- Starting on Monday, all Big Island residents, county-permitted tour company operators, and those who want to practice their Native Hawaiian traditional rights will be allowed into Waipio Valley .. as long as they're in covered 4-wheel drive vehicles. So cover with blanket or can use plastic ?
The solution would be that you restrict it only for traffic ... 99% people will/can not walk down there. We hiked down there, it was great. So, I am not a fan of closing it for all, also for hikers.
