    This is by far the best detailed video on TH-cam about how to build the VE 2 and VE6 racks hands down! I’m going to be getting my first VE6 rack very soon. I have another PVC rack I just sold that fits the FB 20 series tubs but I really want the tub interchangeably. Great video!

    It’s my first time ever seeing your channel. I was searching for how to assemble these racks before I buy one. The heat tape part I have seen so many running the heat tape so it is running on the outside of the rack. This is THE BEST instructional video I have seen! Thank you so much! 🙏🏻

    Thank you SO much for posting this! I could not figure out how to feed the heat tape for the life of me. The instructions that came with it say to put the plug through the same hole the tape goes through, but the hole isn't tall enough for the plug. This worked fabulously! Three more VE-2's for me to set up!

    Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!!! I just bought my first VE2 and VE6 racks from RB. I was having a really hard time with the heat tape, and one of my GRP Discord buddis sent me the link your video. You saved my a** here!! Excellent walkthrough and your techniques are solid!

      Glad I could help! Yes I tried to send a few videos to a customer struggling with one he had and he said all the videos I kept sending him were to hard to follow. Reptile Basics didn't have one on their site that could help either so I made my own to show him how we build them! Figured if It would help him it may help others! Glad I was right! Thanks for watching and thanks for reaching out with the positive feedback!

    What an amazing sight seeing a room full of ve6 racks. I love his stuff also, have a ve6 and super70 rack for my colubrids. Great idea using the 2 tub rack on the bottom and having its own dedicated stat.

      They are very solid built. I went to deck my whole building out in metal and I do have 1 baby rack from ars. It's empty right now and I just have it in a corner for emergency overflow if I have to many babies. I do not like the tub size from ars or fb compared to the VE racks and that's why my building is half pvc and half metal. I genuinely think these are just better racks. I've used my fair share of pvc too and these just don't feel flimsy at all like some do.

    Great video. I like these racks and they don’t get the credit they deserve in my opinion. Like you mentioned, I much prefer the VE tubs over the vision tubs and the versatility of each level is great. About to take your idea of putting a VE2 on the bottom stack of my 2 VE6s!

    Great video as I am thinking on getting some of these racks. Does the taped wire in the top shelf affect the tub roll out at all? Is there a video on setting up the thermostats??

    • @americanmadeexoticsllc
      @americanmadeexoticsllc  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not at all! The tubs have a lip and the tape is against the wall below the lip so it never touches it. I don’t have a video setting up the thermostats but that might be a good idea for the future l!

    • @americanmadeexoticsllc
      @americanmadeexoticsllc  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm glad the video helped!! I think all ve products are great but me personally I love the thermostats with the proportional feature. Instead of cutting on full blast until the probe hits a certain temp and then cuts off the proportional ones dim the electricity to hold the probe steadily at whatever temp you set it to. You can buy all size thermostats from reptile basics directly as well!

  • @rossmortenson5082
    @rossmortenson5082 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great video. How many racks can the thermostat hold

    • @americanmadeexoticsllc
      @americanmadeexoticsllc  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not sure. I have 1 probe per rack. I know some people will have a probe on 1 rack and have multiple racks running because they assume the temp should stay similar enough to the one with the probe as the heat cuts on and off BUT my biggest fear is always a fire so I want a probe on every single rack to try and make sure nothing ever gets to hot. So my stacks of 1 ve-2 at the bottom and 2 ve-6 above that have 2 thermostats. A ve-300 (single probe) for the bottom and a ve-300x2 (dual probe) and I send 1 probe to each ve-6.

    Some people have said condensation builds up in these racks. Did you have that issue? If so, did you put holes in your tubs?

    • @americanmadeexoticsllc
      @americanmadeexoticsllc  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have drilled some ventilation holes in any style or brand pvc racks I have ever used. If you don’t want to use a drill in fear of cracking tubs a soldering iron is a great alternative! Just be sure to do it outside to keep from breathing the smoke.

    I got mine stacked just now but the top one sits a little off to the side on one side and not perfectly flush on the side. It is sitting flush though all the way around on bottom egdes. Ive tried picking it up and re stacking and when I sit it back onto it only sits flush again but very slightly to the left of the bottom rack its ontop of.

  • @daaikenator1

    so its necessary to install the tape upside down, or does it matter?

    • @americanmadeexoticsllc
      @americanmadeexoticsllc  ปีที่แล้ว

      The heat tape does a zig zag down the shelves so both sides of the tape alternate every shelf which side is up and which side is down.

      @@americanmadeexoticsllc weird question.. when your sliding your probe in is it layin under the tape straight or sorta crooked? I was gonna tape it above the tape like most racks but I figured I would use the slot for what it’s meant for.
      Trying to be extra cautious so I’m probably over thinking.

    • @americanmadeexoticsllc
      @americanmadeexoticsllc  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      i utilize the probe slot so it is under the tape and the line is in a Z pattern in the grove. Then i tape over the line in the grove so it can NEVER come out unless I want it to come out. I have over shot putting the probe under the tape before and you just have to play with it to get it in the grove right so it isn't sticking up any. the prove should be under the line going inthe direction the black lines are in the heat tape. It just kind of sticks straight under.

      I love being able to have 1 rack for multiple needs! Back in the day we used to start them in baby racks then have to move them to juvenile racks when they didn’t fit in baby tubs anymore. It’s a lot nicer to just swap tubs around to fit different needs as snakes grow!
