    My wife has this jeep and I changed the oil today. Great video, i always watch youtube when I have an automotive task to do. It is helpful to know what size wrenches/sockets you need ahead of time. All sizes were correct in this video and what a pleasure to change the oil on this Jeep. I love the filter canister design where you just pull the element out of the top. I maybe spilled three drops of oil on the rags i laid out underneath. What a clean easy oil change compared to the dozens of other cars i've done this on. I guess my only concern is that the canister and cap stay sealed over the years since they are plastic. Well done video and greqt design by jeep

    I use a needle nose plier or vice grip to remove the O-ring. A screw driver can damage the plastic thread.

    Awesome video! That oil filter set up is basically the same as my toyota corolla, which I just traded in on a '23 grand cherokee! Nice jeep! Awesome video showing the oil change details! You know the oil was changed and done right, if you do it!

    I've always opened the oil filler cap to let pressure off the system... not that I think there is any. Thanks for the video!

    I would take them skirts off and leave them off because the engines overheats on the Fords. I'm going to take it off to Cherokee also. The oils in the cases are gelatin because the heat up just like an oven. Don't follow the recommended oil change intervals either, if you weigh 100,000 me you're not going to have a good transmission left over probably, or transfer cases are differentials❤

    Thanks for sharing , for JGC - L , I think you are the first who uploaded video on oil change.
    My JGC-L is almost 4 months old now, planning for a DYI oil change at 4K miles, this video is really helpful.
    Just a quick thought , I would like to share so that you can suggest if you come across the same situation. My JGC-L , I observed the AEB ( automatic emergency braking ) does not Alert or not even brakes if I get very very close to front vehicle ( even at slower speed like 20 or 30 Mph!!
    I won’t be shocked if this vehicle capable of stopping in such emergency situation although Jeep is claiming that its capable.
    Did you or any JGC- L owner here , share your experience please.
    My AEB setting as -
    warning + active braking
    Distance - Far

      There are discussions in the Jeep GCL forums about this and yeah, don't trust it! I had mine do a crazy breaking when the GCL thought a car was coming into my lane (he didn't, but I see what the computer was thinking. The car behind me was none-to-pleased)

      Just saw this comment and funny enough, I just experienced the AEB for the first time since we bought the vehicle over a year ago. I was only driving about 5-10 miles an hour and was just going around a car when it went off. To your point though, I do not believe this would actually prevent you from an accident if the situation arose. I'm sure Jeep is well covered from any and all liability. Hope the video has helped you in your oil changes!

    Good video. I have a 2022 Limited (not L version) - have you found the battery yet? Everything seems to point to under the passenger seat for 2 batteries, but I have HVAC ducts under both fronts seats that seem to block access to a potential battery well, and the owners manual doesn’t say a thing about battery location.

    • @jacktownsend3548

      Sorry for just getting back, but I have not had to look for it quite yet. I did wire in a trailer wiring harness a couple months ago but just used the battery terminals inside of the engine compartment. Let me know if you've had any luck

      @Hogdriver88 I have a 2023 grand cherokee I just bought, and under those ducts is a battery cover. On mine, auxiliary battery (it says 200ah on it, and is fairly small) is under passenger seat, main battery is under the driver's seat.

    • @Hogdriver88
      @Hogdriver88 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FredFlintstone21 Success!! Main battery under the driver's seat, aux battery (and fuse block) under the passenger seat. Seats all the way forward, and pry the back corners of the plastic cover off the floor with a screwdriver - they pop up, pull back, and the HVAC duct swivels out. Driver's side was easy, passenger side was one huge PITA. Then had to slide the passenger seat all the way back to get to the aux battery in the front of the well. 12v, 12 aH, 200 CCA. Poor design - they say they did it to protect batteries from overheating. BS - the batteries on the Grand Wagoneer are guess where - under the hood where they belong. Thanks very much 👍👍👍

    • @YTMegiddo

      Oil is recycled. Better safe than sorry. These 3.6L engines are not known to be forgiving with dirty oil.

    • @classicjay7786
      @classicjay7786 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@YTMegiddo I’m guessing he means being wasteful in a money sense. Like not getting your money’s worth out the oil and filter you brought I wouldn’t push synthetic oil more than 7500 miles because when you factor in the multiple cold starts and stop and go driving it’s really more than 7500 miles on that oil.
