Yamaha MT-10 Wheelie Control Testing

- Trying to show how each mode of Yamaha's LIF control works.
Correction to video:
First Wheelie Control Test - Full Power / Lif set to 3 / TC on Low
Second Wheelie Control Test - Full Power / Lif set to 2 / TC on Low
Third Wheelie Control Test - Full Power / Lif set to 1 / TC on Low
I generally ride with everything "on" but set to the least intrusive settings, which allows a decently high wheelie, but also prevents unwanted slides and loops.
Thanks for watching

i have 2024 mt 10 sp and i have always used a mode A and lif 1. sometimes i get scared im loop still but this vid made me feel better about it
@@holdingnutria5622 I definitely have nearly looped it when I’ve turned off LIF and forgot to turn it back on. Once your used to that tech it’s dangerous to turn it off lol. Thanks for watching!
I clicked for the wheelie control content and I left thinking “dang, now I want to go hit those clover interchanges back-to-back like that.” Good video.
I expected to just see a gopro on your helmet and see wheelies but this was actually a really cool way of showing it. Thanks my man!
I didn't realise level 2 would let the front end come up so much. I've been using level 1 on mine trying to get used to that (literally no previous wheelie experience lol) and think it would be best to drop it down one now after seeing this 🤟🏼
@@joebannister4327 yea level 2 felt pretty similar to 1. Level 3 might be best if you were trying to launch it from a stop maybe. Cool system just don’t forget when you turn it off lol, I’ve had a few scares when I’ve gone to take off fast and I forgot I had turned it off. Ride safe and thanks for watching!
Great video my friend! Your wheelies are very smooth! Looking good brother💯
@@kyled4156 thank you!
buying mt10 this weekend 💪💪
@@MyMT07 🤘😆
I just send it. Mode A. Level 1 for everything else. Great bike.
Agreed, that’s how I’ve been running mine for 12k miles. Bike is so much fun, thanks for watching!
Wow very good timing on this vid I must say haha.
I was doing something similar on my '23 this morning. Get home and see this on my feed. Perfect!
I run mode B with LIF2 and felt like the bike doesn't wheelie as much as it used to when I first got it (in the same modes), which kinda worried me (5500km/3500mi on it now). I feel like it used to do power wheelies in 3rd no problem, now it seems like I have to really try. Feels quick as ever though, so I'm wondering if my inputs are more refined now as opposed to back then... Came from a much slower bike to this monster haha.
Anyway, great vid as always man! Stay safe my friend!
@@dotaleet appreciate it! Thanks for watching and for the comment!
Love the vid my guy!! Just recently got a 22 MT-10 and have been wondering how effective the wheelie control is!
@@Ben_RN5.0 On the MT10 at least it’s a pretty solid system, thanks for watching!
Just bought a 23’ MT10, did a few wheelies in A mode and lift in 1 and it’s for sure scary 🤣 but thank you for this makes more confident. I could get to balance point on my old fz07 and drz400 but this bikes a different animal
@@Zakilgore congrats, no doubt I trust the bike with wheelie control on but haven’t had the guts to run it without.
@@2WCapo thank you! Yeah I think I’ll stick to lift on 1 for a while lol
Another cool video, keep on ridind Capo
Hi. Very cool, thanks for taking the time to show the LIF settings, helpful. Which throttle map did you use? And when you do wheelies with LIF off, which throttle map to you prefer? I'm wondering about when you mentioned it may wheelie better with a 200 rear, I'm wondering why? The rear will sit a few mm taller right? Regards.
@@irf888 I usually use the most sensitive throttle setting because I typically leave LIF on lowest setting. The few times I’ve turned it off I def suggest throttle 2 (B mode). I think the taller 200 rear maybe tricked the LIF control to allow me to go a bit higher and longer. Thanks for watching!
Thanks.
I always keep it on 1, getting it up there nice and high. I try keeping it going by quick shifting to second. Of course I’ve neutral bombed it from time to time, when I didn’t upshift hard enough. lol.
@@johnhernandez6434 I have been having that same issue lately, glad I’m not the only one lol. Glad to hear from ya and that your still loving the 10. Ride safe!
Rip 360 Cam
@@DOITWITHDAN for real, smooth move on my part lol.
Nice video! Where you really full throttle the whole time or did you modulate a bit? I am so scared to hold it open on mine 😂
@@Lambobabos full throttle, try in the middle setting and once you feel it come up you can let the bike do the rest. If your unsure just keep your foot on the rear brake just in case.
Hi, great video! I noticed you have a "decat", did you put your bike on the ECU?
I have a stock 23 wheel, without modifications, and it seems that the front wheel does not go into the sky willingly. Remember how good it was to power wheelie without an ECU? Thanks a lot
@@P.G.-yb5ff yes I have the Leo Vince decat and I shipped my ECU to 2WheelDynoWorks for an ECU flash. Gained a ton of power and also significantly smoothed out the throttle. Best mod you can do for the MT10. Thanks for watching and the comment!
@@2WCaposame thing buy a moore mafia canned tune. He accidentally turned on snaps and bangs. Midrange up shifts sounds like a gun shot.
I've been looking for a vid that tests LIF control like this since i got my 23 mt10. Im too much of a wimp to test LIF myself, especially on a 15k machine.
@@beefytom1 yea I’ve learned to trust the system but I’m also not trying to crash my bike, so the little ride out wheelies with LIF on low is good enough for me, thanks for watching!
The insta360 x4 lensguardd makes a lot of sense now.
@@KaizersPOV 100%, luckily Insta360 has a very good repair process so I was able to get a replacement for a lot less than a new camera. But from now on lense covers lol.
@@2WCapo haha, a lens with a little glare is okay vs a scratched lens. But I digress an ND filter lens guard would be amazing.
Bro, I don't know how much you helped. I had first gen and now have the 22. Never able to wheelie the bike. Too chicken shit to give the throttle. I watched your video yesterday and I was doing power wheelie today. You don't know how much I appreciate your video. I wanted ask you even after turning of SCS, light comes in at 10000 rpm and front suddenly drops. Do you happen to know why? I kept TCS 1 , LC 1 and SCS 1
@@jacksonjames1279 I haven’t noticed the SCS light, I keep mine on 1 I believe. Happy to help! I just keep everything on the lowest settings.
Lift control.
Set 1-2-3
which of the three options keeps the wheel off the road i'm confuse
@@nikfif the higher the number the lower it allows you to raise the front wheel, I think I mixed up “lowest setting” a few times. I started at level 3 and worked down to 1.
Does Gen 1 have this too?
Gen 1 dies not have Leif control
Nice😂😂
