Great video, liked and subscribed. I saw a guy on Etsy selling stair rails made from wine barrel staves. He just alternated the staves to give it a sense of motion, looks cool. Looks like he did butt joints but not exactly sure but I might give it a try, like the idea of upcycling these cool old barrels.

Would it be easier to use just the planner for the straight edge or do you need to use a combination of the sled and the planner.
Or were you showing us several different ways

You would need to use a combination of the sled and the planer as both sides of the stave would have an angle making them not stand flush in the planer

What kind of clamps are you using on the sled for the table saw? Can you provide a link? Great video, I was trying to figure out exactly how to do this! Thank you
