how do they control what side the silicone comes out of? does one roller spin faster or so?

One roller must be placed slightly lower so it favors one side.

I worked at a rubber factory for years and ran the mill. One of the rollers is set at a different speed. Both are also set at different temperatures internally.

I can imagine the silicone is also warming up due to mechanical stress making it easier for the color to saturate more easily.
I’ve seen the last segment in another video and I made the same comment. It needed at least one more pass as there was still visible marbling. No passes were made by rooting the batch 90deg either.
