- Curtain University Dean of Global Futures Joe Siracusa reacts to Foreign Minister Penny Wong’s response to the International Criminal Court (ICC) seeking warrants for Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of alleged war crimes.
“Very cautious, very cautious indeed, not a very useful response,” Mr Siracusa told Sky News Digital Presenter Gabriella Power.
“The ICC charging Netanyahu and his defence minister with crimes like this is a very serious business, very dramatic, it wouldn’t have hurt the Australian government to say this is a good idea or a bad idea."

Australia's involvement and decision-making within the foreign affairs portfolio have, without doubt, been the worst in living memory. The Albanese government with Wong as foreign minister has been an unmitigated disaster.

Why is isreal PM being charged for again? Declare war on Hamas who use cervilans as human shields..food and water going in by truck loads into Gaza so no depriving food and water as ICC claims. @@cl-he9us Respecting international law is different than being a part of the ICC. No Australian citizens should be extradite and tried under a foregen body. And it would be dangerous for Australia to enforce and arrest a allied politician that is being protected by the US government. It could lead to consequences for Australia

The Australian government voted for the recognition of Palestine as a state in order to give the ICC the jurisdiction necessary to issue the arrest warrants against Netanyahu and Gallant.
