    Where did you get the suspension kit with the spindle and everything I'm looking to get my front suspension set up with control arms before installing this kit

      Also will stock suspension work with this kit or did you have to Frankenstein a bunch of pieces together?

      The suspension kit is from UMI. It is their GM A-body Stage 2 kit. Summit sells the spindles.

      Yes, stock suspension will work with this kit.

    Be sure to check your valve stems for clearance if they are inside the wheel. There are low-profile stems available.

    Did you run a washer and shim you front of the bolt ??? If so did that help with the spacing for the brake pads????

    • @midatlanticcustoms
      @midatlanticcustoms  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes we did run a shim, but it didn't change the brake bad mounting

    Hello im doing the same exact set-up got a quick question do you use red or blue loctite for each set up such as the bolts for the hub as well as the adapter plate and rotor

    • @midatlanticcustoms
      @midatlanticcustoms  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Things that you won't be servicing regularly (wheel hub adapter brackets, spindle bolt nuts, etc) you can use the red loc-tite. The other serviceable items (caliper bolts) it's best to use blue loc-tite. Hope this helps.

      @@midatlanticcustomsgot another quick question if you can help on the black rotors it's an arrow on each of them if you're facing them one would be going clockwise and the other counter clockwise so would the clockwise arrow go on the passenger side rotor and the counter clockwise go on the driver's side right

    • @midatlanticcustoms
      @midatlanticcustoms  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dewaynemitchell3931 yes, that would make sense. I've seen different companies set it up in different ways. What is the part # for the kit you are installing ?

    • @midatlanticcustoms
      @midatlanticcustoms  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Nope, this is factory style spindle and no modifications required. Just can't run anything smaller than 15" wheel with this set-up. Some 14" may work.

    One pad had a lil play on 1 side is that going to be a issues for me and when i add more shim to fill the gap the other was tight but here the thing they go in nice i just have a lil play

    those look like the rear calipers not the front set. is that right?

    • @midatlanticcustoms
      @midatlanticcustoms  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is definitely the front set. Wilwood produces these so you can mount them on either side of the spindle, depending on your set-up. We just mounted them on the fwd side vs the rear.

      @@midatlanticcustoms thanks for the quick response! I'm helping a friend, just got the instructions, had him send me links to what he ordered so i can sort rear from front. noticed the front has smaller pads but four pistons but the rear has unusually larger pads with only 2 pistons.

      Yeah, I would double check part #s. Wilwood makes lots of different variations of these, and it's easy to mix them up!

    calliper bracket on the wrong side ? and bleeders need to go up, caliper on the rear side towards the back

    • @midatlanticcustoms
      @midatlanticcustoms  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Calipers have bleeders on both ends, so they can be installed in either configuration. The brackets are in the correct orientation. Check the assembly instructions here: www.wilwood.com/BrakeKits/BrakeKitsProdFront?itemno=140-10996-DR

    • @gaslightapparel2443

      Calipers should be on back side of spindle. Firewall side, not tie rod side

      @@gaslightapparel2443 direct from wilwood's manual: "*NOTE: Some applications for this kit have the steering arm to the rear of the spindle and others to the front. Also, some applications have room to mount the bracket and caliper on the steering arm side of the spindle while the steering arm may interfere in other applications. The brackets in this kit may be mounted on either the front or rear side of the spindle."

    Spindle factory or other

    • @midatlanticcustoms
      @midatlanticcustoms  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We replaced the spindle before we installed this kit. The OEM spindle had a large amount of wear at the bearing interface.
