Another great walk Dave! I think the action man figure looking out across the river was pondering life and it’s many mysteries 😆 Loved the cooking segment; I’ll definitely give that recipe a whirl as I didn’t realise you could cook a carbonara as easily as that! And thank you for taking someone else’s rubbish home with you - so important to keep these beauty spots beautiful! ☺️
Great video. Both the scenery and the cooking! The Trangia multi disc would indeed have been handy as a strainer. It's a pity they don't make one for the Trangia Mini. The only omission was the black pepper, which gives the dish it's Italian name, which I believe translates as "chimney sweeps spaghetti." Just a matter of taste though, like substituting cheddar for parmesan. Keep up the good work!
When I first saw your hike on that Level 5 at Soldiers Lump I thought, nah, not going back again, but the more I see, the more I think I need to do this before the 88 Trig Point Challenge or at least interleave them. I know we are all individuals, but you've been at this longer than me, Dave. Do you gain more traction by doing one challenge than interleaving? As for the trangia, what are the benefits of using this over gas and small burner? I retired a year ago and loving the outdoors. I haven't your experience as I'm only 7 months into my hiking life, sadly, but I'm keen to learn. Any advice really appreciated. Great vlog. Thanks for sharing 👍
For me personally I think I need to have one goal I'm working towards, but I then chuck in a camp or two to kind of have a break from time to time and refocus. I love using my trangia and I think if I was to recommend fuel type, it is much easier to use gas. Not sure I'm happy about the environmental aspect of the gas cannister, so that's why I went for liquid. Also you can see how much liquid you have left, whereas with the cannister of gas it can be less clear. Gas is definitely easier though. My advice is really to keep trying things, you'll find your own way, your own limits, and have an eye on any bits and pieces you can buy which will help make your own personal travels as comfy as possible. I try to keep pushing myself, but never particularly too far beyond what I think I'm going to be able to manage. I wouldn't want to finish a hike too often sad, tired and grumpy and regretting heading out. We do it for pleasure so keep it pleasurable. Keep going buddy 👍
It's the Collins ramblers guide to the Peak District. I think it's this one. Peak District (Collins Rambler’s Guides:) amzn.eu/d/3pjNgjF Hope this helps 👍
Another awesome video dude dovedale looks beautiful and the pasta looks yummy. If it helps trangia do the multi disc chopping board and strainer in one that may be of use to you dude. 🔥🔥🔥
Top walkout thanks,as i know Dovedale like the back of my hand as live in Derby, also i have had my Trangia for years and i now have my Trangia Non - Stick Frypan 25 or 27 from Ebay if you fancy one, thanks (y)
The food looks decent though I've never actually tried pasta before and I think this might be beyond my cooking skills anyway. I will do 6 burgers again this week I think - that wor champion! The walk this week looks great by the way. Will you be doing any walks in Wakefield or Pontefract at any point? There are some nice routes in these parts
Thank you Craig. The pasta dish is super simple and well worth a try if you get chance. I will have a look and see what I could take in around Wakefield and Ponty. Maybe something around Pontefract Castle would be good.
@@bushcraftdavetrangia thanks mate. I'm just not too sure i'd like pasta - it looks quite slimy to me. i know what i'm getting with burgers! Ponte castle is really nice - i'd recommend it. and speaking of castles, castleford is the pride of west yorkshire!
My mum said, rather than try to get all the corned beef into the dumplings, chop half up for the dumplings (so they are smaller than I did) then the other half of the corned beef chopped up goes into the soup to make it have even more beefyness (if that's a word). Enjoy

Thank you Oldigger. A bit of pepper would be a nice addition. Glad you enjoyed it

Thank you Marshy. Glad you like the video. I've seen that multi disc and it's in my wishlist. Definitely one to get in the future.

hi Dave, I have copied your mums recipes down - I'm planning to do a week away with a few lads in July so they will be used I'm sure.
