I've driven one of these for 7 years. Bought it with 185k on it, and it was abused before I bought it. I've never once had one of these issues. These are all wear and tear issues.
I've had every single one of these issues in my 97 accord vtec although I have a manual 😅 I fixed my leaky distributor. Fixed the leaky valve cover gasket Fixed the ignition switch Fixed the clutch safety switch which was a pain Fixed my horn connectors since it wouldn't work Fixed my break switch since it kept my lights on Replaced the battery and did the valve lash adjustment too with the valve cover gasket. Which btw you don't mention. It's a common issue and tge cause of weird rattle noises at 2k rpm or lower. And that's about it OH and two timing belts 😅 273k miles and still redlines every day
Leaving aside these problems regarding the engine and transmission, they are very solid and indestructible, this generation, thank goodness, does not have the horrible gearbox that the last generation would use, so the automatics of these are usually durable, so yes, it is an excellent car.
great video!!! exactly what i neded to see and hear before i buy a beautiful 94 accord ex im looking at. all pretty easy fixes and things to keep an eye on.
For people watching this its best to upgrade to the acura CL 97-99 Rotor over hub conversion instead of continuing to use the pesky captive rotor setup, how and way the acura CL works, its basically a reskined accord 94-97 coupe and the coupe shares everything with sedans minus the doors of course.
I looked for a complete front wheel bearing, wheel hub, and rotor set (seen at 3:04) on your website but didn't see any. All I saw was the hub & bearing assembly but the rotors were separate.
I have an issue when I get around 45 mph and in overdrive (automatic transmission) , it feels like the front-end is bouncing up and down but when I pull the trans back in 3rd gear it stops! Would taht be a bad engine mount? Help!
