We are sad to see you leave. Turgutreis DMarin has been a home to us for 12 years. Thank you for covering the region so fairly. The town of Turgutreis is getting some significant infrastructures finished soon, including the town square., I hope you stop by on your way back from wherever you are headed. Cheers GO AZTEK
It’s so much more relaxing when you have an anchor you trust to hold the ground. Yes you can set the anchor alarm, but if you don’t trust the anchor you’re always listening out for that.
Wherever you go in Turkey, you can always find quality food. You won't go hungry here. And the food of each region is different and delicious. After all, it is the oldest settlement in the world and many different cultures lived here.
LOL now you know what it is like for us New England sailors who are out of the water for 5 + months during the winter. Getting back to the boat is like relearning everything, and something always breaks. Great video.
Gotta be an armchair warrior here. You recognise the very real problem with a four month lay off from using the boat - but what would be a better way? 1. Checklists - You need a harbour one and a Pre Sea Checks. follow aircrew practice. 2. After a long lay off programme in a basin trial a few days before your planned sailing date. A basin trial involves bringing all systems in use and operate the boat as though you were at sea but the dock lines stay tied. Functional check of propulsion ahead and astern, if wind allows get the rags out one by one and operate all winches, functional check of capstan. 3. Two days before planned sailing date - sea trials and shakedown - a functional test of the boat and crew under motor and sail. Only need 2-3 hours for this.
İ missed you guys! Isabella is growing up❤ I cant believe she is already watching something on your phone. İt is always pleasure watching you. Shame you are with us only for a short time in your videos😢. Take care of eachother and Isabelle. Safe sailing and happy days!
I kept a checklist for going to sea and end of day. It can be a one minute read to ensure all is covered. I guess it is my aviation experience that showed it to be useful.
Guys your content this last few videos has just been brilliant. The research has been outstanding and having spent the last 3 seasons sailing Turkey and Cyprus we appreciate the places you are showcasing. We are about to head your way leaving Cyprus Tuesday heading West and North. There are a couple of places that you absolutely have to go before like us, you head West. The sunken city at Keckover, the city and 20,000 seat amphitheater at Demre, St. Nicholas church & The mankind museum there too. Drop us a line and we will give you a heads up... Sail Safe Guys, Ant & Cid.
I just love your episodes. You guys make editing look easy. The flow is just right. Glad you are sailing again and that the weather isn't too dicy...yet. I really like that you are reading Spanish to Isa. Being bilingual is so important these days. Anyway, it's a great episode. ❤ Hello Oso
Dear Jordan and Desiree … thanks for your awesome videos!!! Question: I have a sailing boat … 44ft, which is finishing its charter service and I will take it over in fall 2025. Would you recommend this Marina in Turkey for some substantial boat work? Badically upgrading from costal charter to live-aboard capable boat… plus standard maintenance, upgrade to lithium batteries, solar arch and so on? How would you rate the yard and contractors there?
Which Marina are you considering, I have sailed the Turkish coastline for the last 9 yrs and have used a few marinas for work etc and installed lithium batteries 3 kw inverter and mppt controller etc.
I’ve been doing a study in the Biblical book of Acts & History of the early church. ⛪️ So much of it takes place RIGHT where you guys have been traveling! You have enriched my study unknowingly and it’s been incredible to see many of these early church historical sites! I can’t wait to tune in to all the places you visit down across this region! It has been such a pleasure to watch! Maybe one day I’ll get to see it as well!
We spent 13 days in Kaş last summer. It was amazing. Planning to visit Datça, Marmaris and Göcek area next time. I wish it was warmer so you could jump in the water wherever you anchor. Get yourselves water shoes they help a lot on the rocks.
You look like the actor that played Sparticus on the showtime series and your wife looks like the lady that played Sparticus wife .. It's a great show you should check it out sometime.
Fantastic video, unbelievable quality. I love when you're underway, Desiree cooking again, prepare to get hungry! I love the talent base of you two and the places you go. Amazing. I'm happy you are sailing again, so much of the world I haven't seen! Thank you.
Hope you visit Datca and Sailor Paradise, (other side of the bay of Datca, (Simi if you want to go te Greece again, several bays are beautiful), Loryma, Serge Limani, Ciftlick) And after Marmaris there are to bays before the Goceck Bay also very beautiful)
Great to see you back out on the water! That shot of you looking down on Isa as she watches her show while you get underway was so cute. Those cheeks! 💓💓Another great episode.
Been a while since I have managed to catch a video. My yt use to be SV Esprit Libre from Punta Gorda Fl. We now live remote in Alaska on a homestead and cabin rental property we purchased. I have a lot of videos to catch up on. Missed your vids.
I see, you are heading towards Fethiye. I hope you will visit Cleopatra beach and the ruins on that island, Akyaka, and after Fethiye, Kaş and the Sunken City ruins^^
I was in your area a long time ago - just around the corner - the bay east of Bodrum is worth more than a week to explore. An in many anchorages there are little restaurants with amazing food.
Get ready for the night winds from the land, especially after very hot day times. But anyway, my homeland- west mediterrenean coasts of Türkiye, are really cute. Enjoy!❤
OMG, that was such a great video that it flew by. I could have watched another hour!! Desiree's cooking/food looks next level delicious. I'm surprised your not both 400lbs 😂 Your videos are so fantastic I feel like I'm watching a mini professional documentary. 🤗💞
I think still it's a good time to visit Datça town. They have delicious almond. You may stay in Antalya and visit Konya. I mean if you guys are interested in Sufi culture. Try to reach Cyprus.
Lookout the mosaic tile floor reminded me of an experience when I was a teenager visiting Israel. We were looking at a Roman era mosaic floor and the guide threw the water from his large cup onto the floor and the colors seemed to pop much brighter when wet. I suggest you try it. Worst possible outcome is wasting some water.
Hi there. First things first, you are in the best place in Turkey to observe nature, history and sea. Second, enjoy your delicious Mezes which you taste, but try Rakı with them. It is like a tradition or legacy in Turkey, we love Rakı with fish and meze. Have fun, take care😊
When you said you’re done exploring Turkey it broke my heart a bit because your inland vlogs were so good. I love that you all were able to capture it for us and I will miss turkey too. I love your channel!
Hi, it seems that you are in Göcek marina right in front of my boat according to your last AIS position. How long are you planning to be around Göcek ? I just wanna pass by and say hello. If you need any assistance, let me know. Cheers. Murat (s/y Deep&Sea)
I am a fan of ancient Greek and Roman architecture, so I love all your land excursions! You are taking me to see all the things I'd want to see! Thank you so much! Also, Isabella is just the sweetest! I know there are hard times off camera but you guys are doing great!!! Thank you for taking us along!
I so enjoy you episodes. You do such a great job with the history of where your at. I love it. You are my favorite you tube channel. I look forward to your shows every week. Be safe out there.
Four months already gone, amazing how fast time flies. It seems like you have done a lot while at Turgutreis D Marina. I am amazed with your travels in Turkey too and how much insights you have gained in a very short period of time. I am grateful that your apporach has been balanced and objective. I ask some of my foreign friends to watch your videos since I liked them a lot. I am sure people at Turgutreis will miss you and you must have been loved a lot, over there. Knidos is a very interesting ancient place, I am glad you made it there when it was not too crowded. Happy sailing with fair winds and enjoy the rest of your stay in Turkey. 😊
Wow the ability to deal with all of the challenges of getting your sails up you still find the ability capture some really good drone footage at some point. It is always impressive to watch you guys which I randomly do from time to time.
We are sad to see you leave. Turgutreis DMarin has been a home to us for 12 years. Thank you for covering the region so fairly. The artistry and sophistication of the ancient world blows my mind

Isa is growing so fast. That little meal made my mouth water, shrimps, fish, garlic and fresh baked bread, delicious.
Great stop. I love the small sea ports.
Excited to be back sailing. I sure enjoyed your videos on the inland adventures. Turkey is beautiful.
You are visiting my favourite area........lovely swimming, small bays and gorgeous towns. Very envious!
6:00 You gotta dip the bread in them shrimp. The fish you have are Barbon. Those are my favorite. They have them in Egypt too.
The bread is better toasted, or as they say it, ızgara ekmek!
Great video. I always learn something new! Have great travels!💗 Made me feel Tipsy and glad you provide the opportunity to donate any amount.
I just love the history lessons. Beautiful little daughter there, too! Be safe always from the Philippines.

Checklists are awesome, but trying to get a chaotic 88 year parent to adopt them is mind boggling.
Loved this episode...sooo much beauty in this world!! And, thank you for my Saturday morning history lesson...always great! ✌️💜
Happy Saturday! Cutest moment ever at 12:19. It seems Mom has an audience. Watch closely it passes too quickly.
Eye opening. Turkey is such a beautiful country!

woahh, the tiling still visible and intact was crazy!!!
Thank you two so much for bringing me to beautiful places I will never visit and the education that goes with the journey.

3:07 Kids are good to pick up the feeling of the adults. Man is stressed as hell, so kid could be mirroring it. Stay calm and stay safe

Happy Saturday from Lake Huron (Canada) ..... we are looking forward to launch in a few weeks. Keep up with the great videos
Buon mare e buona vela, ragazzi! Siete fantastici e Isabella è splendida!!!
Very entertaining video 📹 👏. The marina is simply amazing ❤❤❤❤❤❤.
Have fun. The southwestern coast is a gem. Be careful about lodos (southwestern storms). 17:00 Thats Barbunya btw.
@Ozgur72 minor typo correction 🙂
Barbunya = Red beans (Not fish)
Barbun = Red mullet (Fish)
You look like the actor that played Sparticus on the showtime series and your wife looks like the lady that played Sparticus wife .. It's a great show you should check it out sometime.
16:55 Fish is a striped red mullet. One of the my favorites. In Turkish 'Tekir balığı' we say.
Fantastic video, unbelievable quality. I love when you're underway, Desiree cooking again, prepare to get hungry! I love the talent base of you two and the places you go. Amazing. I'm happy you are sailing again, so much of the world I haven't seen! Thank you.
Sailing is so intriguing. An absolute passion of mine, however, not throwing up is even more of a passion of mine! So I don't usually go sailing!!
Beautiful..
Thank you!!!
Another great Saturday morning coffee with Atticus. Great anchorage,. Gonna be a great cruising season. Looking forward to it.
You never loose it ! Maybe rusty but it is like riding a bike!

Great first sail back out. You may have been a little rusty to start with, but I'm sure you'll be back in the swing of thing in no time.
Woot. Cool to see you guys out again.
Great to see you back out on the water! That shot of you looking down on Isa as she watches her show while you get underway was so cute. Those cheeks! 💓💓Another great episode.

17:04 The little fish you are eating looks like a « rouget » in french (red mullet ?). Typical in the Mediterranean sea, and one of my favorite !!!
I see, you are heading towards Fethiye. I hope you will visit Cleopatra beach and the ruins on that island, Akyaka, and after Fethiye, Kaş and the Sunken City ruins^^

That is a very interesting place to be visiting. Great show and good job on the editing.

Good video. Can you expand on how you set up the jibe preventer? You mentioned it briefly but we’d like to see how you set yours up.
That anchorage is beautiful, out of season is the best.
I’m a bit sad seeing Isa handling that phone like a pro.
OMG, that was such a great video that it flew by. I could have watched another hour!! Desiree's cooking/food looks next level delicious. I'm surprised your not both 400lbs 😂
Your videos are so fantastic I feel like I'm watching a mini professional documentary. 🤗💞
You are sailing my dream route. Weather will be nicer just few weeks later. You must visit Gocek area. Have fun in Turkiye
It is called Turkish Riviera from Antalya to Muğla city shores ...

Isabella is getting so big! So beautiful ❤️ I love your videos!
16:33 you know, I can binge on that thing until I get myself a heart attack.
