How to Refill Pentel Pocket Brush

In this video, I will show you how to fill your Pentel Pocket Brush with your own ink rather than using the more expensive cartridges. Refill an empty cartridge with the ink of your choice (be sure to test the ink and make sure it is technical pen compatible).

I use 50% rubbing alcohol to clean out the syringe. 70% might be a bit too strong, but even 50% is enough to get rid of any old, dried ink that might have been missed the first time around.

Pentel should make this pocket brush pen in a few more larger bristle sizes. There is nothing that comes quality of the ink, the feed, the snap, and point of the bristles. A true masterpiece.

Thanks for sharing this. I've been using Rapidograph Ultradraw but haven't been happy with how black it is. Is that Dr. Martins very black? How often do you find you need to clean it to prevent clogging?

Hi and thank you for the comment. The ink I am using is Dr. Ph. Martin's Black Star Waterproof India Ink - Matte. It’s technical pen safe and I like how dark it is.
It’s been years in between cleanings but I think I will clean them more often just to have better ink flow.

I have a question, can I put the pentel art brush ink in my pocket brush pen without any drying issue in the future??

If you mean the ink cartridges that come with the Pentel pocket brush, then yes you should be able to use it long-term. However I do think that eventually any ink will dry out and cause the pen to become clogged
