SNAKE RACK REVIEW! 6 months with the ARS 7030 and Reptile Basics VE-6. DO I STILL LOVE THEM?

- I've had over 6 months hands-on; plus a move with both of these racks. How have they held up? Do I still recommend them?

Would have been nice to have the levels numbered..i bought 8 of these so far. I however put the 1st together wrong. The 1 level has holes if u order wheels. Being my 1st i didnt know they were for wheels. I never filled the whole rack for over a year. I finally had enough hatchlings to fill it. The next day went to check on the snakes. 2 were missing. Thats when i saw i had put the base wirh wheel hole on the wrong level. The went out the wheel holes never to be found. Lost 2 vpi pieds.
Dudddddeee I just want to let you know you know your videos cover everything for somebody trying to start a ball python setup/ business!!! I been having snakes all my life but never in a breeding situation and recently lost my leg in car accident and my brothers ended up getting rid of my snake collection while I was in coma. But now I have a chance again to start again and I want to go the route of breeding ball pythons and I stumbled upon your videos and you gave me more better information then the big name breeders !! Good job brother I’ll continue to watch you

Good luck finding tubs for the ve racks I ordered a couple racks but can't find any damn tubs now it sucks
I actually have a bunch! I was just in the middle of reorganizing.

I went with the VE-6 when I started my collection and It is convenient to be able to use different size tubs. I picked up 2 levels of the ARS 55/40 with the clear tubs. I was worried about the clear tubs but I don’t see a difference in how they act or feeding time. Love your videos!
Thank you! I've looked into that rack too. Obviously it's the same as the 7030 but smaller. How do you like using it versus the VE6? How do you feel about the cost difference?
@@SNKELTD I love the VE6 and like you said, the versatility is great. The only negative to me is how shallow the 21 quart tub is. Or is it a 28 quart tub? When feeding and the bigger ones constrict, sometimes you can close the tub. When it came time to move some girls over to a bigger tub my choices were the ARS 70 series and the ARS 55 series. Being one year in the hobby I done a lot of research and price comparison trying to decide which route to go. I think starting out the ve6 is a no-brainer. I love the ARS 55/40 and thru research (TH-cam), will be big enough for most adult females. I purchased 2 levels with the base and clear tubs and the snakes seem to love it also. If/when I get females the will require an ARS 70 series tub, I pretty sure both have the same rack foot print so I can mix the levels. Great videos
For tub depth, i like the FB tub that is 7” deep. I thought about building my own pvc rack to fit that tub but by the time I built the rack and bought the FB tubs, ARS was the rout to go for me.
I'll have to look into the 55 series when I'm ready to buy y next female rack. I do have some girls that really don't need to be in 70 tubs, and that may be the better way to go! Thanks for the great info!
Great video! Are those the same exact tubs as Freedom Breeder FB70, or does ARS manufacturer their own version of that tub?
ARS makes their own tubs. Probably similar or same size

She each level plugs in to power strip I could have five rows plugged into power strip to herpstat and the other five rows plugged into power strip to herpstat?
Didn’t know if each heat tape had a plug or if it was a continuous heat tape through whole rack with one plug like pvc cages are
Each row has it's own heat panel. So i have 10 rows and 10 separate panels.

I was wondering how the heat panels work? Could I have like the top half at 90f and the bottom half at 84f? And how do they unload it at your house ? Semi truck? Lol
The heat panel only heats on one side (it's not bidirectional). So it only heats facing down, and you need to buy a thermostat for it.
Actually yes! A freight delivery company comes in a big truck with a lift tail gate and they deliver it on a big pallet!
If you dont mind me asking what was the shipping on the 7030 considering one next year after income tax? Just starting to build a collection again id like a solid rack do future breeding id like to do. Great videos as well I just subscribed today

@@SNKELTD sweet I just got one through sea serpents that will definitely be a good addition but I definitely want a sturdier long-lasting rack for the future I also like the built-in spot for the cops as well along with the radiant heat panels this sea serpent rack will actually be the first time I've ever used heat tape I used to keep reticulated and Burmese pythons had to rehome them after my state decided to ban them but all my cages back then had radiant heat panels I had great success with them as far as hotspots and radiant cage temperatures

For something bigger I purchased an incubator from CSerpents. I haven't used it yet but will be soon!
