- Piers Morgan Uncensored is joined by Jewish Israeli actress, writer and activist Noa Tishby to discuss the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine and the world's reaction to the war in Gaza. They also discuss the growing antisemitism amidst the conflict and the treatment of Jewish people globally.
Piers begins by asking Noa how she feels about people conflating the actions of the Israeli government in its response to the Hamas attacks on October 7th with Jewish people across the world. Noa believes that criticisms of Israel as a country are only masking antisemitism and believes it is a dangerous rhetoric as Jewish people across the world are not responsible for the actions of the Israeli government. Noa however also adds that she feels IDF are doing the best they can to limit the casualties.

As an Arab, this is me speaking up: everything that was said is exactly why this problem has gone on for years. First off, criticizing Israel’s Zionist government is not the same as hating Jewish people (I have Jewish friends and family that I love). Conflating the two is exactly what stirs antisemitism because many of the Israeli government’s tactics are reprehensible and ignorant people use this to take out this anger on Jewish people. Second of all, regardless of your views of Hamas, killing off civilians is not the only path forward; anyone who says otherwise is inhumane. That would be like the US razing Saudi Arabia to the ground after September 11. So no, even Israel’s closest ally didn’t resort to such extreme measures. And lastly, just please remember the context for what motivated the atrocity of Oct 7; it was absolutely terrible what happened, but the Israeli government has oppressed Gazans for years and someone was bound to lash out eventually (that’s just common sense). Since then, Israel has killed about 6x more civilians (half children) - and that’s with conservative estimates.

It's good to have a dialog about this very difficult issue. So thank you for bringing this up and speaking up. But let me push back a little about the Israeli government. You say their behaviour and tactics are reprehensible. I heard a different perspective. Many of the things said about Israel seem to be misunderstood. I can agree that making this harsh blockade radicalized the population of Gaza. But after the Hamas's attack there was no way how Israel could respond militarily overall. Fighting without artillery strikes would lead to huge losses on the Israeli side. They did warn about airstrikes, "knock on the roof" tactics, etc. Hamas just enjoys ending their life, lives of civilians, they get off of it. That's why they tell locals to stay where they are and not move. Israel, for another example, to the contrary did not cut off all the water supply before the attacks. But they controlled it, yes. While Hamas was building DIY missiles out of pipes, and polluting the remaining water supply. This conflict is so complex, and I wish peace to the region. But Hamas did much more damage to Palestinians than Israel, because they are radical extremist tyrants. That's how I see it.
