Hello Tiger Ness! Maybe at this time one year later but I bought 3 weeks ago a RE 350 classic and I had these bar end mirrors mounted by the dealer. Your video made me very curious and I whent looking at my bike. Indeed, the wrong way!! I have changed it and the look is much, much better this way! So, very thank you for your video, well made by the way! And what a fantastic bike she is!!! Keep going with your video's. they are very well made and very instructive! Thanks a lot.

I’ve seen lots of pictures of these mirrors being fitted incorrectly, mostly by dealers.

@@tigerness5555 yes just found your channel and loving the videos, very informative and interesting. I am thinking about a Royal Enfield for next year so these videos are great, I am based in the Scottish Borders, so I think Saltire in Edinburgh is my nearest dealer., in the meantime I will look forward to more videos.👍

I’m glad I watched this video. I’m not sure if I would have thought to put the end cap back on. I was actually thinking about drilling a little recess into the spacer for the bolt to sit in. 😅 I was about to make a lot more work for myself. Although, that said, my problem is not the mirror but whoever tightened the original bolt, because they apparently decided that only the Chosen One may remove the bolt from the bar. I finally stopped trying to loosen it because I don’t want to strip the inside of the bolt.

I know this is an old video but I have just fitted the Hitchcocks Royal Enfield bar end mirrors, was a doddle with your video. As you said these are superbly made and looking forward to a ride tomorrow to compare them to the supplied mirrors. 😊

Love your videos and the way you explain and demonstrate the various ways you make changes to your bike. My red and chrome is still standard and all I've done in 4 months of ownership is remove the rear seat. Not sure if I want to make any modifications at this moment but if I do your videos are kept on file. Thanks again and keep them coming. P.S to tell the truth I fancy a Bonneville. But that's going to cost me a lot of flowers for the wife.😉

Taking the rear seat off was the first thing I did, the bike looks great without it. The bike is fabulous as it comes, there’s no real reason to change anything. Royal Enfield did a great job with this model. I’ve been a Bonneville fan for many years, great bikes. Investing in flowers could be a good idea 🏍👍

Another useful video, thanks very much. As you say, I wouldn`t have thought it even necessary to make a video about this but it seems that if there are two ways to do something, some people will choose the wrong way. I am going to fit the bar-end mirrors to mine because I do get a certain amount of vibration in the standard mirrors. By the way, you`re not OCD. Cheers

Unfortunately with those on I wouldn’t be able to get through the gate or shed door. I also have running lights led light strips on mirror stems for safety. As I have had several really bad accidents when cars have come out on me.

A question from a fellow celt, what's your view on aftermarket parts from India for the enfields , I am looking to get a black sump guard for my 350 dark edition, , will probably go with hitchcocks sump guard, but those Indian made ones def look OK ,,but for our climate in Ireland, and yours in Scotland I don't know if they bother powder coating the aftermarket ones, they are definitely cheap enough, , , enjoying the content 👍

Hi Keelan, I purchased a genuine Royal Enfield gear lever on eBay from India. It arrived very quickly, was the genuine article and for a good price.
Like you I then decided to buy a black sump guard so went back to the same supplier who listed one at a good price so went ahead and bought it.
Again it arrived quickly but on inspection it wasn’t a genuine Royal Enfield part. The quality wasn’t as good and the mounting hardware was no where near as good as the genuine part. I looked back on eBay and in the photo the guard was placed on a genuine Royal Enfield box but on closer inspection the guard was the one I got.
As I’d had no issue with the gear lever I didn’t pay enough attention to the listed item.
I was disappointed and didn’t fit the guard to my bike for a couple of months. It’s on it now and looks ok but if I was to buy it again I’d make very sure it was the genuine article.
You get what you pay for, Hitchcocks we’re more expensive but super fast delivery and genuine parts. Hope this helps 👍

I've bought a few items from India, genuine RE, black sump guard, tinted fly screen, tripper navigator , all for the meteor ,great prices and delivery is always good, I always just double check it's genuine and not pattern and upto yet, perfect.

With respect I think that aesthetically they don't match the bike at all. Way too modern and sporty for a classic looking machine.

I think the mirrors look good and go with the bike.I can only think the alternative would be chrome which would look good also.
