We Toured Deadwood, paned for gold, saw 4 dead white men in rock, Indian chief in rock and loved every minute of the experience. Yes we road from Central VA to Fargo and Sturgis. Our last day the sun finally peaked out as we explored the Bad Lands and headed back to VA. 2 up with ole lady, she was a trooper - if memory serves 14 States in 14 days. I stumbled onto ur blog and have enjoyed your stories and I'm taking notes for our 2021 journey. I doubt we will ever bump into one another, but I'd like to buy you a beer 🍺. We do breakfasts at the veterans club every morning for $10. Side hack also has a breakfast smorg. If you go to a restaurant for breakfast it's gonna cost you $20. Usually lunch at a street vendor. The blue belle lodge in Custer state park is a really good place to eat.

If you don't mind the extra cooking time and the extra stuff to pack. You could braise some steaks then coat them in your favourite fat/oil and grill a nice sear on them. Once you're done with the braising liquid, you could add some corn starch and turn it into a gravy. Yeap am planning on going but have to wait till it gets closer don’t wanna waste a trip. I’m from Missouri to just the other side lol love the Lou tho keep up the videos like to watch them
I actually haven't done Daytona. Daytona's riding kid of sucks, so you're just going to bars and vendors. That's fine of course and a lot of fun, but I prefer Sturgis because you have all of it. Some of the best riding in the country, concerts, campground parties, etc.
Two outstanding and cheep places to eat in Piedmont area; top one is the American Legion the other is the Slash "J" bar just down the frontage road. Take exit 46 BE SURE TO STOP AT the stop sign. Don't roll through it. Cops watch it well. Don't speed down frontage road or cop will get you. Now head back towards Sturgis on frontage road and about a quarter mile you'll pass the Legion and Slash "J". You won't be disappointed at either place. Remember the Legion is all voluntary and older folks. Give them a break if something happens. They usually will fix whatever it is. You'll also pass a casino and there is a post office right their too if you need to send stuff out. Oh forgot if you want a great experience steak house after stopping exit 46 go up over the highway and on the left is a delicious steak house. A lot of rides go from their. Half to 3/4 mile down Elk Creek Road past the steak house is the camp ground i told you about in last video. Thanks for the input. Also when you get out there next year give me a shout. I will give you a heads up when and where to get cheep/free beer, food, gas etc... I'm the cheap person. I've done the rally for $400 but I stayed at a buddies house that year. To bad he moved!
Another place in Hill City before jumping the train right across the street is a place thats great i think its Roses. Not sure on the name. Ruby's might be the name. I forgot!
How’s it work for concealed firearms being brought in? It says no firearms allowed but I don’t imagine legal ccw holders are just leaving their firearms at home
I don't carry at Sturgis. Only place where I don't... or do I... It really is don't ask don't tell, but those nights where you think you're gonna go hard its better to not also be carrying. You meet the wrong dude in blue at the wrong time... You know how it goes.

If camping, how do you keep belongings secure from theft?
Not mush to worry about. Things are rarely taken. Otherewise I say dont leave anything out in view.
Planning my 1st trip to sturgis this year. It’s been on my bucket list for years. Stopped riding years ago when we started having kids, but I’m back in the saddle and got 8 months to get everything together I need to make the trip AND prep try bike. 2005 Electra glide classic. I’m starting to document the trip on my youtube channel! Check it out! 🍻🍻🍻
Basement Bar, Beers, Beards, and BS awesome! Good luck, and I’m gonna check your channel out!
@@ProfessionalMonkey cheers! thanks again!

Right on. A day for brilliant minds to be hatched!
My birthday is the August 11th and anniversary is the 14th.
That's an expensive month!
True. But it’s in Sturgis. That’s makes it great
Being in florida do u go to Daytona?? Did a video on it help a brother out lol
mickey corum ha! I actually haven’t. I was going to this year but... you know... the rona. I was planning to stay at Cackleberry. I hope to go this year and I’ll do a video.
Yeap am planning on going but have to wait till it gets closer don’t wanna waste a trip. I’m from Missouri to just the other side lol love the Lou tho keep up the videos like to watch them
mickey corum I plan to for sanity’s sake.
how do you compare Sturgis from Daytona or Florida Rallies?ty
I actually haven't done Daytona. Daytona's riding kid of sucks, so you're just going to bars and vendors. That's fine of course and a lot of fun, but I prefer Sturgis because you have all of it. Some of the best riding in the country, concerts, campground parties, etc.
@@ProfessionalMonkey good answer! Only my opinion.
Where are you from in Missouri? 80's kid here myself from Swampeast MO.
I was born in Saint Louis in the 70s. Swampeast?
*or Southeast. Sikeston I noticed your MO plates in the garage.
@@hdlstns Yup! I miss Saint Louis summers and Cardinal baseball.
Neil DeWitt I’m in, bud. We need to grab a beer for sure. Looking forward to it!
Give me a pm i have more to tell you if your interested.
Another place in Hill City before jumping the train right across the street is a place thats great i think its Roses. Not sure on the name. Ruby's might be the name. I forgot!

RIGHT ON!!
The ponderosa in hulett
How’s it work for concealed firearms being brought in? It says no firearms allowed but I don’t imagine legal ccw holders are just leaving their firearms at home
I don't carry at Sturgis. Only place where I don't... or do I... It really is don't ask don't tell, but those nights where you think you're gonna go hard its better to not also be carrying. You meet the wrong dude in blue at the wrong time... You know how it goes.
@@ProfessionalMonkey sorry I just mean do you get searched upon entering the chip. Iv heard you mention they poke around for liquor etc I wondered if you were searched for a concealed firearm as well. I’d be riding in and tent camping and was curious about that
Lewie's Burger's is pretty good
