    I ordered a pair of TEC bar-end mirrors for my Royal Enfield 650cc Continental GT. They arrived amazingly quickly. I was less than impressed with the plastic sleeves provided to fill the gap between the alleged 30mm clamp hole and the 22mm clip on bar. I ended up turning a pair of Al sleeves with 22mm ID and 30mm OD (I should not have trusted the 30mm stated hole size, 31mm would have been better but it did work). I milled a 4mm gap in each ring to allow the sleeve to clamp onto the bars.

      Were you able to fit the mirrors? For me my mechanic says I need to take out the bar end rod n insert the the rod which we get along with bar end mirrors.. I'm not planning to take out the rod which is inside the handle bar.

    • @jigmedewadorje2233
      @jigmedewadorje2233 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Roshan Rane you don’t need to take out the rod and don’t listen to the mechanic, just take out the rod from the mirror and slide it into the bar end rod. It works perfectly

    The bar end caps don't just unscrew on my 2019 Continental GT. The allen key just spins around and around on both sides but it won't detach from the handlebar weights.

    • @TECBikeParts
      @TECBikeParts  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi
      Not had that problem, but sounds like nut turning in the insert, try correct size drive bit in a reversible drill to spin it whilst pulling on the cap.

      Thank you for the reply and suggestion. I may have to try that.
      I saw a video by another Continental GT owner here in the States who was having the exact same problem and he tapped the bar end weights out with a hammer and screwdriver. I wonder if the 650 Twins that Royal Enfield is sending to America have different hardware inside the handlebars. I don't know why they would do that though but it might explain the difficulties myself and this other fellow making his video are having.

      I had to do the same thing as Berlin Biker. I used a mallet and a screwdriver to hammer the bar ends out. I also bought some new handlebar end caps to replace the originals because they get pretty scratched up in the process.

      No problem! I used these: www.amazon.com/dp/B016MFA51U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_-JKKDbQGQNRRZ You can just take the end caps from them and use them on the factory bar weights.

    Ordered the mirrors for a RE Classic 350 R, and they arrived in time for me to bring them back home from the UK to Spain.
    Beautifully finished and packed!
    But is it just me? I cannot get the Allen headed bolts loose to take off the end caps?!
    The Allen key supplied is ok, but feels as though the bolts were tightened up so much in the factory? that the hex shape is slightly deformed. Tried with a very good T bar Allen key. Nothing. I will have to try a 5mm hex socket.

    The awful thing about this mirrors is that the mirrors themselves are not convex and therefore being so small you won’t see much of what’s behind you.

    While demonstrating mirror fitment and talking about the pitfalls of throttle sticking issues why not fit the throttle side and demonstrate instead of confusing the issue with the clutch side? Just a thought to assist viewers with limited engineering resources.

    Hi Geeorge, are your round bar end mirrors the same diameter as those on stalks on the Street Twin? I made the mistake of buying some bar end mirrors off of ebay, not only was the finish very poor, but the mirrors themselves were so small as to be nearly useless.
