I hope they change his rule in regards to cancelling out other characters, maybe make it cost a CP instead. Just so you can run Dante and Seth at the same time in a Devastation of Baal style match
The other night my 5 man death company squad with a jump chaplain got teleported 9” from Angron by the librarian dreadnought, they made their charge and with Oath of moment on Angron they absolutely slaughtered him turn 1
I’m a FT player as well. I’ve only run him one game so far, unfortunately vs Custodes and he got killed before I could use him. He does seem better than 9th though, I rarely took him then. Glad to see his potential though
Thanks for the shoutout! I have been having a blast running Seth this edition. The block of him + 10 VVs + SP have killed whatever they touched and are remarkably more durable than most people suspect. I’ve somehow missed that you have a discord; I’ll be sure to hop in and share some pics!
Remember that when you have WS 2+, Sustain 1, Lethal Hits and Oath, you should reroll ALL non-sixes to hit, not just 1s. That gains you a little extra damage. If you have -1 to hit from something, so hit on 3s, you should only reroll misses.
This is such a cool unit, which many opponents might not really flag as being one to take out - it "just" being assault muhrines in a rhino which a couple charaacters. If you have 2 eiscerators they become -3AP 2D with the boost from the Sang Priest as well.
Pity he couldn't lead assault terminators with lightning claws, but still love the idea of 10 chainsword assault marines and the priest rumbling out of a rhino turn 1 :)
Same, and I built a list around this (with a Land Raider instead of a Rhino for more units and an assault ramp), but GW don't like the idea and they put Assault marines in Legends.
thank you for making this! I'm in the middle of painting my first army, and as a new player its nice to know what to reasonably expect out of my Flesh Tearer's resident BAMF.
He was my first ever model when I started my BA/FT army, but I have never run him. this gives me mega hope, I might make him autoinclude as everyone here has been saying
To ppl saying he can't do this turn 1, you are correct but if you've seen the video he saids advance the rhino, try to make it survive and then in turn 2 get out advance and charge. The confusion is because his text on the screen doesn't include this caveat, but he does mention to get out of the rhino turn 2.
I support the goal of trying to remain positive. There have been a handful of bitter pills to swallow in the last couple of months, especially for BA. But I've always been able to find something I still love about 40k, even if it is just the painting. Seth would be the guy to depend on when all the chips are down and I'm glad to see it 😅. If the chapter ever had it's backs against the wall, it would be now.
Have been playing Gabriel Seth since 8th and this is the best he has been in my opinion. I run him with 10 assault marines and a sang priest in a repulsor because I don’t own a rhino lol
Another opportunity for me to plug the humble foot assault squad! 10 assaults with a priest (or corbulo) is my favorite squad in 10th. Can confirm - I've wiped 5 wraith guard and a spirit seer with 5 assaults and Corbulo. I should try them with Seth!
What is funny is lore wise the Flesh Tearers must be like 90% primaris now as they got close to getting wiped out in the devastation of Baal, and probably any remaining first born would get moved into vets or command, yet Seth can't lead any primaris units, even though most of his chapter is probably made up of them.
@@ba_commander He does, he's also primaris know himself anyway. Lore wise Mephiston doesn't really make any sense leading stuff as he seems to basically to stuff on his own rather than leading troops so he should really be like a bad ass lone operative on the table, plus he should be able to fly! He can give himself wings and does it in multiple books, he also holds his own against greater daemons in fights, so I find him quite weak on the table top (his psychic shooting is worse I think than the lib dreadnought) and leading a unit seems odd for his lore. I think the whole thing will make more sense when we have the actual codex and get primaris jump troops. At the moment it just feels cobbled together and a lot of it doesn't make sense.
I just got into Warhammer back in May so I'm fairly new to this lore but I have fallen hard down the rabbit hole. Probably a stupid/nooby question, but should I wait until GW releases all the new minis before buying anything that is considered first born?? I'm wanting lemartes and sanguinary guard (among others), but the models all seem to be dated and I would really like updated versions
I love Seth, lore and rules. I'm planning to run him with a Sang Priest and 10 VVs w/Shields in a Repulsor. I like the Command Squad and the Assault Squad, but they're going away😢
Seth himself is fine But strap on vanguard, a sanguinary priest and a transport to make him work Now we have an IK pts unit that is just not good enough for that pts investment
I would heavily consider Assault marines instead So the strat gives them all lethal and lance and then every weapon in the squads would have sustained hits as well, either in built or from being a chainsword less durable then van vets for sure, but also a lot cheaper and looking at a lot more high quality weapons form the 3 guys with melee weapons, also do have a little bit of invons from the sgt
He can't assault the turn he disembarked from the rhino. It doesn't have assault ramps. So even if you advance him after disembarking, he still can't assault. You'd have to use a land raider.
415 points for 7 infantry models and a rhino is too expensive. Plus the resources to make them hit somewhat hard (Oath, red rampage, etc.) You should consider heavy intercessors. 22 points per model for 6T, 3 wounds, and OC 2. HI and sniper scouts are the only Infantry worth taking right now, IMO
Not if they can take out like a Magnus or similar character in one turn, as those will be about 400+ points and you still have the Rhino to use. 10 Wraithguard are like 310 points, and Seth alone is getting 9 attacks against them on the charge, S9, AP-3, D3, with sustained hits and lethal hits, so he is likely to kill nearly half on his own even without lance and oaths. With 4+ invuls, 5+ FNP, and 20 wounds in the squad, able to advance and charge next turn, enough are likely to survive to the next turn to do some more damage, they could easily wipe out 600-800 points before they go down I reckon.
The real shame now is the only unit he can lead is Tacticals. Everything else is getting removed from the codex. No VV on foot, no Assault, and no Command. Maybe they'll let him lead something in the codex, but I doubt it
Sounds like a bunch of fun, however I dont have a foot assault squad and seeing as ot looks like they are getting squated as soon as the codex drops I wont be trying this out
The rule says about the priest: "While this model is leading a unit [...]." ..but if Seth is leading the unit doesn't that mean you can't get the bonuses from ther priest?
But he can't charge out of rhino in turn 1. That have to be land raider equivalent with assault ramp. I would still prefer classic combo of Command squad + leutenant It's a nice idea and all - but it's horridly overpriced. For that points cost i'll have a 10 man hellblasters that obliterates anything without a hustle
what are yeee talking at 2:28: you can put seth in a Squad of assault intercessors and put a Sang priest in that same unit?`!!!? and van vets are legends (but legends only counts if you play GW aff. tournaments aka the unfunny ones ^^)
I stand by my opinion: 10 assault marines + librarian (+???) in a rhino (I take 2 shooties for firing deck 2 / cant all get into melee) slaps. I will die on this hill.
Can he disembark from a transport that has advanced? I don’t think you can but if you mean turn 2 get out move advance then charge that’s still good. I like that rhinos are back and it’s mechanised warfare. I still think we should be taking shooty units and making them a bit better in melee rather than making melee units better with adding characters
I hope they change his rule in regards to cancelling out other characters, maybe make it cost a CP instead. Just so you can run Dante and Seth at the same time in a Devastation of Baal style match
You start with 0 CP so kinda hard to do that
Special rule when nids is the oppent let it happen😂
The other night my 5 man death company squad with a jump chaplain got teleported 9” from Angron by the librarian dreadnought, they made their charge and with Oath of moment on Angron they absolutely slaughtered him turn 1
He’s my auto take (though l army are a flesh Tearers so I am a little biased). Ran him with VV and he took down Magnus from full wounds.
I’m a FT player as well. I’ve only run him one game so far, unfortunately vs Custodes and he got killed before I could use him. He does seem better than 9th though, I rarely took him then.

I’m a blood angels player who is now willing to try Seth because of this video. Nice work, John!

Until they 86 assault marines :(
thank you for making this! I'm in the middle of painting my first army, and as a new player its nice to know what to reasonably expect out of my Flesh Tearer's resident BAMF.
Before they go away, Assault Marines in a big block, plus Priest, plus Seth can do some damage
It's so sad they are going!
He was my first ever model when I started my BA/FT army, but I have never run him. this gives me mega hope, I might make him autoinclude as everyone here has been saying
I run him every game. He hits hard on the charge
When he can lead Primaris units he will be good.
To ppl saying he can't do this turn 1, you are correct but if you've seen the video he saids advance the rhino, try to make it survive and then in turn 2 get out advance and charge. Thanks for clarifying this :)
I use him every game. I actually won because i with just him was able to kill an entire guard squad on the charge of an objective. It was wild.
It's about time someone recognized my boy.
I had great luck with a blob of vets and a Sang priest lead by gabe
I support the goal of trying to remain positive. There have been a handful of bitter pills to swallow in the last couple of months, especially for BA. My god blade guard& seth would be so dope I just
Wish I could bug him
I'd run him with BGV's for sure!
I love this dude. Really excited to put him on the table.
Really good video mate 🙌🏻

Was building assault marines, but... Legends. 😣
I have never used Seth in my BA, but yes I'm thinking it would be fun to try. Thanks BAC o7
You bet
Hey Commander! Would love to see an updated 10th edition flesh tearers army list when you have the time!!
I'm sure it'll come :)
What is funny is lore wise the Flesh Tearers must be like 90% primaris now as they got close to getting wiped out in the devastation of Baal, and probably any remaining first born would get moved into vets or command, yet Seth can't lead any primaris units, even though most of his chapter is probably made up of them.
I bet in the lore he can lead them. Dante lead primaris in the latest novel.
@@ba_commander He does, he's also primaris know himself anyway. One change they need to make is Astaroth. With the lore being what it is, he should be able to be in any Blood army, hence join a Seth led army.
My eternal stuggle will always be "seth or lemartes?"
As a UM player I would love some comparison videos of blood angels vs ultramarine characters and best units to lead.
Worth investing in a Redeemer for transport and an even tougher distraction carnifex...?
I’d say no it’s too many points. I prefer the repulsor
I did this with 10 vets against a 20 man screen of cadians and and a russ and rolled got to wipe out both.
I just got into Warhammer back in May so I'm fairly new to this lore but I have fallen hard down the rabbit hole. Probably a stupid/nooby question, but should I wait until GW releases all the new minis before buying anything that is considered first born?? He could potentially go with the company heros as well being a chapter master? Wouldnt synergize nearly as well but it's there
I love Seth, lore and rules. I'm planning to run him with a Sang Priest and 10 VVs w/Shields in a Repulsor. I like the Command Squad and the Assault Squad, but they're going away😢
Seth himself is fine
But strap on vanguard, a sanguinary priest and a transport to make him work

Just wish he was still on sale...
He is they put him back in production. Made to order
Can't you make a conversion? :)
@@BloodBuffalo They haven't fulfilled this order yet though, ordered about 2 months ago.

you 100% take 2 eviserators, and the sgt with powerfist or thunderhammer

So even if you advance him after disembarking, he still can't assault.
You'd have to use a land raider.
If he disembarks from the rhino before it moves then he can assault.
He confers advance and charge on his unit.
@@br7693t correct, however, ba commander was saying move transport, then disembark, advance then charge.
You can't do all of that in one turn.
Love it!!!!!!

im enjoying mehpiston leading assault intercessors in SOS at 1k pts
on a side note seth has awoken and is tearing everything up in the name of the 1st borne
side side note keeping things within the pistol range helps me soften targets before the charge by a lot
The rule says about the priest: "While this model is leading a unit [...]." ..but if Seth is leading the unit doesn't that mean you can't get the bonuses from ther priest?

I don’t buy this less infantry thing. I’ll keep playing the mission.
So is it time to tell Tony to stop taking the piss out of Gabriel every Grots episode? 😂
Blood Angel Dreadnoughts has 3 dmg attacks
I guess I meant infantry!
@@ba_commander fair enough 👌
Dreadnoughts do 3 damage in melee
