Just ordered a Motorola Edge (2020) 6/256 from Amazon today. My current phone is the Moto G7 Play 2/32. I'm looking forward to the OLED screen, stereo speakers, and extra memory. My first Motorola was the Triumph on Virgin Mobile in the USA. I also have a Moto X Pure. Love that phone but it's way too old. Thanks for your update. I hope my Edge is a good one, without issues.
I have had mine when it first came out (2020 lol) and it still works like new. There really isn't too bad of a down fall. The only thing I would really say is, when looking for a screen protector like tempered glass, that is kind hard to find. Amazon sells them but not much of a selection like the newer Motos. After 2 years, I cracked mt screen for the first time and not too happy with that lol, but i do hope that the camera gets a bit of an update to match the newer models but nothing major.
Yeah I struggled to find a screen protector for mine! Overall, really enjoyed using the phone. Camera experience was good, but yes I agree would benefit from a software update to tweak results a bit 😁

Thinking about buying one as it has pretty much everything I expect from a cellphone. But, I've seen a lot of people complaining about screen issues. Has anybody had problems with their unit's screen?
No screen issues other than it takes time to get the feel and used to the edge of the phones usually just lower the sensitivity on the edges in settings. It's really how you hold your phone so it might not be for you depending on accidental touches on the edges.

I haven’t had any screen issues at all. Even the “accidental” touches on the edges haven’t been an issue. A really great phone to use. The lack of updates I think is the only major downside
I just got one for 150 brand new I did have a problem with it freezing but Put it to the computer reinstalled the Software Now is running butter smooth I love this phone lol

Couldn’t tell you, I would say unlikely. But I don’t have it anymore so not sure. Motorola aren’t the best with software updates so wouldn’t hold much hope
On the phone dialing app when you dial *#*#4636*#*# you get a "Testing" screen. If you select "Phone Information". Under "User-Agent Profile: motorolaedge. It says "Set Preferred Network Type" without clicking on it whats the default setting on yours? What does it say? Also are any of the bottom settings on Mobile Radio Power, VOLTE Provisioned, Video Calling Provisioned, Wifi Calling Provisioned, EAB/Presence Provisioned?
Front camera on mine has blurry resolution even if it's slightly dark. This wasn't the case with my 2020 motoG stylus. Also when watching videos, dark images are clouded/patchy.
You can do, and it will still work absolutely fine! Problem will be software updates will be few and far between, might be worth stretching to a newer model if you can for those updates!
Unfortunately no. I’d love to review that phone, but not in the financial position to buy one. Hopefully in the future I’ll. e able to look at the more expensive models 😊
OnePlus Nord 2T makes more sense, newer so will be supported for much longer, more ram with faster storage and faster charging. You miss out on the curved display, but if that’s not an issue, the OnePlus makes more sense 😊
@@ashdoestech Edge+ 12gb/256 costs 350 euros, while 2T also 12/256 costs 425 euros and offeres 2 android updates and 3 years of security updates. While the performance and specs are on pair, 2T wins and OnePlus just because of their update policy.
It's currently $299 on their site, do you think it's worth getting now? I was unable to find how long is security updates go until, but I think an antivirus app would compensate, right?
I probably wouldn’t pay that much, you should be able to find a refurbished one for considerably cheaper, and if you can then it’s worth it definitely! I’m not sure either, I can’t imagine it’ll be supported with them for much longer so I think an antivirus app would help
I got mine when it first came out (2020), it was running at 600-700 on the site, but got it on sale around valentine's day for about 400.00. The latest update for me was August 1st, 2022, not sure if this helps.
What I’m saying is, I didn’t damage it in my use. But then I didn’t drop it on any hard surfaces. If you dropped it on a tile floor, I wouldn’t be sure it would be undamaged

Yeah it’s really good. I still use it for all my music and it’s great. Stereo speakers on it are decent. Despite the older software, I don’t think you’d be disappointed if you got one
@@ashdoestech I'm really considering this phone because of the huge OLED screen, 5g support, has NFC, a headphone jack, expandable sd card support, stock android and looks like pretty good photo and video quality. Considering it's like $300 unlocked from Motorola seems like a really good deal overall. My main concern was call quality as a few moto phones I've owned were lacking in call clarity and volume
Bang for your buck it’s a great phone and like I said, I didn’t notice any call quality issues. I think for what you get for your money it’s great. And battery life is amazing too!
@@ashdoestech Enjoy the Moto Edge. It's an underrated phone really. Once they got the screen issues worked out, it's a beauty. If I got another 1 I'd keep it on A10...11 did it no favors. 11 made mine unstable when charging. So the phone was practically useless while plugged in as the touch element of the screen would bug out like crazy... Maybe is was a ground short? But no other phone I've owned has had an issue with that cable and charger. The 6a is "alrite"... honestly besides it's slightly smaller size I'm just not really impressed...but who knows you may love it...🤷🏻♂️
Right now Motorola has a sale going on in their website. I can buy it around $175 after trading in my moto 5g ace. I'm sorta torn between that or paying around $300 for the 2021.
It's a great phone, I don't think you'll be disappointed if you buy it. The 2021 does offer some nice improvements, you just need to decide it's worth the 125 more for them. But this Edge is an awesome phone 😊

I'm actually surprised at the features, storage, and performance. Sure, it isn't the fastest in the market today, but more than enough for gaming too.
@@ZoraPMC Great 👍, I have the 2020 Edge Plus 12gb/256gb version and it's the best phone I've ever owned. You should also get the Motorola Ready For docking station as well, once you use it with your Edge you'll feel every phone you use after without it is a automatic downgrade.
do you have problem with swiping from the edge of the screen to get back ( swipe gesture ) ? I've heard it registers it as a tap most of the time and you would have to swipe multiple times to get back
I didn't find any issues in my use. I too heard about that too. I have the Honor 50 with a curved screen and that has no issues either. Hopefully those reports are few and far between now :)
Never update this phone. It just gets bloated and slow. I am still on 10 and very happy. Updates just slow phones down. It is very rare anyone does an update that actually benefits the customer.
@@ashdoestech did you have it on 10 prior? I had one that had a bad power supply and it was going to be replaced by Motorola so I updated it. It had six updates I did all six updates and it's slowed the thing down when it got to Android 11. It was no longer as snappy as it once was
I had the phone for 6 months. complete piece of ... I do not know how you take such photos maybe using your Iphone 🤣camera terrible, charging terrible, updates terrible, no 5G support in Germany (they are liers). no android 12 just a beautiful design and good screen. also after the android update, edges were removed from display (they said it is google policy). very bad experience
I've used every phone over the years and Trust and Believe Me Motorola makes the best batteries out there.

I have the Motorola Edge Plus (2020)! After 2 years, it's still a solid phone, and the battery health is still at 98%!

Just got one to replace my Z Play I accidentally broke and wasn't repairable. Kinda glad I did because I LOVE the 2020 Edge.

The 32-mp selfie camera is great as well as the Mediatek Dimensity 1050 chipset. I think this one is good by Moto!

Is the screen okay? Does it last? It looks like something that'll break on a first fall
No scratches during my use, and I never put a screen protector on it

How about the haptics?
Haptics are pretty good. Seem better and more subtle than on the more budget Motorolas

It uses Motorolas “Peak Display” which is basically the same, give you similar info as AOD

No I always had it on android 11..... I think 😅. Either way, I had no issues with slow downs or anything
