Also, if you want to mount a power strip with screws, use masking tape, or painters' tape. Tape it to the back of the power strip. Poke holes in the tape where the mounting holes are. The 3M command strips that use the interlocking plastic pegs instead of normal hook and loop (marketed for mounting heavier artworks/framed photos to walls) work exceptionally well for mounting power bricks (even large ones) to furniture. The trick is to orient the strips so that the long dimension runs along the axis of gravity. I've done this for years and nothing has ever fallen off, yet it is a cheap locally available product and easy to remove later. The main flaw is that they are not re-usable once removed.

The power bar screws are so easy to make holes for. Literally get a piece of paper, lay it over the back of the power bar where the screw holes are, and then take a pencil and make marks at the top slit above each little screw circle thing. (Don't make the marks on the large holes themselves since that's just where the screws just insert, not slide)
Then take your marked paper place it on whatever you want your power bar attached to and poke a hole at the slit marks, can use some sort of level if you want, then pilot holes or whatever you want to do to mount it.
I have some battery backup power bars for my workstations mounted on the wall on the other side of the wall using wall anchors and have a nice brushed hole for cords to connect.

@@ollianddelphine Not really, imagine the battery in your phone as a great example of a LiPo battery that charges in a very enclosed and warm space. The main issue is a false sense of security.
Battery enclosures are supposed to prevent a fire from spreading for specified amounts of time so that fire alarms can sound and allow for evacuation. Generally, for real battery enclosures, this will get you 90 minutes of time when exposed to ordinary open flame and can resist battery explosions/lithium fires to keep their effects inside the cabinet.
I think the dumb part about it is there are cheaper and better solutions. Those two boxes ran him $50 USD, safer (but not preferred over real cabinets) lipo storage can be had way cheaper and will actually help give you time to deal with battery fires.

It's super awesome I have one sitting next to battery farm and it saved my house when a car battery I was charging literally blew up in my garage. It did almost no damage to the garage there is just carbon scorching on the a small section of the wall.

@@veryboringname. I prefer the cable to safely pop off if there is strong enough lateral pull, I did damage a phones port once years ago when I was in a hurry and ripped the phone while charging. Everyone has different needs and preferences, if magnetic cables don't meet your needs that's alright, you don't have to use one. I personally charge my devices either at the desk or the night stand. Somewhat similar to what was shown in the video. The devices I charge with magnetic cable are headphones, controllers, portable lights with motion sensor, AA battery charger, even a portable blender and of course a couple of tablets and my phone. My laptop needs it's 90W so that is used with the charger it came with. Since a lot of the devices are charged once a week or even once every two months it is a lot more convenient for me to have one type of charging cable that is also working with older devices. I know that I migh have even more chargeables on my nightstand than shown here but I definitely have less cables. That is why I mentioned the existence of the magnetic cables, someone might find this information of use.

Those power strip magnetic mounts are genius. It’s 100% better than the command strips I’ve been using. Need these to come out NOW

Backhanded product launch? Shows off the gecko tape stuff that directly competes with his new magnetic mounts in the same video XD

I always mount power strips with command strips. Really works well with desks that have a holder for your power strips so you can stick it down. This keeps it in place, but doesn’t have sheer force on the command strips

Great video with good tips! Been using Anker cables and power banks for many, many years now and definitely my go to brand! That ending product with the combined power bank was pretty cool. Looking forward to the LTT line of cable management

Hey LTT you can actually get smaller or custom length fiber optic cables. I don’t know who your ISP is but if it’s AT&T a technician would definitely be able to come do that for you, I’m sure other ISPs are similar. I’m a wire technician and it’s my job to make cables of all sorts of lengths. Anyway, great video!
