Thank you so much for a wonderful skin school video Dr. Karam. I had not heard of collagen banking before. It is great to know all you have told us about that subject. I learn so much about the skin and what helps to take care of my skin from your skin school videos. I appreciate so much that you make these videos to help us know what to do and when to do and what to use. What's fake and what's real and I thank you so very much Dr. Karam. You are the best.
The best product for collagen banking right now is the Skinlyte Hair and Whole Body Bar soap with collagen and keratin peptides. Skinlyte has a soap that is loaded not only with collagen but also keratin peptides. It is called Hair & Whole Body Bar. It is fast absorbed because it has an enhanced binding enhancement technology which produces a water molecule that hydrates skin and hair. It repairs, rebuilds and strengthens hair and skin. I got it at Amazon and I am impressed with new benefits I discover every time I use it. I noticed many improvements in my hair, skin and nails. What I like best about it is that it's all natural and without harmful chemicals such as synthetic dyes, fragrance, SLS or preservatives.
Thank you Dr Karam I really appreciate this information. I've found that for me the number one factor for preserving my skin texture/look has been sun protection and keeping out of the sun when its at its strongest. However a very close second and absolute necessity is a regular skincare routine, routine being the key factor, while making sure you get the right topicals to your skin. Only after these two do I consider collagen supplements but I do take them regularly because added to the previous two stages the supplementation definately makes a difference to the overall more youthful look of my skin.
I wish you discussed the pros and cons on lasers for collagen building in this video. I know they can resurface skin but I thought they can also help with collagen building… and then there’s PRF for under the eyes… a lot of information out there to sort through.
I’ve had many in office procedures. Lasers, peels, etc. also am extremely diligent about my daily skincare regimen. Sculptra has been a game changer for me personally. The results have been amazing! Best money I’ve spent thus far!
Same here, sculptra is fantastic for loss of volume. It's never been sold as a skin booster like he says to change texture. Always been sold for loss of volume which no creams, peel or boosters can give you.
@@fabriceclarou1407 we do have it in our med spa to be used both ways. However when used topically it’s more for a glow effect and not worth the cost imo. It’s stamped into the skin.
Sculptra definitely has its benefits, just not specifically for the concept of collagen banking because it doesn't specifically target the superficial collagen that contributes to long-term skin health.
It does but not at the skin level. Sculptra is for adding volume as opposed to stimulating skin collagen so it had zero collagen banking benefits. I hope that helps!
I disagree that Sculptra does nothing for the skin. I'm in my 30s, so I mainly did it for the lost volume in my face due to overall weight loss. Before the procedure my skin had already been in very good condition, so I didn't notice spectacular changes in skin quality. But I did notice the WOW effect on my sister, who is 13 years older and also had it. She also confirms that when massaging her face, she can feel it's much more supple than before.
I believe Sculptra has its benefits just not for this specific aspect of skin aging. I talk more about it in this video th-cam.com/video/oQ3d1Ru2DRs/w-d-xo.html
Two questions regarding 'collagen banking': 1. when taking into account all recommendations regarding skincare, in office treatments and lifestyle, are there any in office treatments not mentioned in this video that (may) add 'credit'? 2. What do you think of polynucleotide boosters as a way of stimulating collagen?
I have seen so many videos from him where he mentioned sculptra is best for generating collagen hence repair skin for loss of volume. But in this particular video he said no to sculptra treatment for collagen boosting.. it’s Really confusing…
Sorry for the confusion. Sculptra adds volume by stimulating collagen in the deeper layers of the skin, but it does not specifically target the superficial collagen that contributes to “collagen banking” for long-term skin health. Therefore, it may not provide the same collagen-boosting benefits for the skin’s surface. I hope that clears up what I was trying to communicate.
Unlike tretinoin, the retinol in Illuminate is not designed to work as a stand-alone ingredient. Instead, it’s one of over a dozen active ingredients in a formula crafted to brighten and even out skin tone. This advanced formulation delivers noticeable results while remaining gentle enough for all skin types, including sensitive skin. To achieve this, the concentration of retinol has been carefully balanced, and it’s delivered through a patented complex that maximizes absorption and efficacy. Using Illuminate twice daily, every day, provides more consistent and effective results than intermittent use of tretinoin, which can be challenging for some skin types to tolerate. The Trifecta includes the optimal amount of retinol needed for results. If you’re interested in learning more, I recommend visiting our clinical studies page. karammdskin.com/pages/clinical-study
How are you supposed to do in office treatments and continue with your skincare routine? For example, will stopping my tretnoin for 2 weeks have me “fall back” in my progress?
Early studies and clinical use show promising results, but as with most newer skincare innovations, more research is always valuable to better understand the long-term impact.
Alot of people say that when a product claims to do multiple things like your product, it wont work as good as other products. Do you think using one product that does multiple things is better than using seperate products?
It took nearly 5 years to formulate for this very reason. there are nearly 10 thousand people using it daily and love it. Also I wouldn’t risk my reputation and put my name on the bottle if it didn’t work.
For treating skin concerns without aggravating melasma you can try Microneedling or Gentle Chemical Peels but I would watch this video for my thoughts on this topic th-cam.com/video/01EMKsDsWsA/w-d-xo.html
I do not recommend utilizing treatments like Softwave to try and tighten or lift the face. These options are generally unreliable, and the potential side effects can often outweigh the chances of a positive result. For those looking for genuine, long-lasting tightening, surgical approaches are far more effective. In the meantime, focusing on consistent, active skincare and collagen-boosting treatments can help maintain skin health.
What about socially drinking and recreational drugs? Will doing all the office procedures and actives in skin care and then engaging in those activities cause collagen loss?
While occasional social drinking etc use may not drastically impact your skin, regular or excessive engagement in these activities can contribute to collagen loss and counteract your skincare and procedural efforts.
You are very good at explaining things but I always get the feeling you tend to push either surgery or your products.Sculptra is fantastic even If it stimulates collagen in my teeth I would still have it.Not everyone can afford to have surgery or buy your products
Dr. I want to get a facelift when I am older (hopefully with you), should I use Sculptra to maintain my face and skin? Or will it negatively affect the surgery?
is there any merit to stimulate collagen at all levels, including the deeper layer? I am imagining that it could strengthen those layers and make the skin look a bit firmer. Would love to know your thoughts.

Yes, glycation does cause collagen degradation. Maintaining a balanced diet low in refined sugars can help slow down this process and protect skin structure. Antioxidants and skincare ingredients that support collagen, like retinoids and peptides, can help counteract some of the effects of glycation on the skin but of course nothing is a replacement for eating whole, healthy foods.

So what he says here is kinda not making sense bec as a Dr. he SHOULD know how threads have to be placed even when he is not offering this treatment himself..
Botox typically relaxes the muscles that create 11 lines, but it may take up to two weeks for the full results to appear. If you still notice visible lines after that time, it could be that the lines are “static,” meaning they are etched into the skin and may need additional treatments for complete improvement. Options like dermal fillers, microneedling, or collagen-stimulating treatments could help reduce static lines. I suggest discussing these options with your provider to find the best solution for your skin!
I have excess skin on my breast from free radical damage what can we do for body skin collagen?! Help! I’m only 29 years old and see excess/loose skin already.
To address the loss of elastin, it's still key to focus on a skincare regimen that includes retinoids, peptides, and vitamin C to support collagen and elastin production. Retinoids, in particular, increase cell turnover and strengthen skin structure, while peptides and antioxidants protect against further damage and enhance resilience. Adding sunscreen daily is crucial to prevent UV-induced elastin breakdown. You can momplement your routine with in-office treatments like laser or microneedling, which can stimulate deeper layers of the skin for added elasticity. Consistency with these steps can make a visible difference in maintaining firm, youthful skin.
The primary purpose of a fat graft is to restore volume, not directly to boost collagen. While you may see some improvements in skin texture and quality, it’s typically less targeted and less substantial than treatments or ingredients specifically designed for collagen production.
I am one who skin is sensitive to niacinamide. I have to have a lower percentage of niacinamide in my serums. How does your trifecta work for those of us? Who have this issue?
Thank you for your question! The Trifecta system is designed to be gentle and suitable for a range of skin types, including those with sensitivities. The niacinamide in our products is included at a balanced, low concentration to provide benefits without overwhelming the skin. This allows even those sensitive to niacinamide to enjoy the calming, brightening, and barrier-supportive effects without irritation. If you'd like further details or need guidance on how best to introduce it into your routine, please feel free to reach out to our customer care team!
The prices on your products are just beyond ridiculous. Why are they so expensive? I can see why you promote them all the time because they’re really expensive. There’s other products out there with the same ingredients and they cost a third of what your products cost.

What should we believe????
Sculptra definitely has its benefits, particularly in restoring volume by stimulating collagen in the deeper layers of the skin. However, it doesn't contribute to "collagen banking" for surface-level skin health, as its effects are more focused on volume enhancement rather than directly improving the quality or resilience of the skin's surface. You can learn more about my thoughts on Sculptra here th-cam.com/video/oQ3d1Ru2DRs/w-d-xo.html
What about legs... the skin is so different at 66. I dont recognize my skin. I work for a plastic surgeon and do peels, lasers every year, and good skin care everyday.
To keep the skin on your legs youthful, focus on hydration, exfoliation, and sun protection. Since leg skin is thicker and slower to renew than facial skin, it benefits from a rich moisturizer with ingredients like ceramides and hyaluronic acid, applied daily to lock in moisture. You can also exfoliate weekly with mild scrubs or AHA/BHA lotions to improve texture and tone. Protect legs from UV damage with SPF 30+ whenever they’re exposed, and consider a retinol body lotion to support collagen production for smoother, firmer skin over time. As with anything, consistent care is key to visible results.

So what he says here is kinda not making sense bec as a Dr. he SHOULD know how threads have to be placed even when he is not offering this treatment himself..
Hello doctor i have used botox for my 11 lines few days back but 11 lines still visible so please suggest me how to remove 11 lines completely
Oh shit i saw her video yesterday and was wondering why you not talking about this.
And now you post it about collgeen banking.😂😂😂
That is creapy lol
I find microneedling works for me
I have excess skin on my breast from free radical damage what can we do for body skin collagen?! Help! I’m only 29 years old and see excess/loose skin already.
The same applies to your upper chest and neck! You need to treat them with active ingredients and protect them from the sun.
What about elastin? The loss of elastin is another very important reason for skin aging.
What about fat graft??
The primary purpose of a fat graft is to restore volume, not directly to boost collagen. While you may see some improvements in skin texture and quality, it’s typically less targeted and less substantial than treatments or ingredients specifically designed for collagen production.
HRT is the best
Jo.. No entiendo nada 😞
Geez just get on with what works
I have sculptra for loss of volume, not to change the texture of skin, it's not sold as that, to demonise other great treatment to sell your product made me make the decisions to never watch another of your videos .
I have nothing against Sculptra, I just want people to know what its benefits and limitations are. It's not a replacement for a comprehensive, consistent skincare routine. th-cam.com/video/oQ3d1Ru2DRs/w-d-xo.html
"Collagen Banking" 😂...Dr. Karam's New "WOKE" Phrase to sell his Anti-aging Skincare Products 😮. Go Woke Go Broke 👋
I would like to know your answer to this Beverly Hills plastic surgeons... I don´t think I get it... You said Sculptra doesn´t create collagen where it´s needed... well, other very good surgeons have something else to say:

It would be great if you could say something about it .
@@dramirkaram thanks a lot! :
A long lecture without a solution.
The lack of understanding on your side!
This video is just an infomercial for Dr Karam’s skincare products
He did to be fair. Also he called out the bs of collegen powder. Dr, don't use "banking" it's for non-doctors and influencers (junk science)
@@jt8142 Even if your claim is true, what’s wrong with that??
@@jt8142he told you what he recommends. You can find the ingredients in any products you want.
That's a great question
@@dramirkaram Thanks for your answer Doctor
What about a lactic acid moisturiser to keep the dry crepe skin at bay
