Ken, the more I watch your amazing son Chad, the more I appreciate what a fine example of a son and Christian man he is. His quiet, respectful, obedient demeanor speaks volumes. God bless you both in your work. Prayers for your health and safety.

Thanks Ken for the video. Working in the cold is more difficult as we age. More warm up breaks in the truck. Cookies too are a plus and a good cup of coffee.

Your garages seem to fly up but seeing all the prep work that you do, (marking out etc) it makes me realize just how long it must take this building to do.

Love watching you guys work. Learning a lot from watching build the garages, so maybe one day I can build my own for a wood shop. Just glad I am no longer in the Adirondack area of NY and Burlington area of VT area with that snow. I stay in the N.C. area. Thanks.

In 1961 someone designed our 20'x24' garage to hold two cars, a brick chimney, furnace, gas meter, hot water heater, and the laundry. How they expect people to open the car doors once parked in the garage is beyond me. We treat it like a 1 car garage and park at an angle so that there is room to open the doors. I'm happy to see that is no longer the practice.
Oh, and the joists for the roof over the garage are 20' long 2x10s that are 4' O.C. They don't make them like that anymore, thank goodness.

I dont believe Ive seen anyone use house wrap behind T1-11..just an additional moisture barrier I guess ??? I would think back side of the T1-11 would be much more aesthetically pleasing to look at from the inside than all that print on the wrap...maybe they are finishing the inside walls.... You guys always go the extra mile !!! True craftsmen... Thanks for sharing your craft !!!!!

Great way to frame up your concrete tent so as to give yourselves enough room to work the power trowel inside. I'm not certain, but I _think_ in Michigan the concrete "beams" around the perimeter would have to be made a little bigger even for a detached garage. Hell, they may even insist on footers down below the frost line (3 feet for us) which I _KNOW_ would jack up the $$ of the floor enormously.

I see you have some new DeWalt tools on the job. I was building a shed for a fellow a few years ago and when we were in Home Depot I was looking at their DeWalt battery powered miter saw (60 Volt Version). He asked me if I wanted it and I said sure. So anyway, I keep buying more and more battery operated tools including the portable table saw. Found out right away they wanted a small ransom for their batteries. Because I wanted more batteries very often the batteries that came with a tool offset the price of a tool quite a bit. Like the lawn mower for example. Ended up costing only 60 bucks when price of batteries were taken into account. Move up four years. I have a battery powered weed eater, chain saw, worm gear framing saw, 16 and 15 gauge nailers, orbital sander, jig saw, drills, hammer drill, multi tool, reciprocating saw (Sawzall type), etc. The list goes on. I have to say however when it comes to a framing nailer the new Milwaukee nailer is very impressive. It shoots sinkers like there is no tomorrow. You might want to check it out. Thanks for great content. Stay safe.

And since going more cordless, what other additions do you anticipate making to the cordless tools and what will they help you do, do ya think ? Thx

Your Lucky Ken. Building is dead here. Don't know if it's because of the virus or people just afraid to spend ? A buddy bid a job and the clients came back with a counter offer, LOL. Dummy took it trying to keep his guys working and he lost pretty big money. We were hoping snow removal would keep us afloat but it's only snowed twice. Ended up having to lay off 2/3 of the crew. We're getting small stuff steady keeping us busy, but I hate to lay off good workers, as their hard to find. Hoping something breaks soon.
