Don't talk crap about someone else's car that is in bad shape. You don't know there life. Appreciate what you have and the work you were able to provide. I had a car that had no heat towards the end of it's life although I was grateful that it ran and I didn't have to take the bus.

I actually thought I was missing a bolt or something... couldn't get it to budge with my entire weight so i looked this video up and it turns out its just rusted to the mount. I wish I had an air hammer right about now.
Changing the diode plate and the voltage and coal tegula that same alternator of the video changing the parts I mentioned because it would serve the honda accord next year 98 2002 Just that today they did in a workshop where I went to buy an alternator for my accord 1999 2.3
Funny this car does not look good but this guy is in the same boat as the customer I have. 95 Honda Accord LX and believe you me the one I’m working on is three times worse than this one. Don’t believe me I’ll email you a pic! Lol but they’re amazing cars. They just keep on running no matter how old they are with a little bit of maintenance.
No offense but I'm glad I don't have you as my mechanic being as you want to "cheap it out". If it's a new belt you wouldn't have to replace it but damn dude. By the looks of it you knew it should of been replaced. Belt squeal and the alt not not charging the battery could be two main issues after you release the car back to the owner.
David Mitchell agreed. That horrible car didn't last long. It had other issues too. It was one of those "her mechanic said... So just do it" cars. After that she junked the car, and took the bus. I told her to junk that thing at first site. She didn't want to. That's when you get the "I just need it for", and "can't you just" stories. Unfortunately you can only do so much for a welfare case before you become one yourself. What she wanted was a dice roll. I gave her that. On the cheap.
I am doing my friends right now and the bottom 12mm nut is rounding off. It would be nice to see a video doing one that has the a/c system as there is more crap in the way. I had to remove the power steering reservoir to get to it.
A lot of those rust in. I think I used an air hammer on that car for something. Can you remove the tensioner, with it still attached to the alternator?
@@RustBeltAuto i can get everything out/lose (no rust) but its like something is keeping it from coming out.....do i need to pull the top of the alternator off the mounts so its all lokse then pull that bolt out ?
@@jonathanhankins790 the bottom bolt that does not have the adjuster on it, has a sleeve that moves when you tighten the bolt to take up slack. I'm assuming that it's making it stuck. You should be able to wiggle it out, or pry it a little with something.
Mine is rust free and that bottom bolt was a massive PITA - also it turns out I got the wrong alternator...I figured it out once I had it all installed and went to plug in the wiring harness. Anyone want a car? :p

Lol hell no engine bay is covered in old oil cause kid before me left engine oil cap off and drove it lol hit deer with it it was already spray painted to hell when I got I made it black but it just won't die never ceases to amaze me I'm changing the alternator in a snow storm right now

Just use a universal joint or swivel sockets
