- Sorry if this video is a bit rambly, and maybe not the best wheelie tutorial for everyone but this is how I learned how to wheelie.

Just wanted to say that I learned how to power wheelie on my mt09 watching this video. Took me about 2 months but since I was commuting it was a lot easier to practise everyday. Baby steps is key and remember to lean back!
I used to wheelie the absolute F outta my old XR 200 dirtbike after school every day, I'd just clutchless upshift all the way to 6th lol. Can't wait to get the mt10 after 5 years with my 07 600RR. It's time.
That's my favourite spot in Mexico, I go there to wheelie all the time 😉
Trouble with power wheelies on the MT-07 is it feels like you have no control, they feel sketchy af compared to clutch ups lol since I learned clutch ups I hate doing power wheelies.

I practiced on the '04 FZ6 yesterday, it loves to wheelie. But the one you're on... that is such a torque king! I love it! You have one of the funnest and badass wheelie bikes made. And that sound...🐒🏍👌 it sounds like a built hot rod. Blessings to you hoolie
Everybody talks about how to wheelie but nobody mentions that on the MT-09 TCS has to be set to atleast 1 or off completely do to proper wheelies.
You make it look easy. I have an old FZ1 with 5 valve engine, have to really rev it to power wheelie. Very scary.
Everyone keeps telling me clutch ups are safer than power wheelies. I think that is not true. I feel I will loop a clutch up over a power wheelie. I feel more comfortable and have more control of the initial point of when the bike comes up. I’ve tried a clutch up and it scared the crap out of me! 😄 I have a 2017 FZ-10 with a tune. Thing is a monster!
What TC and riding mode are you?

This is exactly how I taught myself also. I always hated trying to do clutch ups it was just one more thing to fuck up and I was never consistent with it. So I started doing 1st gear power wheelies slowly going higher as I got used to the feeling. I don’t have either of those bikes but mines a GSX-S 750 and the power band is pretty much the same as a mt-09. Good video!
power band is not even close in tourqe with mt09
@@aressimbamt0959 IDK what you're talking about they are literally almost exact, both around 60 pounds or torque and at about 9,500 RPM to 10,000. both have about the same horsepower also. When I ride mine then an MT-09 they feel almost identical so idk what you mean at all.

Very good tips man! I learned primarily in 1st gear bc my 2nd gears are weird in comparison to a 18’ mt which my buddy had. Learning the throttle when it’s so sensitive is what ultimately let me learn powers through out the rest of the first 3 gears. Clutch ups came easy right after. 😎

Way easier to clutch up 3rd or 4th on the fz10 especially if you don't have a quickshifter or smooth throttle control bc in lower gears it's a bit radical(snappy) I personally started on a 600rr never rode dirt bikes or anything, learned to wheelie 2nd gear clutch ups. To each their own but cover that rear brake
3rd gear clutch ups are the best
1 & 2 you can just crack the throttle and wheelie
Man one thing I know for sure. It doesn’t work with the sv650 unless you use the clutch and you twist that throttle as much as you can🎉
My bike doesn’t power wheelie this much especially not sitting close to the tank, has an ecu flash and nice pipe on it, not sure how yours power wheelies so easy
Fuck yeah man loved the advice, ive just been practicing power wheelies in second gear on my 09, 6k rpm and blip the throttle it comes right up, however i cant hold it that long lol i guess ill just keep sending it.

That’s cuz the 03 is slow, you can do it you just have to dump a lot of clutch and pull up really hard
Cool video! Lots of really good tips. When you quickshift while in a wheelie are you doing anything with the throttle? Everytime I shift in wheelie the front drops down to the ground.
You gotta give it more throttle when you shift, that will be my next video explaing the quickshifter and how to keep the front tire up
Don't forget to turn traction control off, mine won't do it with it on

I have a 2023 MT-07 but does the ABS and it being A2 restricted stop me trying to wheelie?
What ur saying is on ur particular bike, the power band is 9k rpm and that's when u twist the throttle for a power wheelie ? I've done it backwards on my zx9r and learned clutch ups but sold that and am getting a fz8. I haven't had much luck finding power band to do a power wheelie.
I have a Tuono and I still find it difficult to power wheelie as easy as that. Just stays on the ground and takes off like a rocket ship, even with al the traction and wheelie control off.

once you get that girl up to 5300k feet... clutch ups are the only way to get them to pop up

Rider weight has a whole lot to do with it. Im 250 and i have to snatch the throttle in 1st to get the front wheel up. 2nd 3rd clutch ups on the mt10. My old tuono would power wheelie in 2nd.

I don’t agree. Power ups are easier on the bike and easier to learn doing. Just cover the rear brake always.

If you wanna practice low speed wheelies you gotta get a grom or something because doing stunt type of wheelies it’s way easier to crash

Lol you've never hit balance point, you are pretty good at power wheelies but that's easy with a bike that has that much power and a quickshifter. You really shouldn't be teaching people how to wheelie, I mean cmon "you should kinda be covering the rear brake a little bit" nah bro that rear brake is your life line when you do real wheelies.

hi i have a question I've ridden mt10 do you turn off traction control what setting do you use and power modes ?, as on a test ride i did i got a good wheelie going but then it slamed down hard, i'm used to wheelies on my fireblade and other bike's
Exploring with mark you hold up on the TCs button while not moving to turn it off completely, as for power modes I only ride in mode 1

Power wheelies are sketchy u don’t know how high it can come up especially in 1st gear! Try 2nd gear clutch up and hover the rear break
This is how I learned and in my experience with wheelies which is plentiful this is the safest way to do it without crashing, there is still a risk of that no matter what though
finally mt10 vid how to wheelie it i see that you have tc off what riding mode did you use? a mode is litle bit crazy for the first time wheelies
For me ive noticed Standard mode is best as it comes up gradually
TheMacki95 TheMacki95 I ride in whatever the fastest power mode is, I would heavily suggest getting an ecu tune. It’ll improve the throttle response and give you more power.
I used Bauce racing for my ecu tune and haven’t had any problems, you just ship your ecu to them and it’s about 220$ I think

david gray I just turn it all the way off, the reason being I’ve had it freak out on me and cut power modes wheelie and I couldn’t accelerate until I stopped
I tried a clutch up on my FZ-10 in TC1 and the rear tire broke loose and stuttered. I am just now learning to wheelie.

While wheeling MT10 I had to put an exhaust which makes less noise because without a catalyzer it makes so much noise on high RMP I had difficulties in proper focus.
Do I need to put my MT09 in a specific mode? Or just take TCS off?
yeah as long as TCS is off you'll have enough power even in C mode
TCS really only fucks with clutch ups in my experience, couldn't hurt to turn it off though. Power mode in A all day bro, it helps you to keep it up, just crack it if it starts to dip back down and it will usually pull back up, get ready to quickshift

e34_THC I learned how to wheelie on a 09 r6 but I wasn’t very good and couldn’t hold them very long. I think you can learn wheelies with out dumping the 09 you just gotta be patient, try standard mode in second gear and give it a tug and some gas should come right up, from there it’s all about steady improvement

I don’t have very much seat time on the 09 but when i wheelied it i was 2nd great power mode b/standard no Tcs
Turn the TC off or you won't be able to do clutch ups. Also until you get an ecu flash stick to B mode wheelies. Doing them in A mode or even standard is asking for trouble

I have an mt07 and don't even use 1st gear to wheelie. The way you're wheelieing at the beginning only works on fast bikes and I consider it cheating. It doesn't really make you better either. You should've skipped the first part.
