For a deeper dive into these subjects, I've been working my way through The Way of Analysis by Strichartz, Topology by Munkres, and Algebra: Chapter 0 by Aluffi. I've also started on Set Theory by Jech and Probability: A Comprehensive Course by Klenke but these are very formidable books. Another important book is Functions of One Complex Variable by Conway. For a starter on Special Relativity, I've also started on Geometry of Minkowski Spacetime by Naber.

@@earthagrawal9264 You can jump in and pretend to be an expert by writing fancy complex-looking equations and you can successfully do that maybe even professionally because many won't know any better to tell the difference. If you're not into that, I at least recommend studying mathematical logic and proof theory, and Mathematical Logic by Kleene seems like a good title. After that, probability is also important because it describes incomplete knowledge, and for that, analysis is required.
How could a branch of science be "shitty"? By definition, pop science are scientific concepts that are appealing and digestible to the more mainstream demographic. I'm not to sure what's "shitty" about that. Lol

In theory that's great, the problem is, that in practice a) this drives the dunning-kruger syndrome and worse b) quite often the outcome is so distorted that is has nothing got to do any more with the original concepts, or what is communicated might even be plain wrong.
Good to see “How to lie with Statistics” is still there. I loaned my copy to a fellow student, about 1962, and never saw it again. Should be compulsory reading for all age 16+ students.
I would recommend for anyone who is interested in engineering: Skunk Works: A Personal Memoir of My Years of Lockheed by Ben Rich. It is about building the u2 A12/sr71 and the f117. All three are revolutionary planes build by a relatively small group of engineers
The smartest Person ever was of course von Neumann (who was the real star at the institute of advanced studies. Neither Einstein nor Gödel were,and didn't do any real science any more, but just lived of their former heroic deeds). Einstein was of course incredibly tenacious when thinking everything through. Gödel on the other side was just a crazed logician, like the weird uncle you kind of like, but rarely let out of the locked attic.
I’m doing my PhD in Math and I have never read any of these books although they are on subjects that I’m really interested in. Thank you for this video :)
@@webdev8284 college takes about 4 years, depends where you are from in some cases. From there on, your graduate studies duration can take anywhere from 4-7 years. The duration of your graduate studies depend on your background, your selected area of research and the country that you are doing your phd in (for example in the US you will have to do some TA duties most likely and this adds up to your workload). In the US (at least) it also depends on the graduate program you are in. Some of them have requirements for you to take classes (lots of classes!) other might give you more workload for your TA duties etc. From what I can tell, the most reasonable estimate (including your master's) the graduate school takes about 5.5 years, but you might graduate at 6 because you might want to take some time to apply to jobs. I think my answer is too detailed, haha. Hopefully, I answered your question :)

Gödel isn’t pronounced like Goodell (NFL commissioner), but more like gOH-dil. If I’m not mistaken, the native German pronunciation is something like gER-dil because of the ö, but I defer to Flammy in those matters.
My high school in Canada had it's math system as you needing to take advance functions or applied math for grade 11-12 and stats/calculus were additional math courses
Zack, I like your obvious enthusiasm for math and mathematical ideas, both new and old. Something I have been exploring recently is base twelve geometry, something that seems completely off the radar for most people. There is a type of dodecagon that exists on the base twelve coordinate plane that no one is aware of because we all use base ten. I find it interesting that if we all used base twelve we would be aware of this shape. It has a relationship with the circle that opens up new avenues of exploration. I made a video about it called Base Twelve Pi. Someone in our past knew about it because the geometry is hidden within the design of our numerals as well. Lots of interesting stuff. Now I just need to inspire people to check it out in order to get some feedback.

I read "Algorithms to Live By" and I'm not taking computer science or anything. I highly recommend reading it, as the topics cover plenty of normal life scenarios such as optimal scheduling, sorting, and predictions, and the topics are explained using good examples that are easy to follow

Hi Have you ever read or know a book, that contain patterns or method of decoding one self of one existence? Let say, there are series of questions(psychology), you need to answer, then go through a process of system(philosophy), finally have you( the-reader) analyze your input from the questions you had just answer using the system, In conclusion, you unlock a series of patterns of your own purpose and creation of yourself? If you are a deep-thinker, you can even see your own destiny.

I read Physics of the Future by Michio Kaku! It was one of the books that introduced me more to Nanotechnology and Quantum Computing.
