    I'm still using my Micron M's I bought 20 years ago. Just an on/off button and a volume knob. As long as it goes bleep when the line moves that's all I need it to do.

      i bet these are no way near the same quality, my friend had an early micron from the 90's, he bought another probably 5 years later, and i remember him opening them up and even back then, the circuitry and build of the earlier model was so much better. I don't like fox gear, i've heard staff in tackle shops talk about how much they mark up cheap products, and they are one of the worst companies for it, still i do sometimes buy fox products. However its one thing to buy cheap and know it might fall apart, but fox so often charge premium prices, for stuff that's worth peanuts, imo fox gear is more about bling factor than quality, especially these days.

    • @K20rotrex

      You could buy a universal dongle to plug in the bottom then connect a receiver to it.

    • @michaelhopewell7739

      They do presentation sets now (2 or 3) but the price hike is pretty steep, around £200 for the 3 rod set.

  • @marcswan3559

    waterproof/ rainproof??

    • @michaelhopewell7739
      @michaelhopewell7739 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's assumed with Fox alarms, at least the rainproof part. I can't remember a single Fox alarm misbehaving in the rain over the last few decades.

    Given the cost of these, how do fox justify well over £600 for a set of the top end alarms? The tech isn't THAT different.

      I still use my micron mmxr’s. They must be 15 years old or older. Had to replace the receiver but still going strong. Proper quality alarms

  • @philiplimerick2794
    @philiplimerick2794 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Too much tech for me. I,m still using my 20 year old microns. An on/off switch and a volume control. I do not need anything more. I was looking to replace them. Only because of their age. I just want new ones exactly the same. Can't seem to find any.

    They are vile.. Nash beginners (s5) are 5x better and 5x nicer looking

    • @carpFisher-no6ig
      @carpFisher-no6ig 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Margin Carper y Nash beginners are same price as these? And fox is expensive like Nash cause its quality stuff. Isn't Nash the longest serving tackle so that says alot it's self

    • @deanmcguigan423
      @deanmcguigan423 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Think the Nash S5s looks horrible, plus the sides are low and curved so if tight on the drag (to avoid snags) then out comes your rod if you get a side take. The Fox mini microns imho look a lot nicer and also more practical with better sides for keeping your rod safe but each to their own.
