- Usually its early, early starts but on this hike we deliberatley leave late as the weather forecast was an improving one as the day went on. It was all about getting the timing correct to enjoy the best conditions on the mountains.

Superb video..I reckon Gerry had a book signing on the summit and that's why he was in a hurry, not wanting to keep his fans waiting.

Unreal.. so epic. Love the view of Ben Lomond with Loch Arklet /Loch Katrine. I was up Ben Lomond a couple of weeks ago and saw the opposite view towards Ben Ime 😅

Got me almost teary Murray. Last time I was there. Was with an old friend , we went up the Cobbler then across to where you were in full winter conditions. In fact on the way up to the summit of Ben Ime , we ended up crawling for a few Meters in the high wind and drifts! Lovely film again. It's great when the day turns out really more enjoyable than expected. In winter that's often the case it seems. Loved it.

Finally finished my binge watch/catch up of your videos. Really enjoyed them all. However, watching so many back to back has made me a little homesick! Never mind, as it's Burns Night I had a little haggis for breakfast. A wee taste of home. 🙂

Absolutely timing is everything, especially in Scotland. Many years ago I was sheltering from the December rain in Nevisport cafe at Fort William at lunchtime and it started to clear, so I bailed out of lunch and headed off. To cut a long story short I reached Carn Mor Dearg summit at sunset as the cloud cleared with similar views to you guys, and descended all the way in the dark after a real rush job :)
Sometimes leaving late can be favourable:) sounds a lovely trip you had to cm

Murray . You managed to make one of the most frequently visited areas of Scotland look like a winter wilderness. At first I thought you were waaaay up North. Funnily enough I went up Beinn Ime ten days ago Murray but didn't quite get those views, the clag was coming and going. The snow was really consolidated which was good, unfortunately there was a few people who slipped on the route up from Succoth due to the verglas. Fortunately most of it was gone by the time I descended. Really enjoyed this one thanks again.
Great video as always Murray must be good having your mates with you. As someone else said in another comment think I am to long on the pension to get up there now. Great music on the video also it's very catchy 😊😊 looking forward to the next one.

I found your recording wonderful to watch. The Scottish highlands are beautifully unique and you combined this with great camera work and good companions. It brought back wonderful memories of my days in the Highlands, and the Lake District, with fellow members of Barrow Mountaineering and Ski (social :) Club, some of whom are no longer with us. Hi Joe - I tend to use a combination of MWIS , the net office and BBC weather :) sometimes comes good - sometimes not - this was a good day :)

Murray, can I set you a challenge.
Can you do a video of THE most remote location in Scotland, in terms of distance to nearest road, population and difficulty to get to. I know you've done similar before and I've read accounts that it might be in Fisherfields, but with your OS Map savvyness and general skills it'd be incredible to see it.
Even if it is just a baron wasteland.😅

This was not far from the most remote spot - between Beinn Dearg and Rhuadh Stac Mor if memory serves me right - different source might say different locations tho ! I mean ruin it when descending off the back of the first hill in above video - enjoy

That was going to be last Saturdays hill but the weather conditions changed a day earlier than expected.
It was wild on Saturday - I was out in some local (lower hills ) and it got a bit wild in the afternoon above 500m :) was glad I wasn’t up high !
@@ScotlandsMountains only other opportunity was today and I had other commitments.
Back to work tomorrow 😪
