In another timeline, I could actually have seen Marty tackle The Question or Moon Knight. Not the goofy ass Moon Knight show we got, but a Taxi Driver style Moon Knight. Heard Killers of the Flower Moon was good at least. Marty is more of a legend than Kevin Feige could ever hope to be, and in the end he was right about most superhero films.

I said it out loud to my screen as I heard the line. Yep. Looking back, you wouldn't expect people to remember the Avengers. Its a really neat movie. But Infinity War has way more weight, with its lines and all the positive memes. The thing is Disney sucks so bad that more and more people are rewatching Avengers recently. And the movie holds up. Including the dialogue.
I loved in the trailer,when DARBEN said “ no man can defeat me” and captain marvel replied “ I AM NO MAN”and used the bengals of power, to punch DARBEN in the face. Then captain marvel said her iconic line” YOU CANT HANDLE THE TRUTH, BECAUSE YOU HAVE NOT SEEN WHAT I HAVE SEEN.”
The worst part about this trailer is not just the footage used but Nick Fury’s narration is so obviously lines of his from Avengers that have been ripped and put in to make it looks like he says them in the movie. I guarantee Fury will say nothing like it in the Marvels
I think the funny part nobody is noticing is that this means that this movie is so BEREFT of good dialogue that they _HAD TO_ pilfer from previous movies.
You know that spinning shot in the first avengers movie, where all the heroes are back to back in a circle? Its at this point that I fully expect them to photoshop captain marvel into these shots and go... "Oh my god! remember this iconic scene?!"
Captain Marvel now reminds me of Darth Plagueis and how his novel retroactively inserted him into the Phantom Menace or the dozen or so Jigsaw apprentices that are there in the first movie if you just pan the camera a bit to the left. Even though I don't actually hate the character, it's been really funny watching Marvel trying and failing for years to make Carol this very important thing in the films that you should care about.
Marvel in general, not just the films. Which is why I really liked it when they guys brought up the issue of these characters doing horrible things and never suffering the consequences of them. I'd love a sub-plot in this movie about Carol recruiting Kamala into he private army of child soldiers so they can illegally police thought crimes. Like in the comics.

For those who don't, try and read "Monica" slowly and it sounds like something completely different which together with "black girl" becomes hilarious. It had to have been intentional.
This trailer reminds me of the Rise of Skywalker marketing. Remember The OT? Remember Palpatine? Togther with the buttpull of "The Skywalker Saga" and how tacked on that was. It's the same hymn sheet and it _IS_ desperation. I'm surprised they didn't call it the movie "The Rise of Iron Man" or something just get your butt in a seat just so you can figure out why it's got "Iron Man" in the title when Iron Man is dead. Reminds me of when Blizzard kept trying to hype everyone on the final patches for Shadowlands by saying they were tying up storylines 20 years in the making. Even though nothing both in the expansion or the marketing beforehand even hinted at that idea. Then again that was because Square Enix was releasing Endwalker which was an ACTUAL conclusion to a decade's worth of story. Not sure if its entirely one-for-one with this but its still pretty hilarious how much current day Marvel and Blizzard are one and the same.

The reason the X-Men may be appearing in the post credits for this movie specifically is that in the Ms. Marvel show they say that Kamala is a mutant while playing the X-Men 90's theme sting so you knew they meant THAT kind of mutant and i'm guessing they're going to double down on that in this. They recently made the character a mutant in the comics too, despite her getting her superpowers from what was effectively an anti-mutant chemical weapon attack. But the push to sideline the X-Men to spite Fox fell through, so now they've attached their OC to a new host.
I love how the marketing for this film was all "Heh yeah! Wacky! Adventure! Girl boss squad! Slaaaaayyyyy~ no BOYS allowed!~" And _now_ it's "... Deep. Contemplative. Weighty... there's _history_ here... History. Is deep. Contemplative. Weighty... and these heroes... are also... deep. Contemplative. Weighty..." It's the movie trailer version of the "video essay voice..." that Mauler mocks. It's like... so transparently fake and manipulative that's it's sincerely funny.

I'd also like to point out that the Fury line they used from 2012 is ACTUALLY in the film so it had context and the context behind that was Fury asking Thor what he was prepared to do, in a way that i always took as "what are you prepared to do to your brother to get information from him." Fury seems to be insinuating that they would try to employ less than humane means to get info from Loki and is asking Thor is he's willing to put aside his (albiet strained) familial relationship with Loki to get what they want from him.
I think i figured out the villian. It's back to basics for Marvel where she is the evil 'Captain Marvel' whereas Brea Larson got her power from the Space Stone, our new villain got her power from the Power Stone. That explains the purple power dispite the Power Stone being destroyed, she has been embedded with its power just like Captain Marvel and the Space Stone.

when it comes to the stone in the hammer, i'm betting they're going to say that skrulls stole the schematics for the avengers time machine and the pimp particles, but the kree or whatever stole it from them and used it instead to fulfill ronan's mission and steal the power stone. I'm willing to bet we even get a scene where WOM'an the metoo Accuser kicks the crap out of RON'an the regular accuser and steals it from him, thus fulfilling Lee Pace's contractual agreements to appear in 3-4 marvel films. EDIT: also, did anyone ever play the guardians of the galaxy game that came out a few years back???? that was fun - it had it's issues like, you couldn't choose which player you controlled you were ALWAYS Starlord and you had to use button promts to tell the crew what to do in battles and while platforming, but i thought it was a pretty fun game, good story, cool visuals and music the battle system was fun but would have been cooler if you could swap main characters and very linear "on track" levels - no sandbox - but yeah I genuinely actually rank it about a 7 out of 10. I thought it was a very enjoyable gaming experience, cinematic but also very involving, if you didn't like the third guardians film, try the game, it's like Guardians meets Uncharted.

@@Superclips005 I couldn't agree more, same with Tron: Uprising which was surprisingly good. I also tend to view Tron: Legacy was the perfect rainy day film due to the neon lights. it's such a gorgeous film to look at, plus that Daft Punk score is still awesome.
Hollywood is extremely exploitative of CGI studios; essentially giving the job to the lowest bidder and overworking them under impossible deadlines. Not only that, but Tron Legacy had a thing movies used to do called pre-production, where time was given to plan out the movie before filming began. That doesn't happen anymore and instead, the team figures out what the movie will look like while they're filming it, often with many changes during or in post-production at the whims of the executives.

Looking back, you wouldn't expect people to remember the Avengers. Its a really neat movie. But Infinity War has way more weight, with its lines and all the positive memes.

The worst part about this trailer is not just the footage used but Nick Fury’s narration is so obviously lines of his from Avengers that have been ripped and put in to make it looks like he says them in the movie. I guarantee Fury will say nothing like it in the Marvels

I think the funny part nobody is noticing is that this means that this movie is so BEREFT of good dialogue that they _HAD TO_ pilfer from previous movies.
You know that spinning shot in the first avengers movie, where all the heroes are back to back in a circle? Its at this point that I fully expect them to photoshop captain marvel into these shots and go... "Oh my god! remember this iconic scene?!"
Captain Marvel now reminds me of Darth Plagueis and how his novel retroactively inserted him into the Phantom Menace or the dozen or so Jigsaw apprentices that are there in the first movie if you just pan the camera a bit to the left. Even though I don't actually hate the character, it's been really funny watching Marvel trying and failing for years to make Carol this very important thing in the films that you should care about.

Marvel in general, not just the films. Which is why I really liked it when they guys brought up the issue of these characters doing horrible things and never suffering the consequences of them.
I'd love a sub-plot in this movie about Carol recruiting Kamala into he private army of child soldiers so they can illegally police thought crimes. Like in the comics.

@enjoytheholidays Definitely. As with many characters and stories, I don't like what they've done with her lately, but Kitty has always been a favorite. And, Janet is so much better in the comics, as with - again - many MCU characters, especially in recent years.
The line "Monica, you gotta fly! Black girl magic!" gets infinitely funnier when you remember the old "Mah monica" meme. For those who don't, try and read "Monica" slowly and it sounds like something completely different which together with "black girl" becomes hilarious. It had to have been intentional.

This trailer reminds me of the Rise of Skywalker marketing. Remember The OT? Remember Palpatine? Togther with the buttpull of "The Skywalker Saga" and how tacked on that was.
It's the same hymn sheet and it _IS_ desperation. I'm surprised they didn't call it the movie "The Rise of Iron Man" or something just get your butt in a seat just so you can figure out why it's got "Iron Man" in the title when Iron Man is dead.

Reminds me of when Blizzard kept trying to hype everyone on the final patches for Shadowlands by saying they were tying up storylines 20 years in the making. Even though nothing both in the expansion or the marketing beforehand even hinted at that idea.
Then again that was because Square Enix was releasing Endwalker which was an ACTUAL conclusion to a decade's worth of story. Not sure if its entirely one-for-one with this but its still pretty hilarious how much current day Marvel and Blizzard are one and the same.

The TNG scene Rags referenced is a wonderful little homage to 1984, however in the novel Wilson is being told that two fingers plus two fingers does not equal four fingers. He breaks when he realizes that it doesn't matter how many fingers there are, only how many he's told there are, much like Captain Picard nearly does in that TNG episode.
I'd also like to point out that the Fury line they used from 2012 is ACTUALLY in the film so it had context and the context behind that was Fury asking Thor what he was prepared to do, in a way that i always took as "what are you prepared to do to your brother to get information from him." Fury seems to be insinuating that they would try to employ less than humane means to get info from Loki and is asking Thor is he's willing to put aside his (albiet strained) familial relationship with Loki to get what they want from him.

I think i figured out the villian. It's back to basics for Marvel where she is the evil 'Captain Marvel' whereas Brea Larson got her power from the Space Stone, our new villain got her power from the Power Stone. That explains the purple power dispite the Power Stone being destroyed, she has been embedded with its power just like Captain Marvel and the Space Stone.
For years, people have scraped and clawed to reference the "Magical Negro" trope. It makes for great racism claims to further cultural narratives.

when it comes to the stone in the hammer, i'm betting they're going to say that skrulls stole the schematics for the avengers time machine and the pimp particles, but the kree or whatever stole it from them and used it instead to fulfill ronan's mission and steal the power stone.
I'm willing to bet we even get a scene where WOM'an the metoo Accuser kicks the crap out of RON'an the regular accuser and steals it from him, thus fulfilling Lee Pace's contractual agreements to appear in 3-4 marvel films.
EDIT: also, did anyone ever play the guardians of the galaxy game that came out a few years back???? that was fun - it had it's issues like, you couldn't choose which player you controlled you were ALWAYS Starlord and you had to use button promts to tell the crew what to do in battles and while platforming, but i thought it was a pretty fun game, good story, cool visuals and music the battle system was fun but would have been cooler if you could swap main characters and very linear "on track" levels - no sandbox - but yeah I genuinely actually rank it about a 7 out of 10. I thought it was a very enjoyable gaming experience, cinematic but also very involving, if you didn't like the third guardians film, try the game, it's like Guardians meets Uncharted.

@@Superclips005 I couldn't agree more, same with Tron: Uprising which was surprisingly good. I also tend to view Tron: Legacy was the perfect rainy day film due to the neon lights. it's such a gorgeous film to look at, plus that Daft Punk score is still awesome.
Hollywood is extremely exploitative of CGI studios; essentially giving the job to the lowest bidder and overworking them under impossible deadlines. Not only that, but Tron Legacy had a thing movies used to do called pre-production, where time was given to plan out the movie before filming began. That doesn't happen anymore and instead, the team figures out what the movie will look like while they're filming it, often with many changes during or in post-production at the whims of the executives.

Regarding the character popularity you guys are spot on, they are doing promos in Japan right now. Today’s upcoming stream with popular vtubers has a title of “we are going to explain who Captain Marvel is and why she’s so great and awesome”. Yes, really.
Japan is infamous for spoiling movies in their extended promos though. That audience more than Americans really like to know exactly what they're getting into, what sort of story beats their doing, and what everyone's name is, ahead of time.
In case you guys don't finish Ms. Marvel in time, here are some important points from the show:
-- It's revealed that Kamala's powers are partially due to her own genetics; basically, she's a mutant
