I love the fact that I hear gear sick of you starting at the end. In my top 5 gear songs for sure

Congratulations. You are a great worker. It has been best begin from the top and finish on bottom. To do it that you say, with art.

    Question:
Could I put a mesh screen in the collar to put some dried fruit in to give alcohol a little more flavor?

One more question, the area under the Cap, you leave the like that ledge that area that will collect liquid from vapor cooling falling back down, or do you cut that out to the same size as the collar?

Really makes no difference in the grand scheme of things. Your only taking about a couple ounces. I've seen guys spend hours and make the transition absolutely perfect. Just boiles down to what's going to nag your mind when looking at it :)

Why not wrap the cone with a wet rag n stay back from you sweat joint a couple inches? A wet rag does wonders at keeping heat away from joints u already sweat.

Might I ask with everything soldered together how do you clean it out from the previous run if you are switching to another medium??

You do what is called a cleaning run. We recommend filling the pot halfway with water and add a few gallons of vinegar and let it boil for a while. Depending on how long is Ben between uses will determine how much oxidation and contaminants have been introduced. If you are doing a run back to back, simply washing it out with a water hose or fresh water will suffice.

Question. I bought the 20 gal pot still from you guys about a year ago. My cap for it fits around the neck of the pot. This makes it difficult to seal. Most pot stills I see the cap fits inside the neck of the pot. Any reason in particular for this?

Pasting can be a pain to learn. Make sure the consistency of the flour water is like a putty. Most folks get the hang of it after a couple runs but we do offer our no paste EZ Clamp® system for locking the cap to the pot. You can read more about it following the link below. We do offer a DIY version for previous customers.

cpurdy1974 I guess what I was asking is why have the cap go around the neck instead of inside of it?

Just cut an inch off the cap around it. It’ll be easier to seal that way.
