I wish I had the tools to do so
Daniel Piot I wouldn’t normally get my DIY ideas from a computer channel, but I’m well up for making this. Building a workshop currently and it’ll likely be one of my projects. Loving that clean look.
I wish I had a workshop. There's a chance that when I move out my parents will use the extra garage space to build one.
Ill make one at work with my CNC!
If I wasn't in an apartment I'd totally do this. Seems like a cool project to learn some woodworking on as well.
"I remember when 30" displays were super expensive" Yeah, so do I, Linus. It's called "today"
Well it ain't cheap that's for sure. My 50" TCL 4k tv only cost about half of what this monitor costs. The one thing I will say though is that I'm sure that monitor gives a much better picture.
Well, my "no name" 32", 1440p, 60Hz was around 350$. For casual gaming and work in CAD software it's great (paired up with i5-8400 and RTX2060)
I have an Acer curved 32.1 inch monitor I got for $250.00
It depends what res - 55"-65" is now very affordable for a TV even at 4K, let alone 1080p.
Ben Q has a 32 inch 4K 60hz 1ms monitor for $299 right now. I think LG has one with the same specs for about $279. I was seriously considering the Ben Q
Can LTT make these desk so we actually have a legit reason to visit the LTT store lol
Don’t think it’s feasible cause everything is custom built and if they did it would be so expensive that it wouldn’t be worth it
@@josiahberan6077 mass production can be done easily but they won’t
Facts I thought LTT store was like for tech stuff but it's just regular TH-camr merch, I mean what a miss
@@josiahberan6077 in the current state mass production would not be reasonable. But the table itself with the interface in the front and without the monitor stand could be outsourced and mass produced. You could even sell the table and the monitor stand in a bundle. DIY Perks 'I then saw this project Linus Tech Tips is coming out with and thought "oh, no I better tell him" and he said "It's OK" so check his desk out'
LMG to Internet "This has probably been done before but we didn't see it".
Completely different project. This is about hiding cables. DIY Perk's video is specifically about building a PC that is also a desk. The finished desks look vaguely similar. Apart from that the videos have nothing in common.
No, I think DIY Perks was referring to another in-desk PC that Linus was building, which Linus even mentions it at the end of this video.
@@WolvenSpectre This isn't the project Matt was referring to. This one is: th-cam.com/video/7MgWlSHebcY/w-d-xo.html
If anyone wants to do this without custom building a desk, I recently built a cable management box for my set up and it was super easy!
I made it with scrap wood from the garage in about an hour - I made a 3.5 sided box, bottom, then front and sides full walls, and then a short wall with a hole on the open side (faces the back of the desk) to help control the display cables. Made it large enough to mount a power bar and all my AC adapters / extra cable. Put a hole on the on the bottom right above the back of the pc for all the cables to run out in a nice bundle, and finally a hole on the side wall next to the desk leg for the power bar cable to run down. Twist tied any bundles of wires together (like going from box to pc or display) for an even cleaner look - tip, use twist ties for cable management over zip ties as they are easier to adjust when you inevitably want to make a change. Mounted the box on the underside of the desk with L brackets and you can only see it from one spot in the room if you are looking for it specifically. I was also able to hide my wifi / bluetooth antenna in there for an ultra clean set up!
All my cables are now out of sight and out of mind while also improving my airflow / cooling coming out of the back of the case! Its also handy as everything on the desk is supplied by one power cord that plugs into the wall - so moving the system / supplying power is super easy.

Zero*
Zero? But why in 0:56 there is a wire?
@Max Conner Who me
I was hoping the wires would go inside the stand and not show at all... among other things. This was just a desk in the end.
LTT: the cleanest desk setup

@@user-qu7qh7qj2t Linus started a in-desk PC build a few months ago as well but there's been no sign or mention of it so far.
@@user-qu7qh7qj2t because this isn't a desk PC build. it's a regular setup w/ "invisible" cables

LTT desk V2 aka DIY Perks PC in desk build... th-cam.com/video/Perqf0dOGLk/w-d-xo.html
@@user-qu7qh7qj2t diyperks is the cleanest DESK setup. Ltt is cleanest PC desk setup. Diyperks doesn't even want the monitor on the desk, literally nothing should be on the desk. Basically a desk that CAN be used with a computer. Meanwhile, ltt goes for clean pc desk area. Different concepts tbf. Their focus is quite different. Both are good depending on what is needed
That monitor is insane
Love it. This is a keeper.
If only LG sells their ergo monitor arm separately too, I would have bought it stat
I saw this monitor stand when attending CES in 2019.
I agree.
But it's still $300 cheaper than Apple's offering and comes with a free monitor in the box!
For people who just want a quick&easy low-teach approach to this:
Go get yourself some hooks with screw-ends on them at some hardware-store. (or if your table is not very thick I'm sure some adhesive alternative exists)
Then just put those at the underside of the table all the way towards the back (assuming your table is against a wall, which I'm sure is pretty common).
Route your cables on the hooks and you will have a neat combination of them being "invisible" unless you actually stick your head underneath to look - and them still being fairly easily accessible if you need to add something or make changes.
For a trivial cost this can really make your computer desk go from a mess to "wife approved" (which as we all know is the highest seal of approval one can strive for).
Have you thought about building a set up like this on top of a electric sit/stand desk like the Vari or Uplift? Several of these companies sell just the legs. This would be an awesome clean ergonomic productivity setup.
“The exact Size doesn’t matter”

@Laura Brown what kind of shitty promotion is this?
“We don’t want to see any wires” *looks at monitor behind Linus* wire sticking out the whole video 🤷🏼♂️
Where? I can't see it. The LG monitor he's sitting in front of has some wires tucked away but not "sticking out"
@@jjcoolaus But it contradicts their "project zero cable" title
@@karlcorrz thats impossible for obvious reasons
Which are stated in the video
@@demonvxv4878 So they titled something impossible but yet still chose to use that wording. It's called clickbait.
