as someone who started with Herons, I've used a few alarms over my 45 yrs of angling, in my humble opinion the Nevilles in Mk1 and Mk2 are the best and I still use a set of Mk2's, the worst alarms I have owned are the Bitech viper and the new fox mini micron had terminal failure in under 12 months. My Nevs have never broke or let me down in any weather. The problem with carp fishing is, its become a price tag fashion parade. Just my opinion
Its good watch this from someone with experience of a decent variety of alarms and can make comparisons rather than stand-alone evaluation. Thanks for mentioning the personal element in preferences. Something that I don't like might not be an issue for you and vice versa. Cheers!
Great Video G. I own the Fox RX+'s and have done for 6 years without issues. Only had to change batteries twice. Absolute madness. Good point about the weight, they are heavy, but I love them.
ATTS alarms are my first choice all the issues you've mentioned wasn't the alarms fault 😊 but I understand they're not for everyone and I'm glad because more alarms on a lake that sound the same would have me up n down like a brides nightgown 😅
Each person has their preferences. Im just trying to highlight mine to help others buying alarms. Personally i cant stand ATT alarms but thats just me.
I remember those old blue delkims you had! My favourite alarms and still use mk1’s today, that two tone warble is just the sound of carp fishing when it rips off
Yeah man, can’t beat the originals. I left the other two at the tidal river when packing up in the dark. Went back when I realised a few days later and only the bank sticks were left. I was gutted. Always wanted your quiverlock and delk setup. Those quiverlocks were ace
My mates used to always ask why I had elastic bands around my alarms. I had some cheapo alarms and didn't think they'd be waterproof (But they were) anyway, I put the elastic bands around them to drip the water off rather than allow it to run down into the opening where the speaker was. I had those alarms for over 20 years. A great video G
Still using the Fox Micron E & ES alarms - some 25yrs now & no issues to date. My Neville’s served me well for years but the housings cracked badly - A mate gave me a set of Fox Mini Microns as a gift so to speak - still to use them. I guess we all have our choices and experiences.
I have one of the original fox alarms from the mid 90’s staring at me now from the shelf. Still works fine. My kid uses it when she comes with me. News are prone to cracking …. But sound so good!
What wouls you recommended for distance fishing alarms on big pits dealing with tow and chop but not having constant false bleeps. Not r4 to many features that arent of any use to me
I agree. These are top end alarms, but the characteristics apply across the ranges. The basic Delkim EV has the same vibration sensing as the TXI. The more basic fox still have the same tomes for example. Hope the video was usefull
Nothing at all is unbreakable everything in any industry breaks or people had problems with most alarms on the market now are good I had delkims for years had loads of problems with the reciever switched to r3's never had a problem but i am about to buy the fox rx+ do like the r4 's but they don't hav a night light that's why am guna get the rx+ just personal preference, I hav been looking at the wolf icon but can't find enough about them to warrant spending that amount of money on them I don't no anyone that's had or got them if anyone on here nos about the wolf alarms and advice would be appreciated
I have actually used Jamies Fox RX alarms for our matches this year and must admit i like them. i love the simple on off switch rather than a button. Not too sure about the Wolf alarms, I had a look at one of the shows i was working and even the guy on the Wolf stand couldnt explain the features. lol. They have a vibration and roller sensitivity i think and you can switch between the two if you want. Far to techy for me though.

Ha ha ha. I forgot about the Bitech Viper. Super loud and they had that swing arm sensor so once it started going off in the wind in never stopped lol

Yeah, I’ve not personally had issues but I have heard of quite a few people having them pack up. Love the fox tone though.

Cheers mate. My first alarms were basic optonics.

Im using the fox micron mx good bit of kit for the money just over 200 quid from total fishing tackle bommb proof..
I must admit. Those MX alarms are awesome for the money. I think they have tone and volume and then 2 sensitivity settings …. You rarely need more
Impressive video it’s fine if you can afford these alarms wish I could

I had to make do with a fairy liquid bottle top on the line 😄
