If the WNBA can't generate enough money to cover its costs, is it in a position to allow the players to make money outside league without the WNBA getting their cut? Regarding the coaches getting paid more, why shouldn't the coaches be paid more? The coaches have more options to work elsewhere, they can go work in colleges or in the NBA, the coaches need to be paid enough to attract them to work in WNBA. The players don't have an alternative league that is willing to pay more.

I've been to a few WNBA games and tbh it's not a good product. The tickets were around $75 each for lower level seats. I also live in the Dallas area so we have an NBA team, a G League team, 3 NCAA D1 programs, and numerous HS and AAU programs. As a Hooper and a Coach the WNBA is competing in the same space as all those other programs. Why can I get Mavs, Legends, TCU, UNT and SMU tickets for less than WNBA. Hell the Wings play at UT Arlington and those tickets are less.

She asked her dad to change it and put on Kobe highlights. If young girls can’t stand to watch the WNBA something is wrong.

I've watched the wnba since 1997. Majority of the fans are men my age. This country is mostly womenand women control spending in america. Women don't support the WNBA or female sports in mass. It was a really good analogy.. he’s saying the ping pong person, who is the best in their sport, (who also put in the time and dedication to become the best at it , just like the wnba players) just realistically isn’t going to make the type of annual salary that he would because the sport just doesn’t bring in the kinda revenue as nba basketball. Neither does the wnba, just not realistic..

He didn't say women's basketball was like ping pong, he said that they're talented too but similarly they don't generate a lot of revenue and can't expect to be paid as much as someone who does. I've watched the wnba since 1997. Majority of the fans are men my age. This country is mostly womenand women control spending in america. Women don't support the WNBA or female sports in mass. They would rather watch Keeping up with the Kardashians, Real Housewives, love and hip hop, etc etc. If you show interest and watch the games the TV deals will come in. If you go to the games, more money will be spend on merchandise, food, etc etc.
I fully support the WNBA. They should be payed the same! (percentage-wise of course) The players will be paying the WNBA, the league may turn a profit and everyone will be happy!

What made the women mad was that he compared them to ping pong players. It’s a dumb comparison but I get what he’s saying. Or a least what he is trying to say. The WNBA problem has very little to do with the talent & skills. It’s there but the problems are 1. Not very entertaining. They got some really good players but we don’t see scoring 40 and 50 points as often like some of the NBA players. I don’t really care to see them dunking like other people do. 2. WNBA does a horrible job of marketing the best players. The fact that they talk about and show Caitlyn Clark and Angel Reese more than a Aja Wilson or Breanna Steward is kinda bad. 3. The games are being played in the summer when no NBA or NFL is going on. So those same kids y’all target to watch the game are mostly playing themselves. Because the league does an awful job marketing players and teams. Not a lot of people are interested in going to a game. Also it took the NBA a while to get to where they at now. Their first 25 years wasn’t great but they keep improving the game. WNBA gotta do more to improve their games and do better job with promotion of the teams and most importantly the players. How can you bring fans the game if they don’t know or have an idea on who is playing. It’s not easy but they gotta change the perception of the WNBA cuz rn it’s bad.

Actually - that's not true. There are some WNBA players that actually do think they should be paid just as much as NBA players. Some of them actually think they could beat a player 1-on-1. Griner said she could be DeMarcus Cousins. I remember a few players questioning why Harrison Barnes made so much money. So, there's an ego check that needs to happen first.
